Mysterious Idaho Secret Santa Gifts Deserving Teacher Big This Holiday Season

[Applause] welcome back we just spoke with actor cameron matheson about his new holiday movie uh on a tv he plays a character tv host trying to find a mysterious secret santa well today we've got the real version of that this holiday heart story you just have to see so for the last seven years an anonymous secret santa has been giving very generous gifts to people in eastern idaho he's paid their bills provided free groceries even paid for funerals a real life reporter and his team of newsroom elves you might call them help this mysterious secret santa identify people in their community going through some tough times now that's when the secret santa then jumps into action all right everybody time for another secret santa surprise we have a special gift for you guys so your rent's painted oh my god thank you guys so much you don't know what this is we're here with a bunch of diapers for the secret santa that heard about you guys is that all right yes sir we would just want to give you this gift from a secret santa thank you so much well here we go secret center helper nate eaton joins us welcome welcome thank you for having me happy holidays happy holidays merry christmas thank you um clearly already crying here so seven years ago this mysterious secret santa nate reaches out to you what does he say or is it a sheep do i know the gender oh it's a he okay and he called and said i have at the time a hundred thousand dollars i want to give away but i don't have a way to find people truly in need and we run a news website so we're well connected to the community so we put a call out for people to nominate their friends and neighbors and we were bombarded with nominations why does he do it what's the motivation obviously it's to give but sure what inspired it well he says years ago when he was a young man living in a foreign country on christmas he woke up didn't think he'd have any gifts from anybody he was all alone he went to the breakfast table and someone had left him a tiny gift like a little toy and he says it's the most important gift he's ever received more than the gift more than cars or money it's the fact that somebody cares about you somebody loves you um i know as journalists the story is not about us it's about the people but i'm sure this has to have an impact on you that you're helping him deliver this when you that woman paid her bills i mean come on tell you what you realize i don't have a lot of problems yeah i i am so blessed and so fortunate and there's always somebody who has it worse off but but the whole purpose tamron like your show is to spread hope spread joy let people know they're loved somebody cares about them oh my god listen you might have the best uh assignment in the newsroom during december i love it so when we come back i'm gonna get myself together and the mysterious secret santa is about to drop a major gift for a well-deserving woman you will see it right here first that's after the break [Applause] santa who gives to people in need every year so this year secret santa has committed to giving away one million dollars to people in his community and we're about to get an exclusive look at one of the biggest surprises this year so nate obviously um this woman's very special she has really touched the hearts of so many and we're going to hear her story but obviously people will wonder where does he get the money from a million dollars to give away he's from secret santa yeah he contacts us and he doesn't want to be known and we help coordinate and it's a lot to give away it might sound it sounds easier than it is but we want to find people like susan this teacher third grade teacher she's one of those that does anything for their students if they're going through a hard time she she just takes care of him she's a great teacher so super teacher yeah okay well grab your tissues tam fan i've got mine as we witness a holiday heart in action a tam fam exclusive the latest secret santa recipient take a look hey boys and girls how are you we're here because a secret santa sent us to give some presents to your teacher it's a thousand dollars to the craft store thank you to secret santa you don't know how much this means i do this to help pay the bills and make ends meet and so this is really sweet oh my word so tell them what that is boys and girls this is a check it's not in the ones place it's not in the tens place it's not in the hundreds place but it's a thousand dollars this means more than anybody can ever know especially this time of year well we have one more thing for her my word the presents keep coming are you kidding me secret santa bought her a car merry christmas thank you thank you oh susan joins us live from her classroom welcome susan hi kids good morning were my eyes deceiving me was that a car key it was a car key yes did the car key come with a car it sure did beautiful car a beautiful car i mean obviously we're talking about the holiday heart and nate recognized you and pointed you out to the secret santa because of all that you do what has motivated you to go beyond um the basic the basic responsibility of a teacher to the super teacher that you are what's motivated that susan when i became a teacher my biggest goal was to provide a safe environment um to make sure that the students needs were met prior to being able to teach them any academics and if you um walk in a classroom you would easily fall in love with these kids and want the very best for them and they they're my kids oh they're my kids oh man what did you think uh when nate walked into the classroom did you think like this is not a parent-teacher conference i don't know this man who is he what did you think when he walked in well actually i nominated a fellow teacher so i thought he was in the wrong classroom so i'm telling him you need to go in a different classroom because this isn't for me i nominated another teacher so i was totally blown away and surprised and overwhelmed and yeah it was just an amazing feeling well if you were overwhelmed then susan secret santa is not finished with you yet nate what do you have what come on take a listen hold on secret santa gave you the car he gave you the thousand dollar check and the thousand dollar gift card he forgot something actually i forgot it he wants to give you ten thousand dollars you guys just it just keeps blowing up and getting bigger and bigger and bigger as anybody knows me i am he's not a speechless person i always have plenty to say but the surprises just keep coming thank you thank you thank you oh susan is so well deserved listen that's so much money nate dropped the check listen wait assistant i gotta i i have a hold of it we're gonna hold it and as they say the
