Camiguin, from its name, it feels like a place to you want to visit again and again. That's why I am here. Welcome to the island born of fire. Camiguin is composed of 64 kilometers circumferential road. It's so small right? This is the second most smallest province in the Philippines. But we should not belittle this island. This island is packed with natural resources. Like waterfalls, ocean, or mountains. Whatever the adventure, let's conquer them all. Hi, I am Xzar, a travel filmmaker. When the pandemic hit us, I lost my job. I got bored so I tried cycling in my hometown, Until I got further and further. And recently, I've built my expedition bike, and decided to travel full time. I am now bike touring the islands of Luzon to Mindanao. Take note, this is not just a cycling channel. This is all about chasing adventure, going out of your comfort zone, meeting strangers along the road, learning a new skill, teaching content creation hacks, and riding at my own pace. Hit the subscribe button and join me as I wander the raw beauty of the Philippines. If you watched my previous vlog, I biked from Surigao City going to Gingoog City. Good morning, this is Xzar, your bike wanderer. I am here now in Gingoog City. I'm on my way to Balingoan Port going to Camiguin. Camiguin is actually my second favorite province/island and I am so excited. I ride out at 10am, and I arrived 1pm at Balingoan Port. Before entering the island, you have to have a booking on a hotel and QR code via cleancamiguin.com The fare is 300 pesos and 70 pesos for the bike. I just arrived here in Balingoan Port as of 1:30pm and the trip departure is at 1:45pm The process was smooth, thankfully. When you are in Mindanao, Balingoan Port is the port going to Camiguin. The trip is more than 1 hour and 30 minutes, and we are going to Benoni Port. I just arrived here in Camiguin. I'm so excited. The place where tourists stay is in Brgy. Yumbing, Mambajao. It is 25 kilometers away and my goal is to arrive there before the night. Even if there is no one welcomed me here but I was welcomed by the beauty of the island. This is actually my second favorite province in the Philippines. I am so excited that I went back here. Camiguin sounds like Come I Again. I'll be staying here for 5 days. Look at this view, there are scenic mountains around. The weather and their boulevard is so nice. After 15 kilometers, I am here in the Capital, Mambajao. I checked in at Dreamland Beach Resort. I just arrived here in Dreamland Beach Resort. Xzar being welcomed in Camiguin After 4 days of biking, it's time to get some rest. What a tiring day, thankfully, the place that I am staying is awesome here in Dreamland Beach Resort. They have two bedrooms here suitable for family, but were just staying single. For tomorrow, I might just relax because I've been cycling for 3 days straight. Hey guys, this is Xzar, your bike wanderer. And right now, I'll be doing the Camiguin Loop. It's around 60 kilometers with a twist. We will also be exploring the falls and some attractions here in Camiguin. But I didn't took a rest time. I savored the time to do the Camiguin Loop. The island is composed of 64 kilometers circumferential road. I won't be settling to just bike around, we also have to wander around. We are here in Katibawasan Falls, we took a steep route for 5 kms. Still manageable. The first place we visited was Katibawasan Falls. Going up, it takes 3 kilometers. I lost majority of my energy from that route. I just arrived here in Katibawasan Falls. I came here before for a travel shoot and it's so good to be back again. I was accompanied by the Camiguin Bikers, which was referred to me from Baybay, Leyte. From Katibawasan Falls, we went to Mangrove Park. They have a lagoon where if it is high tide, the water is on the other side. Now, it is low tide. After lagoon, you will pass by Mangrove 200 meters away. And we also passed by the town of Guinsiliban. You will encounter steep routes when you do clockwise route. It has a forest vibes and there's not much vehicle around. It's kind of uphill, and the area is secluded just like in Catanduanes. That thing right there was taken down by the Typhoon Odette. In the town of Catarman, you can see a bunch of attraction. Such as the Sunken Cemetery, which I will be exploring in the next few days. We just dropped by Bonbon. Their Old Church Ruins is located here, and we're gonna explore it. I am here in The Old Church Ruins, let's see what's inside and the it's history behind. Of all the areas we passed by, the Tongatok Cliff is the most scenic spot. Bidding farewell to the bikers I supposed to get some rest until I just knew that the hiking schedule is at 2 am. Good morning, it's 3 am and we're going to do hiking. Ofcourse, I didn't had a choice, so we're going to hike 1200 MASL in Mt. Hibok-hibok. The only active Stratovolcano here in Camiguin. The people I'm with in this hiking is my first time being with them. It's 4 am and we're about to start trekking here in Mt. Hibok-hibok. It's not too tiring since the weather is cold. We're halfway to the peak of Mt. Hibok-hibok. This is the route I am taking right now and so far it's still manageable, and not too technical. We just passed by the Mossy Forest, and the weather is getting colder. They said it will take 1 hour until we reach the summit. Xzar: How many minutes left? : About 15 minutes The other members insisted that he is honest + joking around Bisaya Rap We're almost in the crater. Just 5 minutes away. It feels different if you have accompanying people with you. We just passed by the crater. It just recently sink in my mind that I am in a Volcanic Area. The weather is cold since we are in a high altitude area. It's okay to wake up at 3 am if going to a worthy place like this. Peaceful. Sometimes, you have to step out of your seat and embrace the nature. With a place like this, it's really a stress reliever since you won't think too much about other things and problems. It's raining now. I am going to have my lunch. From crater going to first summit, the route is technical. There are ropes that you need to hold onto. We are hiking despite raining going to the summit. We are currently taking a technical route. We just arrived at (First Peak). : We're not yet on the summit, we still have a lot to go. We just reach the summit of Mt. Hibok-hibok. Unfortunately, there is no clearing. We just have to have an extended patience since things you desire will come. We just reached the peak. There's no clearing. It's sad but I enjoyed the hiking process because of the people I am with. We're going back after 5 hours of trekking. I'll just do a food trip around here in Camiguin. The city of Mambajao is 6 kilometers away from the place I stayed. Even you are in the city, you won't feel the usual city feeling because it's not too busy compared to mainland. I dropped by here in the shop of Pastels, Vanders. We will cut the first part right here since 20 minutes won't be enough to showcase the things to do in this island.
