My New Chainsaw, & A life of Wood

alright guys I am pulling in I've got some cash in my hand I'm going to pull in to this place right here and I'm gonna buy something you want to know what it is stay tuned there it is guys this is the farthest north harley-davidson outpost Fairbanks Alaska look at that that's what I'm after a new steel chain saw [Music] morning look at this place this one it's a nice small chainsaw which we got plenty of big saws at home and then there's you know one similar to what I had before which was my favorite chainsaw I don't know there's a price difference about a hundred bucks and I'm just thinking about which one to get I'm super excited to get a new saw [Applause] [Music] look at this guy's oh my gosh my new chainsaw it's gonna be awesome and thank you Brian thank you so much for helping me today you very much he was so helpful and look at this guy's my new Chase I just spent a fortune happy cutting oh yeah sweet thanks so much thank you guys pretty cool do you know what this means now yeah I gotta get to work let's do it well guys I got my new chainsaw but what I haven't shown you is why why do I need a chainsaw so badly let me give you a tour of the property here behind me is the cabin we're building this is our third or fourth fourth place in Alaska we've built this is a stockade style log I'd actually just stained that front this morning it's looking good this whole place because it was built with log it's nothing but a giant debris field of logs you know Dave's been cutting these Aspen dropping them then the tops are everywhere we have wood upon wood upon we have years and years and years worth of wood it all needs to be cut up it all needs to be put in piles right now we just have a lot of piles of just like 3 and 4 foot sticks and oh we're heading into a big storm coming up days and days of rain and cooling off whether winter's coming got to cut some of this stuff up I needed a new saw but let me show you why so we have lots of piles like this absolutely everywhere go down the property you just see how much wood there is laying around it all needs to be taken care of but just wood everywhere wood wood in more wood easy always meets the neighbor buddy down here see her coming today but so much wood more wood more and more more wood burn piles more wood more wood everywhere look our wood piles it's bad so mama needed a new chainsaw I'll fire it up for the first time tonight I'm excited get to work it's new saws look at that they just twist off you don't even need the scrunch just kind of nice look at it she's a beauty that's my new one so that's a 250 it's fired [Music] [Music] it's awesome I love it oh I got so much nicer than anything I've had and so long very very cool I've been running a chainsaw for probably two decades one of my first Jobs was running a chainsaw on a river restoration crew in Michigan and of course living as we do in Alaska and Michigan we've always burned with wood so tons and tons and tons of wood needs to be cut a couple years there Dave wasn't even well enough to cut wood because he was so sick and I did the wood all by myself so I'm really really comfortable with a chainsaw I only do a couple of things for safety I always have a pair of glasses on because man I oh you can get stuff in your eye so easily leather gloves and then of course long pants and leather work boots give me good ankle support you got good purchase when I'm walking around these are good [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] Howie [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] got your dear leg that's your leg that's a good girl that's a good girl get it get it was he daddy go to Daddy get him take that one those two right there [Music] [Music] there you have it guys my new chainsaw it's like I can't tell you what a gift a new chainsaw is very very cool I'm going to be using it for years so guys that's my new purchase hope you liked this video if you did give it a thumbs up love to hear your comments below and by all means if you're a female out there learn how to run chainsaw have someone teach you and show you safe handling and it's not that hard don't be afraid all right guys this girl in the woods she gone oh don't get oh don't forget to get outside and get happy
