okay colonel we'd see our fantasy of fly we're gonna open up this container here oh I wonder what's in it anyway let me tell you this has been a saga from day one it is taken a year to get this container here I don't know if you realize it but any time you ship something that happens to be an article of war you actually have to get an ATF form six approve which means you've got to be a licensed person to import those kind of things the only thing we've ever imported is is you know airplanes we're not shipping armament or anything like that if there's anything like fake aluminum guns or cannons or anything like that you know we always note it tomb and make sure they can see it you know so obviously everybody's pretty particular about what they ship around the world right now so that took a very very long time the form originally I got a new person that was working on it didn't fill it out properly and then we had to resend it back and anyway it's anyway it's been a year since we started this project yesterday basically we were dealing with the container showed up and the guy who shipped the freight thing assumed we're gonna unload it with our forklift which has a 15,000 pound capacity okay but the capacity is basically halfway out the forks six foot forks you got a three foot deal while the container is eight feet wide so you really need you know the seat anyway you can see what happens so if you load something that big it's gonna fall you know it's gonna cut your load down so anyway they told us that the container was twelve thousand pounds we were concerned the fact that the thing might not be center gravity might be not in the middlee not only lat laterally but longitudinally as well and when we finally got it unloaded we hired a crane not only did we find out that it was off-center longitude Lee it was off-center latitude as well so if like an engine or something that was on the far side of the box that makes it it makes it even worked worse with the forklift things that we got and then you know twelve thousand pounds that's what they told us when the guy did it on the crane and he actually picked it up it was twenty two thousand two hundred pounds nobody got hurt so anyway it's got a hair on the side of caution so let me I got a little Kermie goggle here to see what's inside I've not I know what's inside but I don't know how it was loaded so anyway we got to cut the lock off let's go do that [Applause] there we go I got to tell you man this tool I bought I had this in Miami when I was working on stuff back then so pretty cool all right Paul here you get a little bit of help I think it's wrong yep and let's go see what's in the Mummy's tomb okay man let's see oh my gosh yes so these are the tempest five ailerons it was a few little parts left over tempest five so the a lines should be here I thought that we're supposed to be finished they're not there's a one across the street is he bent ribs okay we obviously have some cowling there this is a stabilizer and I'll be asleep these are parts spare parts that's obviously the kind of the prop shaft thing that's a prop hub Oh interesting it's actually got a whole one looks like engine mount right there this is I don't know what that is came from England my friend might have sent me a bottle Stilton cheese here just to me oh no it's back here actually okay wait here the wings look great I mean obviously they need June up and fixing it doesn't look too bad oh my god I'm all this tubing here there's a tempest parts and tools oh I bought the whole set of se5 drawn drawings like the most complete so plan it apparently a nice spinner it's got a hole in it oh well more if that means maybe a cannon goes through it or something there's a rudder we filming with Phillips elevators we got few slides here people ought to start beginning guess what this is canopy's a very close I'm gonna give away so it's a steel tube fuselage and that's what all this is in case anything needs to be replaced this is the correct size tubing which is I'm going to give you a clue as metric okay that's a little fun on the back oh my god there's an engine that is pretty sad shape I believe there is a reasonable supposed to be a reason I thought it was I thought there were two ninjas in this this drawings there's a hub is a radiator let's remember hanging in the back there which is probably why I was off-center there's the counting anyway and wasn't happy on that ends that must be engine yeah the other engine must be back there I'm not sure get to it under there anyway there's four fuel tanks the count looks pretty good anyway this was a project that seemed completely put together back long a long time ago I'll bet ten years ago completely put together that personal plane service is a looker in England and you know blue made a great static display and then they just don't work on if they sent him over to Hungary whoever on the airplane it was for sale back then and I ended up you know just kind of watching this project at the time I just didn't have any interest if somebody else who's working on putting money into it and they ended up basically got tired of the project all of a sudden and I got a call from Tony banking he said hey these guys want to get rid of this for a certain amount of money which was like 1/4 of what they were asking when I first saw it I couldn't pass it up anyway welcome to my Russian yeah 9 project pretty cool anyway we'll look around a pickup and pick up some more things that what's up in Florida I really want to see that good engine the other one is just basically uh you know probably when they found it because they since found another engine I'm not sure if it's a clean offer whatever but basically that's pretty cool welcome to my world always Christmas yeah anyway pretty cool oh this is another thing this looks like fuselage tank here anyway and then this stuff here is just basically landing gear and stuff that was you know picked up from other projects or whatever anyway it'll be a great project I have to do a little bit more research to understand exactly what it was I would have been built right at the end more like 45 or something like that so we'll see just found that okay see what we got [Applause] okay it just can't read Russian but anyway the data played the numbers like 101 and 35 or something like that but if they yak-9 I can't remember I'll have to figure out what the model number is I'll let everybody now school and it is now registered as four or five YK pretty cool got that in number just believe yeah we're not gonna unload the container now but what we're doing is I got like some messy five drawings we're trying to get those out put them in the air conditioning we found the data plate I'm over the bed up in my office files and I'm hoping we're gonna be able to take some of the cowling and some of the things off up there to get a better look at the what I hope is the better engine because the other one back there is just all right so these are all the yak-9 drawings here so anyway it's all in Russian all I know is for salsa and gesture oh yeah and I get a little flu bus somebody told me like a yellow blue bus that means I love you Vesey five drawings pretty cool get them in here at some point got filled another storage place I'm gonna get all these containers this is the end of a very long relationship with my friend Tony being personal playing services this is the last container everything in anything that I ever had over Booker eardrum Tony ended up basically shutting his business down at the Booker air drum he's moved to a small airfield he just does small things he doesn't think big restoration projects anymore kind of focused on the car racing deal he still loves the airplane and still plays with takes care of few airplanes with different people waiting basically is out of the big rebuild life changes and things make losses the last one oh my god Russy 500 [Music] okay that's fine fo needs young skins what do you think this is under here looks like the band's yeah this sounds and here this is - they're [Music] all right cool [Music] [Music]
