MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition Opens at The Tech Museum of Innovation

about mythbusters and it's what i think about when i think about the tech so we are so pleased to have mythbusters here at the tech it wouldn't be possible though without the support of the city of san jose and there's no bigger fan of the tech than the city and this mayor so it's a great pleasure to introduce you to mayor chuck reed mayor of the city of san jose thank you well it's exciting to be here to see the opening of the most exciting exhibit ever at the tech the tech's been at this for a long time but this is by far the most exciting i think it'll be one of the most interesting exhibits especially for our kids who are trying to get interested in science because mythbusters does some of the most interesting and most exciting science on tv and the myth busters themselves make it very interesting to people to watch with their kids that's how i got started watching myth busters so i'm a big fan of the show they do real science in a way that people can understand and of course they they busted a lot of myths which makes it very cool the tech course that is mission part of its mission is to help us get our kids involved in science technology engineering math you can do that if they find it it's fun and interesting and challenging the tech does that in many many different ways and has for a very long time the tech is a core part of what we're trying to do downtown attracting visitors and making downtown an interesting place and san jose a fun place to live so i want to thank the tech for that thank the tech for their investment in this show most of all to thank the mythbusters for making it possible and for bringing science to a very broad audience to kids that otherwise wouldn't think about science i know that years from now we're going to be hearing from kids who got a science and engineering degree says you know i got my start watching mythbusters one day they did something really cool and that motivated me to do more science that's what we need because we need our younger generation to stay engaged with science technology engineering and math for silicon valley to remain the innovation center of the world we need that we're going to get that the tech's going to help make it happen the mythbusters are here to help out now they do some exciting things god really knows what they're going to do today but i'm looking forward to finding out tim so are you ready to meet some myth busters we have the co-hosts of the show here today and they are going to come up now so come on up carrie torrey and grant hello san jose we are so excited to be here thank you so much for coming to the mythbusters explosive exhibition now we're really excited to have it here in san jose at the tech museum now this isn't just a normal exhibit i mean it's very interactive you get to be a mythbuster and test some of the myths that we tested ourselves but the greatest part is it's here at the bay area i mean as you know we shoot the show nearby so it's nice to have this in our backyard now we can say from personal experience that this exhibit is not only going to entertain you but it's also going to keep you on your toes you're going to be dodging bullets hanging by your fingertips driving blind a tori is an ace at the killer card toss carrie can hang from her fingertips by like nobody else as for me i like the running in the rain exhibit i'm going to challenge all of you to see if you can run through there without getting away mythbusters explosive exhibition is going to let you be like us let you be mythbusters because the way we approach science is getting your hands dirty you're not just asking the questions you get to find the answers for yourself so enough of all the talking let's get to experimenting okay so we're just going to open up the door and we'll be able to walk through just a second so big moment for us come on mayor let's get going having a little trouble there i think we got the answer for that stand back and uh let the experts work this out sorry i've got a little c4 we'll be able to open up don't try this at home no really don't try this at home just call locksmith okay locksmithing has c4 all right plug your ears everybody fire in the hole we're going high in three two one welcome in thank you i hope we didn't blow out your ears all right
