MY FIRST AFRICAN SAFARI: DO's and DON'Ts in Nairobi National Park, Kenya

Nairobi National Park is by the way the only national park inside the city worldwide it's very [Music] [Music] exciting oh it's pretty much hey everyone I'm now at the airport here in Cape Town and and today we're flying to Kenya if you're flying from Cape Town to Kenya you have to go through passport control it takes a while it took me an hour to get here hi everyone my name is Tina I recently quit my job in Tokyo to travel and I have been to about 10 countries in the last 3 months and now I'm in Africa when you leave your Lounge you're directly in front of your nose is your gate and they haven't started boarding it [Music] I got off the plane everything was fine I edited straight for like 4 hours being on the plane is the most productive time I have because you don't have Wi-Fi I was looking on the screen and there was nowhere like a flight from Cape Town so I thought like what okay but he came right [Applause] away thank you okay that's my name [Music] hi was about a 6-hour flight uh from Cape Town to here I don't know for how many of you this is important interesting but for me as with the German passport I can travel a lot without needing a Visa I just needed an e visa for the US for Kenya I need one for Egypt for [Music] example they didn't take away my food which is always a win nice Airbnb from outside and the hallway doesn't look so pretty I just hope there are no cockroaches or even worse maybe mosquitoes I just got bitten by a mosquito on my ear yesterday was the 31st so happy New Year even though when I upload this video it's going to be already in the middle of January hey guys and good morning today is going to be a very exciting day we are going on a safari it's going to be my first Safari here at Nairobi National Park and I quickly have to go to that hotel from where we're starting at uh in the city center coming to Nairobi in Kenya one of the things that you definitely want to experience is the Safari nice to meet you I got myself a tour with nature path travels who took me on an amazing day trip to Nairobi National Park and the giraffe Center if it is your first time in Africa or your first Safari I would recommend you to book a tour or get a guide because it will make your experience so much more valuable oh my gosh oh my God I'm here with the tour company nature path travels and so if you're booking a tour company um you're getting a proper car where the roof is open and you can actually see uh animals take pictures uh usually you're not allowed to leave the car aobi national park opens at 6:00 a.m. so we are here very early now it's uh Pride outside now I can see it w it's very exciting Nairobi National Park is 117 Square km large and is open all year round it opens at 6:00 a.m. in the morning and you either want to go there early after opening or later in the afternoon or evening to see the allance can't see them can see them they're far away Nairobi National Park is by the way the only national park inside the city worldwide worldwide by the way you will spend a couple of hours at Nairobi National Park so make sure to bring some water and snacks don't forget to bring your good camera make sure that all of your batteries are charged and maybe also bring some binoculars to get a better glimpse of the animals just like casually walking by yeah Nairobi National Park is hosting a wide variety of wildlife including the endangered black rhino lions leopards cheetas hyenas buffalos giraffes so we found some Lions again here and we've been following this one female lion for quite a while what's also really fascinating here in this park is the skyline because you can see Nairobi from right and left right in the beginning of our tour we stumbled up on some female lions which are definitely some of the animals that you want to see one of the big five but we still had to look out for male lions Nairobi National Park is located about 7 km south of Nairobi Kenya so not too far away from the city center and you can do several things there for example visit the Nairobi animal orphanage which was founded in 1963 and is located inside the park feeds on trees we just saw White Rhino and I just learned I feel a bit stupid um they have white and black ones here in Nairobi National Park and guess what it's not about a color and then I can tell you that white rhinos are easier to find it's also a group of the an if you're going on a day trip to Nairobi National Park you probably won't see all of the animals but you will definitely see something interesting oh wow on some occasions the animals will be far away on others you will see them up close as for example This Heart Beast the large African antelope we just found this incredible bird here that is the biggest bird that can fly looks impressive it isn't really doing anything okay moving on very normal day here in Africa um when you're coming to Nairobi National Park you can also Arend a car and come here by yourself but chances are high that you don't know where to go because usually the drivers and the tour guides know where they have to go they're communicating all the time here telling each other where to find the animals so highly recommend you to get a tour we found SAS like most animals are like brown some brown color mhm they're black and white they actually black and white this one is the common what really surprised me was that most of the animals including the sepra here that really not care at all about the cars that we're driving around later on our tour we also saw some ostriches sebras and W talks or if you have seen The Lion King you can also call them Pumba I actually heard a lot of people using that word the tour company that I've been using nature paath travels is a premier like a rest stop and we're stopping here quickly to just like take a break and because if you if you're coming here you want to come here for a couple of hours like five six hours or so so until you've really seen everything uh 23 from from which animal right the the bubbles they also got crocodiles here but maybe we don't we are not going to see [Music] one [Music] thank you to people keep telling me about the black rhino but no one has really seen it seen this the [Music] [Music] professor good yeah yeah we are on the road again after our break on that note roads here are very bumpy it's maybe another reason you want to book a tour I would not want to trve fear myself to be [Music] [Music] honest they don't [Music] care hello Hi how are you oh yeah fine so hey guys we left the national park and we're now at the giraffe Center maybe I can just the we going to feed the giraffe uh-huh uhhuh so we're going to go to feed some [Music] giraffes just one one basically here directly around the corner behind me is this very famous hotel here in Nairobi giraff Maya if you haven't seen it on YouTube I would highly recommend to Google it um it's extremely booked out until June or something so it's super super popular and it's also quite expensive so I can't really stay there at the moment but it would be so [Music] nice [Music] that's it I guess um they also have a cafe here you can also get some food and drinks [Music] here [Music] [Music] do you eat made made from wheat FL together or just like this do you eat it just like this or together or everything you can eat everything alone yeah yeah so hey guys so we just had lunch a little bit of late lunch right it's it's all how maybe 2 p.m. already and again I booked this tour today with nature path travels you can
