if it possible I think an external radiator would work the best but the case only has one other hole and you would need 2 for the radiator :(
Yeah, wasn't really surprised that it failed with two power hungry components. It might be something to consider with RX 6900 XT that is 100W less and just go full AMD?
This has me slightly worried as I'm planning on rolling with an undervolted 3080 and a 5600X, however that probably should be fine given that that's like 2-300 less watt than Ali's setup.
Holy shit. So glad this dropped. I spent hours last night trying to troubleshoot this exact issue and was ready to call Nvidia to RMA my 3070 FE.
Kind of surprised they attempted to cool extreme components with what is effectively the stock cooling setup: 1 rad + 2 slim fans. Especially when there are some excellent options for adding cooling capacity here in the sub that might have balanced that build.
Maybe there is a part 2 coming.
You can buy Gen4 risers though, right?
This is a weird thought about this case that I keep having.
With the radiator, I notice most people put their fans on top of the radiator as exhausts, which is fine and understandable. But Ive noticed alot of setups do that.
Can you not mount the fans under the radiator to having them exhausting still, but pushing air through the radiator instead of pulling it?
With those components on a 750W, that doesn't surprise me that a power cap helped. I've read that the draw can be over 400W in some scenarios, so there isn't much head room when you factor in the 105W from the CPU. I just don't see enough room in that case to have good heat dissipation and a good enough power supply to handle the boosts that hardware is capable of. I would guess that there's just a hot zone around the center of it with all those tubes threaded around and a solid water block.
