My Favourite Dessert Spots in London | SOHO | 8 Sweet Eats to Try Before you Die! | Cupcake Jemma

well hello there me and Sally here at the crimson Tony shop and we've got a couple of hours off and I know I don't normally do this sort of thing here on the channel but we figured we would save a little vlog about what we're gonna get up to see the cars we've got a couple of hours off we can command quite a lot of sweet stuff and so we're gonna go to some of our favorite spots in Soho and maybe try some new ones at lease or you might like to come so okay so we're at cafe donata which is new it's been open for about a year and it specializes only in pashto Sonata which are the Portuguese custard tarts and I actually have a recipe on my channel but there's probably not quite as good as the it guys to be brother knocking hundreds maybe thousands of them every day they break fresh on site every morning night yep and they've got like a load of different flavors which I've never seen before so normally it's just custard with the laminated pastry but these ones looks like they've got some with blueberries and some coconut and raspberry and chocolate though yeah it's really excited to try that it's never heard of it [Music] we got decided to buy three which take much afraid of doing it so we've got the classic obviously and then we've got a raspberry one and a chocolate one which we've never heard of before but we're gonna give them a cache is the man said it was one of its favorite yeah and they look amazing so it's time to you have a go okay I'm gonna have to fire a bit early yeah okay actually wasn't expecting to dig broad bridge hmm mmm that's very nice and top this is great I've only ever habits in Portugal and this is pretty up there flaky lamination is very good delicious it's not too sweet it's not too fun I like Blackie no it's really good you can tell The Dispatch yeah just a yeah we've got a lot we got plenty a room which great news because we're going to go to the next place [Music] very pretty we're here at major shoe and they specialize in choux pastry especially and eclairs and every single one is like so all the colors and all the decorations are perfect from one to the next which makes me very happy yeah my inner my inner OCD person is loving oh so we're going to go and get whatever their speciality yeah [Music] oh very nice there they just gave us a free shoe cat fun all I did with us how you pronounce it she was like do you want to try it and I was like hmm so simple look at the so we've got four different flavors here because well with mainly because it looked nice in the box we even thought we better gets extra ones even though we've got way too much already this amount of effort that's gone into every single Eclair is Justin Rose so which one are you going to try um I want to try the vanilla so pretty and I'm gonna try the parry breath because I love it Stephen a well I think we can probably whack it out that custard inside it is so mock they believe them banana banana Festival I've got like a hazelnut cream mmm and a whipped cream like a Chantilly cream and then this stuff which is nothing but a really roasty-toasty hazelnut paste and then this stuff is done is that nougatine yes there's a bit of almond brittle basically on top doesn't it I think it's like no but it's tasty amazing and the choux pastry is so thin but kind of crispy and light remembers perfect yeah no I'm gonna try this one ago great a bit amazing it's really smooth I'm never nineveh you look gold on your lips magical night there's a lot of the time you get a person they're so sweet kind of chewy yeah and I don't it's not my kind of go to pastry but and actually this has got a lot going on in it but isn't actually not too heavy yeah like I feel like I could smash another five if this is easy bubble tea bubble tea is a Taiwanese drink which is super popular all over Asia really popular here in London these bubble tea is one of my favorite ones in this discipline and also they do everything from scratch they brew their own tea they use real milk rather than kind of weird powdered stuff all they're kind of additions so bubble tea will be like little balls of tapioca or little jellies or little kind of exceeds seeds like you know like blue pcs and Sally's never had one so she's very excited yeah [Music] Wow very exciting in that I got I asked what their biggest selling thing is and it was the Hong Kong milk and I've got mine without them I got passion through with some passion fruit tea with blue brief popping a pearl oh yeah I got knows what they are but I got tapioca and each popping pearl but I really like the tapioca because it's kind of gummy and weird okay well so let's give this a go my first ever soccer team they really do pop noise let me tell you I wanna show you an actual thing I didn't get a thing No the thing is that's my money the mine is like a really strong black tea without milk and it's not too sweet and it's put all the yummy blobbies yeah I think I prefer the popping pearls kind of chewy in it chewing and drinking I keep them separately oh I've got a top tip not to get popping pearls and tapioca pearls together because you don't know how to approach my I'm waiting for it to pop and it doesn't anyway this is great yeah I feel like this is a bit of a palate cleanser probably gonna need some more kakie sweetie Suganya yeah [Music] so we're here at Gillette May which is my favorite ice cream gelato shop in London made in the world there are like so many ice cream shops opening all over London but this this has been here for like nine years we think and it is the best it always has been and probably always will be definitely and I whenever I go out for dinner and Soho if I don't like what they put the menu for dessert I always spend sometimes by doing even I always come here afterwards and bring people because it's just they've got so many different flavors they change the menu flavors every day like we do it from somewhere they make it all here as well I think they do matches yeah I know we're using like four sort of fresh seasonal ingredients and they've got tons favours you want to see what they gather definitely my favorite place today whatever in life so far today please many to go yeah I got em requested sour cherry that do one of my favorite right here so good bye yeah taste it tastes like pudding but knowing like a feeling heavy way and I got peanut butter stracciatella oops which I wouldn't have got because Sally's actually allergic to peanuts and I thought it'd be nice if we share but then I tasted it and I actually was like no I'm gonna have to get it because it's so oh my god it's dripping everywhere it looks good okay Baba are quite surprised that you went for a cup you're not on a cone girl because I like to eat my container maybe if you get a cup you get a little scooper okay it's such a nice sunny day but honestly I could eat ice cream in any weather especially if it's in there but nothing yeah I ran into Sunday we were three is the golden gate cake shop and we're in Chinatown right now and this is the go-to place when you want a cake there are quite a lot of that like baked recent picture up in Chinatown it's a bit like Chinatown in general you don't really know which ones to go to yes this is the one this is really famous you quite often see people with like whole cakes on the tube when you see the sign and it's like Golden Gate cake shop but there's a couple of things in there that I really like that you're not allowed because they've got clean up there sorry my favorite is the peanut butter yes label kind of little fun things like hidden treat [Music] we have to keep everything separate because I got a peanut big thing and I don't eat and it's basically like a really nice fridge and you can see on topic for us and it's just I do not do plainer than fuller like like and my candy floss but pokey once upon a time would have maybe very excited there's not anymore and I've got butter cream peanut burn which is a really soft squishy bun which is probably the same in banja day this side yeah but mine has like a peanut e cream filling and then this really yummy kind of crunchy peanut stuff on top which I love and I love it so much and erskine and shove it in my face just over go but pay for the bottom wait is just a simple one other thing because they're just so cute we just harvest this game thank you I think it's a I think it's just like a regular pastry but they've really really had me on there like a little cannon ball it's kind of sad to eat him but I'm just gonna buy it later really green is it good well it's very dry leaves stuff kind of like a face oh I just got an eye oh yeah she's really nice what is that every type water-based and I wouldn't yeah like what was there yeah not a bit like them look at Margot on but not marzipan texture but much nice but the Kundalini flavor is really interesting this is great all together right we've got more tea okay stick around in Chinatown so yeah come with us [Music] [Music] so this is a mamasan and this is the second location for Filipino ice cream shop and they have loads of Filipino speciality desserts start including this thing here which is the pillow which is soft milky Peninsula here filled with a nice ice cream and as you look a bit do based on which you yes ube is the purple yam and it kind of tastes a little bit like this dip almost it's but it's the most beautiful color and so you're gonna get that onion I'm gonna get a hollow hollow which is what I've had it before and it's like the most insane drink so more like drinks with Robbie bits and shaved ice and like crunchy things and yumminess too much talk let's go look at the color of this this is the ube which is the kind of yam type vegetable that tastes like tastes like biscuit here we go I really just use the hair and the color is all-natural it's amazing like so it looks like a little bit like a sweet potato pie like long like yeah because a yam and but inside it's this amazing purple color and its really unique taste I've never yeah tastes good or anyone get flavor vegetable who knew and so this is like in a kind of a milk-bone that then filled with the ice cream and toasted so the buns super hot and the ice creams have cut barbershop oh I can't eat too much of this ice-cream because I got really geez I'm it's making a terrible mess but mine this is a hollow hollow and it's got did some of that yummy ube ice cream this is like a cutback of custard flan stuff for cornflakes brought some texture we've got shaved ice which has condensed milk and a coconut pulp we've got some red beans as well kind of just a bit of everything and I think the general idea is it's actually quite dangerous and then you know try and get a scoop with a bit of everything in it so what now you can do [Laughter] oh wow yeah that blonde is Buffy I mean hmm guys like the super thick custard mm I think this is my favorite so far definitely but we have got more gender the one we're going to do literally laughs it's just about ten steps away so we've got a lot of work to do but a lot of eating today so we're at Cova which is a Japanese faithfully here in Chinatown and they're famous for a couple of things like the mill crepes there's like a matcha one we've got a child are gonna try that and then there is they do like matcha tarts with the thing in the window which is called a sea salt cheese larvae Wow I mean I don't know what I do so if we could have to try that stuff in here fingers we've got room this capacity yes still yeah I'm gonna fill it up so we got one as the magic rate Mill Creek and one of the lava sea salt achieve things because I just needed no way looks amazing that's so this is the moon grip and you can see it I don't know how many that maybe like 20 Emilia million worth and it's matcha flavored which is obviously a really traditional Japanese flavor do you think this is custards what are we saying I don't know about me I've got your forgiveness oh wow that's amazing right Oh oh wow cuz I'm free you look is that custody with web becomes material but mattress a so much as ever we're just so nice when it's mix and sweet stuff let me just drink it as tea and it's quite overpowering but when it's not this sweet yes and look at this isn't that sweet my god Greenway no no wobbly choice whether it's sea salt caramel cheese no it's no caramel sea salt cheese lava cake and it has this cheesy stuff which is basically like a liquid salty cream cheese which they pour over the top and they make drinks with it in there as well it's kind of like oh they put it on like the head over a bubble tea it's a really light sponge just like I think it's like a body and it's got this kind of really airy oh wow so light YUM not actually really I mean I don't know why I wouldn't have thought it was nice because I love salty things and I love sweet things and I like cream cheese what's the worst that can happen and apparently you see so it's quite a big flavor in Japanese dessert look yeah only internet the must apparently posting is amazed that's so like this might actually be my favorite eating today I think it might be delivered just my heart so I I'm gonna have to stop eating this though because we're going to go to another place now I don't need them runs which is why where they save this ill-fitting tonight in the religion all right so we're here at Jochen is our last stop and we are gonna go and get an ice cream sandwich which is what they specialize it but instead of using cookies they use macaron shells like big massive my phone's really chewy it works really well with the ice one side yeah so let's go get some so here they are they're pretty large that they are pretty low bigger than my Fuhrer and then I've got an Earl Grey em ice cream which has got hints of bergamot orange inside and I've got a watermelon one which has chocolate see really cute we're not entirely sure how is it he said I'm gonna scoop it because my teeth will not stand them sensitive I think I'm gonna get it in there we go I knew your mouth would be big enough big mouth I can't possibly compete with my food - delicious this is my watermelon sweet mmm YUM yeah the Earl Grey and there is really really good let me try it I'll go and oranges great we're gonna English favors yeah money of my bubble see this morning those are really good macaron shell right I'm pretty full I don't need a coffee why don't we go back to the shop however we espresso do a bit of digesting yeah definitely sit have a sit down one great idea in a month home sweet home back in the bosom of her own little crumbs and doilies so what's your favorite bit I have the filler from Amazon with their who make ice cream yes that's sexually need flavor yeah and I love cotton cold also it's nice to meet purple things well juniper is my favorite wave and that ice cream would not have a peanut butter straight to each other and I loved it but the other put they are the sea salt flour cheese yeah that was amazing that was really good yeah I think affected that way yeah so that's it's time for a nap don't burn that wasn't a favorite yeah yeah and then after the savory a little bit more sweet happy why not yeah well hopefully you enjoyed that and if we've missed anywhere and so high
