My top 20 Toyota Rav 4 aftermarket upgrades and modifications (Mods).

[Music] foreign had it for almost a year now I really really like it got about 20 000 miles on it and I've done a lot of modifications to it or upgrades and almost all those things 99 of them have been from Amazon so in this video I want to show you all the mods that I've done and then I'll also go ahead and include you know the the Amazon numbers and all those things if you're interested in putting them on for yourself so I hope this helped you and I hope you enjoy it so let's start right up front here I went ahead and did a video and you can check my channel for that but I installed these driving lights and I really like the driving lights uh the ones that come with it are great but of course they only work when you have it on low beam and these are of course for the fog lights I went ahead and put these on so when I have a long stretch of road and um I have my high beams on I click these on and they fill up fill in the gaps in between they're really not made to go way down the road because that's what the high beams are for these are more to fill in the gaps in case an animal runs out in front of me or something like that I'll have more of a time to react and I have them wired to a switch inside which I'll show you later but that's the first one and I really like the way they came out [Music] all right here's low beams low beams with the factory installed LED fog lights there's with the lights that I installed so I'll turn it off that off there's high beams and that's what it does to fill in the gap so I really like them I think they work great all right so the next thing I did so I went ahead and put these guys on and I really like these um I also the one thing I like is that they're black and they kind of blend in a little more than the silvers but the other thing is is during the day the ones that came Factory Barrel you can barely see a little boink out of here and now you can really see them at night they really do a much better job installation on these things was always like five minutes each side so they're super simple super easy and I do recommend them [Music] thank you all right the next thing is and it's hard to see in here but right in here and right in here I replace the horns um I didn't like the little beep beep and so I put on some so I could be heard to change it out is super easy you just take these guys off take a couple bolts out this pulls off and then you just replace them both for bolts and uh it's really loud it works really well let me just give it a toot toot here foreign so you can tell it works really well all right next thing I got these roof racks they're aluminum super strong they're bolt-ons got them from Amazon and I guess you can get it from the factory and maybe they look a little crisper cleaner but they don't whistle they're really super strong and they've worked really well for me so definitely put on some roof racks [Music] I obviously live in Washington state look how dirty this thing is but um the next thing is is backup lights LEDs got them off Amazon much much brighter the only problem I had was um when you're backing up it illuminates out here but down below was not that good so I went ahead and put on some other lights for that well I did an installation uh video for these and I went ahead and put on these two and they illuminate out all the way through here so I'm not going to hit any rocks or anything I can't see the only thing that happened was when I put them on because the bumper I don't know if you see very well is curved here let me get down a little farther they were actually facing down so I put a little bump out here there we go maybe we see it here a little better can't leave it from the side and so that it goes a little straighter straighter out but they're super bright and I went ahead and hooked them into the actual brake or the rear view or the rear backup LED lights so they automatically turn on I don't have to switch them those were a definite upgrade and there you go that's what it looks like with the extra bright lights from Amazon with these guys put in a little foggy tonight but look at the light it gives off pretty great and this is what it looks like with your screen inside right the next thing was and I really like this a lot um on the hatch when uh Toyota made this [Music] when you turn on the lights the rear light come on comes on up here it does have a small one here but it was so dark in here that you really couldn't see so I saw this on YouTube another man's video really good video and I put these guys in they were not hard to put in and at night they illuminate the entire back end and you can really see a lot so those are definitely a must do so here's the way that Toyota comes so you have the lights inside you have a small light here unfortunately the problem is is when this thing happens to get covered up by anything you see nothing so now let me turn these guys on and this is what you get so you can tell they're very bright you can see everything and I just love the way that it looks that's so cool right all right when it comes to the hitch um I want to get the factory one but I had a horrible sales person at Heartland Toyota in Bremerton God she was terrible and uh she said I could go ahead and get it installed after it came in because this was already ordered and I said great and then they wanted fifteen hundred dollars to do it and I said no so I went ahead and got this one it's a torque lift I don't know if we can see down here or not but it looks factory installed it's a much higher and much better than uh like a U-Haul hitch that goes real low um the only thing that I had to do was take the muffler drop it which was easy with my friend we had it jacked up put this on bolted in torque it and then I had to do a small cut out in here in the bumper which took no time and it was on and it was about uh about an hour two hour job but it came out really well the only thing that you have to do is on the hitch I had one straight out but it was too low so I have one that comes up higher and that actually the ball sits up here and so when I'm towing my boat it's a little uh a little better also when it comes to Towing I got the TRD model I really didn't need off-road I didn't need all the accessories I'm really glad I got them now but the only reason I got this was because it has 3 500 pounds Towing and uh that's a lot more than the XL e or what are the other models which is like 1500 it has a bigger radiator it has a bigger alternator and also it has a transmission cooler so when I'm towing my boat just a lot safer and a lot better uh this is one I definitely recommend and what I'm talking about are these switches I went ahead and and this was literally a five minute change out this pops out you can change this the one that comes originally with this has one light right here and that's it and so when you're looking for anything else up here unlock or anything the other windows it was just hard to find this one at night lights up everything lights up and you can find it so that was definitely an upgrade and I'm really glad I did that one okay the next thing I'm talking about is speakers I replace these two speakers one here one over there this was another uh literally 15 minutes on each side these pop out and I saw a video and the guy did a great video and the main thing he said was was change out these two speakers it changed my whole sound system and it makes it sound so much better now so that's definitely 60 bucks and I've got a powerful uh music system now that sounds so much better all right next on the list definitely all LED interior lights every one of my lights inside I changed out their LEDs not only do they use a lot less draw so if I leave them on at night and they stay on I still have a strong battery but they're much brighter and I really like that so definitely change out all your LED lights interior foreign ahead and got this little guy here and this works out really well the uh my keep my cell phone here glasses room for some other things and I still have space down below so this was great uh just a little bit more space a little more organization all right for my LED lights up front I decided that I didn't want to just uh punch a hole somewhere and have an on off button say down here anything so you can see that I put this switch here doesn't look that great because it's taped in but it works fine right now I finally got in the correct one and my brother helped me run all this taking this apart was super simple and then we ran the wires to here so what I've got to do is pull this one out put this in and it's going to look just like this one so that's going to be really great just haven't quite got there yet but definitely recommend uh doing like a factory install button it's just going to make it look a lot better one thing I mentioned uh when I was doing my um what I like and don't like about the Toyota is I do like having this here on my Honda CRV it actually closed so I keep a bunch of stuff in there and it didn't look like crud so what I did instead was I went ahead and got these queer see-through bags and so I still have a bunch of stuff of course but now when they're here it looks a lot neater and when I grab the bag it's not a bunch of just crap laying in here so those uh you know they were cheap and it looks a lot better all right I went ahead and got uh these little bumpers here that go on cabinets to stop them from you know pounding when they close uh when you're driving down the road trying to find things is really hard so I went ahead and got these little guys and then when I'm driving I can go to Echo normals in the middle and then hyperdrive is here but I can actually find it the thing that I did was I put them in a few places the other place I put them my lights up here I couldn't feel to find my lights so I put them here and then I just go forward I can turn on my lights I can turn this one on turn it off and then I can find it turn on both the other place that I put them was down here and this is for my defrost my lower window defrost and I actually have a heated steering wheel and so now I can reach down find it turn it on find it turn it off and so all right inside I went ahead and put on these fake carbon fiber things this is silver underneath this and then when you're looking at the mirror the reflection of the silver kind of got in the way so this made it darker uh so it didn't reflect so bad it came with this one here also came with this one here and actually I kind of like the way it looks now I went ahead and did them on the side too I just put these on and kind of covered up the silver and blacking it out and I kind of like a little better but this one was really the only reason I did it start with this one so that in my rearview mirror it didn't have the reflection so much on the window so another Amazon product of course this is just a little blackout cover here I was driving and the Toyota silver here uh the sun would come in and bounce off and hit me right in the eye sometimes it was irritating so I just went and put the cover on and actually I think it makes it look a little bit better uh and it just helps stop the Reflection from the Sun all right a dash cam I really recommend nowadays everybody has a dash cam and in case somebody uh break checks you uh you know something flies out in front of your car off somebody else's trailer and hits your car you're actually going to have it recorded So this one here it faces forward it has rear camera faces back I kind of like the idea of having one all the way back there this dedicated because this one just shoots through the cabin but this was a hundred dollar bill it just has a loop on it and so I never check it but if I got into an accident I'd be covered at that point so easy to run just right up here around here down and then it plugs in here so definitely get a dash cam this I really really like I think it was one of those things was on Shark Tank actually which I don't really watch anymore but it's uh it's to fill the gap and I like this because I'm not dropping a cell phone down here anything I drop just stays right here it's easy enough to put in you just put it over you stretch it you stretch it forward you put it down it comes on both sides and this thing is just a and it kind of just Blends in so for me I think that really worked out really well all right in the trunk uh trying to stay organized there's always stuff that gets spread out in here so I went ahead and got this guy it works really well it unclipsed really fast if you need it off but I can keep in uh just some gloves and uh towels some cleaning stuff some of my tie downs are up on the rack but that organizer it allows all this space to be open I used to have one that sat back here with all my stuff but I was constantly moving it in and out and this guy really super cheap and it works out really well and it gives me a bunch of room if I need to fold this down I just unquip these two things it comes off and I fold it down so that guy works really well so there you go that's what I've done in the last year as far as modifications uh it has all the Amazon information so if you want to get some things that's the way to find it and I said that hitch um oh I would mention that hitch is right for 5 000 pounds this tow is 3 500 but nothing will ever come off on that hitch it works really well the next thing I am going to do let me just turn around here when you open up the door there's no light in here I'm going to put puddle lights underneath here and I've got them ordered and I'm just going to have to figure out how to find the fuse so when I open it they automatic come on I'm going to put two on this side two on the other and I'll do a video on that when I get them but that's uh pretty much I don't know if there's really anything else I can do on my RAV4 than the things that I've shown you so hopefully that helps you hopefully you enjoyed it and uh stay safe out there
