My SECRET To Smooth Speed Ramp Transitions!

so i've recently been making these car reels  and i've received many many many comments about   how i make these smooth transitions between the  shots and to be honest it's just speed ramping   well actually there's a little source i like to  sprinkle on top but more on that later so speed   ramping is pretty simple on premiere pro go to  your clip right click over this fx square time   remapping speed now you have a line that changes  the speed of the video holding controller command   click to make a point where you want the speed  ramp to start or stop now you can click and drag   this line to increase the speed to something  like 500 percent but let's move this out by   clicking on the left side of this flag thing  moving it to the left and now we have a speed   wrap now you can actually smooth this out further  by clicking on the flags and dragging this little   middle handle around to smooth out the edges  of the ramp but i find this makes a very small   difference you do have to select the right clips  to go next to each other for example if they're   going in the same direction left to right right  to left or if you're doing a consistent movement   you can actually speed ramp from one section of  the car to the other section of the car and it   looks really really cool you can combine that with  adding some slow zoomings to make a very dynamic   looking shot such as this one anyways the secret  source is liking this video so that the youtube   so the sauce that i sprinkle on top comes as  a solution to the following problem what odd   thing do you see about this clip from my opinion  it looks very jittery sharp and kind of jarring to   the eye and the way that we fix this is by adding  motion and now the show is more in tuned with the   laws of physics now there are two ways that you  can add motion blur one of them costs you money   the first is using the real smart motion blur  plugin now i paid for mine but i know there are   some other ways that you can get it so before you  use real smart motion blur add an adjustment layer   over just the sections that are moving and  need motion blur to avoid blurring the whole   video and causing your computer to set on fire  dragging the plugin it's got a whole bunch of   settings but you just have to increase the blur  amount until it's something that looks realistic   smooth however if you don't want to  dodge out the money for this plug-in   or you can't find a tutorial showing  you how to get it then you can use   directional blow add an adjustment layer and  directional blur keyframe arrives on a drop the only thing is that with this method  when you add it it creates this random   vignette around the clips so you have  to zoom in slightly into the footage   so keep that in mind when you go out  filming and make sure that you film   a little bit wider so if you want to use this  on your next car reel but you don't know how to   get them consider watching this video of  how i even got started making car videos   links to project files and any plugins mentioned  down below and i'll see you in the next video
