hello and welcome to homeschool piece i'm cassandra i'm a homeschool mom of three young kids and today i'm going to be sharing with you my favorite office supplies and organizational tools that i use within our homeschool space my favorite item in my homeschool room is my 10 drawer rollable cart this cart i call our work boxes on the outside of each of the drawers i have a simple label my children each have a drawer for each of their core subjects so here's my example for our math with my three children for my son if i was ready to do his math for the day i can simply pull the drawer completely out of the cart and that's something different compared to other types of drawer systems so the workbox comes completely out and inside that workbox i simply keep my teacher manual his workbook and then i pull just that worksheet that we know we're going to do for the next day and i put it right on top of the drawer just to help us out when we start our lesson after the lesson is complete whether i'm taking that drawer into my kitchen or i'm outside with it i can slip that drawer right back into the cart and it keeps all of our subjects very organized i've used this cart now going on three years i love it it's held up really well so if you do not own a cart like this i highly recommend it my second favorite item in my school room is my marker and pencil spinnable caddy i highly recommend having some type of caddy for the center of your table especially if you're gathering your whole family around for table subjects this caddy i purchased at michaels and i know there's a lot of different marker and pencil spinnable caddies out there that other homeschoolers use i really like this one purely because of the size i really do not have that large of a table right now that my kids use and some of those caddies that a lot of other homeschoolers use they're quite large and they're just too big for my table so if you're looking for more of a compact size for a spinable caddy this one has worked really well it's almost like a fabric type material it's coated as well i've had this one for probably about two maybe three years and if it ever looks like a little dingy i'll just take a damp rag i'll wipe it off and it looks great after that and this caddy's been holding up really well so go ahead and get some type of spinable caddy for your homeschool room my next favorite office supply is my laminator i love to laminate i love how it looks it keeps those pages protected longer so i use this laminator and i have for many years now it has held up really great i buy the laminating sheets on bulk through amazon and anything that i use for calendar time sometimes our science work even just chore charts i will run through our laminator going with the laminator i really like using the wet erase markers so the wet erase your child would write on the laminated sheets and then you would actually have to use a damp paper towel to wipe off the marker so this really helps so that it doesn't smudge and they can do more writing so whether they're tracing something or just practicing something for their calendar highly recommend the wetter race along with the laminator one thing that you'll probably find in any school room is a whiteboard or chalkboard on the wall here in our school room i have a very simple whiteboard that i use when teaching outside of teaching on that whiteboard i really love these student size whiteboards on one side the child can practice their handwriting but on the other side it is blank and they can use it for writing math problems we're on the go a good bit or i do schooling outside so i will just take these white boards with us and we'll do schooling right there wherever we're at along with these white boards i also have an easel style whiteboard this one i really like because i can actually lay it flat and i can write directly on it it's just easier for writing on it and then i can prop it back up it's also magnetic so if we're practicing with our letter tiles that are magnetic i can stick right to that art style easel for the white board so that works really well for us in our house so i love the student boards and i really love this art style easel for the white boards and i use it all the time when teaching my next favorite item in my school room is my three tier rollable card this item is actually new for this school year and so far i'm loving it so my family is a sunlight family which is a literature based curriculum so it means we have a lot of different books that we're reading so for this cart i'm able to use one tier for each of my cores that i'm going through through the sunlight program so my son has the middle tier and he has his instructional manual as well as any of the school books that either he's reading or i'm reading to him and then on the bottom tier i have all the books and the instructional manual that my girls are going through together and so i love that i can take this cart out of my school room i can take it to any other room in my house it has everything that i need for the books that i'm reading and has really so far has really helped me organize my sunlight material so if you are a literature-based curriculum family this tiered cart has been working really well for us when i first started out with homeschooling i wrote directly in my teacher manual so if we finished a thing for the day i would just write in pencil or i would check it off what happened was is then the next year when i was trying to use the curriculum again for my younger child i would have to sit there and do tons of racing so i found these little post-it arrows and they're great they just stick right on the page and i will put one arrow for each of the subjects that we're working on and as i finish that line item for the day and we achieve that goal i just move that sticky post-it arrow over to the next day just to keep going and know where i'm supposed to start next using the little post-it arrows has been perfect especially if you use sunlight and has kept my instructional manuals nice and clean related to all the books that we read i've also found that sometimes i misplace books or i just get confused of which books go with which instructional manual so if you find yourself that you have a lot of books and you're trying to keep track of them for your curriculum i highly recommend the washi tape it's really fun tape that doesn't leave any marks and you can get this at craft stores and office supply stores and you can even bring your kids along and let them pick out whatever tape that they want for their curriculum and you can just stick it on every single book that you're using for that year so for my daughters we are using our pre-k sunlight program and i have the purple striped washi tape on the outside of my instructional manual and every book that's along with that core of that instructional manual has the same purple striped tape and so whenever i'm putting books back on my bookshelf and i have multiple years of curriculum that i'm trying to keep organized this tape on the outside of all of my books in the instructional manual has really helped me stay organized my next favorite and so simple item is clipboards you can pick clipboards up right at your dollar store and they are used all the time in our house i will send my kid out of the school room to go work on their math problems you know in a different area or i'll send them even outside to work and i just clip whatever they need to work on right to that clipboard and send them on their way clipboards are amazing in your home school life and i highly recommend getting a handful clipboards for your day my last favorite item that i wanted to share is simply storage bins i use a variety of different storage bins because they all have very different purposes in my room so i like to use the clear plastic shoebox style whenever i'm storing craft paint glue or maybe stickers i like to use these small dividers that are used a lot of times when you see for embroidery and i like to use those when i'm trying to organize any of my small craft supplies like googly eyes or glitter or little sequins so i highly recommend like a small container a few of them for organizing your small items i also really like these clear plastic cases that i store my flash cards and so if you have a program that has a lot of different manipulatives and cards that you're using these clear plastic cases are great for storing those items the last thing that i have in my home school room is just some larger bins that i put some for this one's just our science supplies in it so i would say there is not one size bin that's going to work for your whole entire school room but look into getting different types of bins for different types of jobs and so far these ones have worked really well for our home those are my favorite office supplies that i use right here in our home school room so if you are interested in those products that i shared go click the links that i have below in the video and if you have any questions leave those comments below and before you
