[Music] [Music] climb to 10,000 is approved runway 3 through when to continue that construct in the air right now we're clear for takeoff here comes the jet up to full power good engines here's come the afterburners you'll feel that kick in the pants and there the afterburners lighting and we got good ears be there's 60 knots 70 100 124 130 here we go there you go you're flying here in flaps are coming up there's 20 feet for there's fifty real level off there's 275 280 300 ready to go ready [Applause] and you're climbing away no problem [Music] [Applause] if you left it shorter you see how high we climbed how quickly we got there [Music] [Music] [Applause] if you look that over your left shoulder you'll see the airport that we just climbed out of not too bad huh if there's Bieber way down there [Music] [Applause] so how you do it so far oh yeah I apologize [Music] [Applause] [Music] is that you absolutely yes let me undo for something I looked up to by radio going here one second [Laughter] [Music] [Music] and then below it you have our G so right now with boner 1.0 G straight and level flight that's or expecting that number below it is our peak G so at some point today which was what we just in life take over to where we pulled seven point one G's so I'm going to clear that out so we can track the next G spike like I said yes instantaneous so we probably only hit seven point one G's for a fraction of a second out but you've helped it do we got your left actually over your left Sodor is PI the island that will pass it right now kinda great there and then Savannah Airport right one o'clock so we've already traveled to Savannah in terms of light commercial airliners like yeah we all have the moment if I was trying to fly although I would go up right in their normal air as we keep passing airliners and stuff we add the ball the world much lower than they are where I show you a phone call cool walk one step once let me show you two cheese tighten down the free jeans and then tighten down the four G's after that like I said your body's going to natural resistance to G's so no need to really flex or strain at all your body will be able to handle these ease but don't flex your legs feel free just know that you may think you're passing out but you're not your body is just getting used to it and that's fine just a blunt kind of leave in your head but we'll go ahead and show you what that feels like all right you ready to go so right we're gonna do two three and then four G's no couple right so there's two g's there's free geez and tighten it down there is four G's I built so far alright the next thing we're to do is more of a fleet style jiwon so I'm gonna take you right to four G's and then tighten down to six GS on this one Dupree you may need to give it some legs or some abs but again it could be a quick concentrate and just kind of see what it feels like hi regular little left ready hit so there's four cheese and there's sixteen all right how you feeling okay yeah that's fine that is not uncommon we're gonna descend out here and get set up like I said so those are first G movers I'm going to show you some of the aerobatic say you'll see in the show these are going to be pretty low G so just enjoy them and let me know what you think we're going to do since you said you see the blue edge will perform is what's called the diamond role so it's one of their first maneuvers they do we're coming from behind the crowd yes um climb up and do a graceful 360-degree roll so I'm gonna get the jet climbing up top 20 degrees notice how I'm gonna start a left roll if I was gonna do a nice lazy roll all the way back around the horizon it's good below G no needs a strain or stress just enjoy the ride and probably Oh to see it in your current state but once you see the video up on the plate we'll have to smoke alone so you'll see that little trail coming up behind this sometimes if you get a good good turn around when I trying to smoke one you can see how the corner I but I'll let you know what to look for it all right get down here smoke is on are you ready to go up for a diamond role all right here we go so if we go there is those eyes there's 1015 20 here comes the roll and they go at 90 degrees to start coming through inverted upside-down even that will come in there's 90 degrees if there's you got the back side of the roll what do you think yeah yeah we'll have some pretty good ear popping so how the day is the cabin in the plane presser kind of rotates all right you ready for the next maneuver all right next thing we gots called the half Cuban eight so we're this is the very first maneuver at the jets do on takeoff where I'm up there vertical as we flip over back so they go by the half a loop we're gonna roll the jet up right and continue down the backside straight up and down on a half Cuban eight all right spokes back on and we'll see this as we get over the top and you ready to go up we go so not much more than this this two and a half GS will hold that through the first part of this loop for choir right between this cloud there's 55 degrees those house and 75 there's night you were straight up and down now you look back over your shoulder you'll see that smoke drawn we started forget the nose tracking back all the Jenna price yeah okay there we go there's your half Cuban eight builds up our alright next whatever we do is kind of like the half Cuban eight except instead of rolling up right we're gonna continue all the way around so just like the loop on a roller coaster we're gonna go up and over the top and then back around you ready to get the hell out try it take it so we the same thing not really high G just enjoy the ride so get a little bit more speed here look I do the same thing right through these little scut layer clouds all right you ready to go all right up we go there's again to an empties that so we go up and over the top first 35 degrees nose high there's 45 there's 75 straight up and down now we started back for its the ground you look up you'll see that smoke train we started he's a little bit of power and then we look to flyer or right back to this hope trail little bit more G coming down there's two g's we'll hold down all the way through ain't going right through the smoke where we started how you feeling all right pipe you'll pop flying upside down yeah little bit so we did that fine upside down with palm positive G so next time I say worth like this hang from the straps and negative 1 G so again don't worry got your stuff fit nice and tight there so big things once I roll upside down don't try and pull yourself back into the seat or push yourself back into the seat with the canopy or something just hang there don't breed a hole under those straps or the handles here left and right for just let your hands float up to the ceiling whichever you feel like but as you'll soon see so you can with positive G's force that blunt back up into your head to remain conscious with negative G's there's nothing you can do PO relax all the Bloods going to your head it's somewhat uncomfortable and you'll see hold you there too long just long enough to see that you don't like it probably then we'll roll back up right so do know some people do really like it I just so you know a standard grey jet can stamp side down for about 10 seconds we have a special modification our jet upgraded fuel pumps and we going to stay inverted for about a little over a minute so imma turn those pumps on just in case but you'll soon see why you don't want to stay here for a minute all right you ready we're gonna roll into the left ready go all right ready hit and there you go you're flying upside down so if you look up there you see the ground which is not mobile and as you can see just kind of a coat hanger but we had a little push here yeah alright what'd you think of that nice alright next I'm going to show you the fly-by-wire flight control system others yet higher flight control its allows our jet to be very maneuverable and all very quickly so there's on that diamond roll that was a nice lazy lazy roll right now I'm going to show you a quick spiral you'll see it a lot of our solo maneuvers do but first I will start you off slow I'm gonna give you about a half stick the flexing of the roll so about half the rate you'll normally see and now I'll show you the full one after that say go again no this is no G this is gonna be a quick spiral jet you're ready to go for a googol left ready say nice gentle alright now we're going to speed up to the solo speeds they don't do about 400 knots and I'm going to show you the full deflection of a jet [Music] all right there's 383 and 90 all right you ready to go all right ready do you see a little bit snappier before aggressive all right so you see a lot of our aerobatic maneuvers some of our fly-by-wire flight controls high-speed now I'm gonna show you how comfortable the jet gets at low speed so on the deck the jet maybe remember the boat analogy with the bow to get a nose off nose down so I'm gonna slow the jet way down I'll show you how nice and controllable our jet flies at slow speed so right now we're at three hundred and fifteen knots with a three point four alpha AOA essentially we're gonna climb that free number up to a twenty five and then what you're gonna see there is if you look over your left and right shoulder you see those wings they're gonna be extending way out of the airstream seriously those leading-edge flaps dip into the air as the jet becomes very controllable high alpha so they feel like we're kind of floating in the air no is gonna be conch way up in the air if you can see our smoke want to turn it on out the back you'll see the kind of billowing out there but then once we are done with that I'm gonna show you how much power we still have available light the afterburners I want to climb straight away so again this is a benign but we're just enjoy it and take it in so there is 220 knots unless you put the speed break out to slow us down even quicker there's 205 200 185 184 it's up there's one 71-64 156 150 into the set so there's 13 of us you were getting even slower there's 1516 18 19 21 22 there's 24 coming at 25 smokes on if you can look over your shoulders and see it but you can see how jet just easily hangs he really have a whole lot issue is real controllable for me I can go left right whatever we want to do but we're holding about a hundred and twenty-five knots so about a hundred and forty miles an hour so this is a sports car to go to show you how much power we still have smoked so here comes full afterburner just climb right away there you go yeah pretty neat huh all right so you've not seen the slow performance handling of it yet you want to get close to the speed of sound all right so I'll show you let's stay slow here by 175 knots once we get point it back towards the North I'm gonna wipe you half the burners I'll show you how quickly that jet accelerates how quickly we can get up the speed of sound once we get towards the end there you got your first decision of the place so I can show you a high performance climb where we put the jet straight up in the air and then do a couple of those spins if you want but to do that we'll have to do about a 7g pole towards the end there it's over to you're going try it or if you want to move on to the next one you got about 30 seconds this side but about a minute so we'll do the high-speed run then I'm gonna start slowing down just let me know if you want to do it or not just continue to slow down and don't worry about it you got time but I'll ask you if you do want to do it though if you give me yes I'll give you already hit it and then just give me a full legs Brent agsm like Carl taught you and you'll be just fine 5 to 10 seconds but no pressure alright here we go we're gonna sue the acceleration first so 250 knots alright you'll do just fine alright look man that left screen so we're going 235 knots 40% of speed of sound here come the afterburners so there are the afterburners lighting we're already at 275 300 333 seven and there's 400 knots we're going at 70 percent of speed of sound 75 percent 80 percent 87% there's 94 we're pulling phones back that the jet is gonna want to go for the speed of sound there's a 97% of speed of sound we're going 600 knots and 650 over the ground so you're moving pretty good if you look out the window there you see us as close to the ground pretty quickly all right we're going to slow down a little bit all right smoke is on so that keeps slowing out of it before we go up in the air yeah are you ready to go alright ready you're halfway there and you're done you're going straight up and here come the rolls that's it oh think so picture with you back here if you look your right window curiously the smoke trail where we came from and there you go there's your your climb and your spirals yeah that's fun Oh No you're doing great all right next thing I got for you will give you a quick break here another one people tend to like this is helping zero-g flight so not necessary something you'll see in the demo so it's kind of a unique ability that we have being a fighter jet here I'm going to show you what it's like to be in space so we're gonna pick the nose up I don't I'm gonna unload the jet just kind of do a gentle pull up push over and you'll get to see with like to be zero-g so completely weightless Hill pre let your arms hang out your legs hang out and just enjoy it for a few seconds alright we'll get our inverted fuel pumps on just to have them and we'll get down here and get ready to go all right you ready here we go we're gonna get the news tracking up I think crazy all right here we go there's 1g and there is 0g so your pluton just like you would in space so you got the weightless arms weightless legs oh yeah while you're back there up now there's 1g yeah like your folks out of control yeah I could see that like the pressure yeah all right next thing I got for you is what's called the minimum radius turn so again over D if you want to do this one this is the maximum performance turn capability that yet so well you've already pulled 7.2 G's in that last pitch up we're gonna pull less than that for pull six and then ease it back to four the only difference with this one is that it's going to be a long duration so it'll be a 360 degrees of turn about 15 seconds or so yeah punch your legs your abs do the good breathing the cot you and I'll be telling you how much further you have to go and how won't you have to get there if you want to try it you want to give it a whirl so you want to move on alright so I like to hear that's all right all right I go to the left a sorry here and I'll let you know we're about to go all right roll went out zero five is zero all right you ready to go ready all right there's our six cheese and I'll bring it back there's four and a half all right you will halfway there keep fighting it or get there you about a hundred degrees left to go keep going about 60 left 30 2010 you're done how'd you do what'd you think don't worry [Applause] awesome good that's what I like to hear [Music] all right well you did great for their anybod ubers we did that you want to do again a see again we got about five or ten minutes left of fuel to hang out here with our head back but that is a whole card I got for you okay wait a hangout we also have a 10-minute transit back to base always I head back but yeah over to you okay alright I'll keep it straight as I can we'll start doing some some gentle turn I want you know if I have to turn the jet for airspace I plan to start heading back and then we'll see how you feel the way home oh yeah yes everyone so well yeah would be the boshi kind of stops that's when everything kind of hits you but you also get a lot of that acceleration/deceleration kind of plays with your inner ear and that mainly what happens [Music] my favorite maneuver is the high vich into the vertical with with the rules so when we did at the end of the high speed run that's not like but announcer has that everyone's favorite maneuver it's a pretty it's a pretty aggressive one yeah what was your favorite maneuver yeah yeah that's was it a lot of this is a people kind of psyche themselves out before it actually happens a lot of it is practice live it's also a little bit technique so we practice every year in this interviews so a lot of it we can do by just flexing our legs our abs and right now I'm doing that and you can see that it's just normally the room I G's for a long periods of time now really flex down to the full kick maneuver as we call it but once I get on top what's your ahead of the G's you kind of lacks and if we learn how to work only as hard as we need to so for the break big see that normally gets people is they're just tired so biggest advice I give you is just work all the way through it I'll be talking to you the whole time let you know how much longer you have to go we're almost there people bent you're done so yeah you'll be fine all right we are almost there we're gonna turn down here oh well just sit down and then speed up and I'll give you uh I'll let you know right before we go you got this [Laughter] all right spokes on everyone's looking at you full brake right over the hill the field so everyone can see you we're go left all right well there's 1,100 feet bring it down a little bit more and we'll drive out the scent of your field it airs at 9:50 and there's 800 reliable it off all right you ready to go you got this ready [Applause] all right 34 degrees and here there how are you doing do you tell me the video we'll have to check it out watts that may baby all right well we have fear that one with a popsicle we're clearly in a long wait to three lastly I'm gonna show you this is called a carrier approach so unlike your Delta jet which lands nice and gently with a minimum rate of descent we're gonna land with a pretty heavy rate of descent something around the six to eight hundred feet per minute however what you'll notice is that the jet does a great job of cushioning that and our landing gear really absorbs that shock and it's a relatively comfortable in the plane sayo rolling out three degrees those low thousand feet per minute we're gonna kind of hold that hold a putz down there's 800 700 and then boom yeah there's our landing gear does its job welcome back thanks for coming with us
