really happened was we opened i wasn't gymnastics yeah that's right and i've been working here ever since exactly exactly why are you blowing up the snowman there were two snowmen in the field one and you've got loads of moles i feel like we're reminiscing here just back to the good old times when we used to vlog together so many people say what are you going to do with neil and narva we never here you guys well if you've never seen me before i'm a gymnast my dad is my inspiration my hero my teacher of life my coach and everything these last six months or so it's reversed and he's turned into a gymnast so in this vlog today we're going to tell the story of how perhaps you've seen the thumbnail on title how he's had an incredible body transformation just by joining in gymnastics and trying to train with me doing gymnastics training style how that's been for him hopefully inspire you to take some value away from today also we're going to give him a gymnastics test to see how much his skills have developed over the last six months i know i said 30 days but it's a better title it was a better title one dad christmas and he's had a few heavy nights on the old uh in a few every night on the older i don't know what what's that food i don't take drugs when we're young in order to get in the league squad we do something called conditioning testing we used to go to the national center and everything it was a massive thing in order for you to get on squad so we're going to see how you fare with some of these tests first one is mobility and flexibility you've got to be able to switch to the floor i just want you to put your front foot on that sliding pad we're going to do the splits all the way to the floor okay when i was wanting to do the muscle up tom never had me doing this 20 starting january off with a three-week reboot it's a great vibe man it's good energy and i really want you to be a part of that just hear the information that's the top link in the description gonna be awesome see you there talk about the journey as a whole what happened where did they start so it started it was almost like um i'm at the gym every day because we're working so much i sort of may as well train it was something i thought i might as well do it so we did some training but it became more than that because then change i wanted to do a muscle up it became it became gymnastic centric tom helped me with the training to build towards doing a muscle up which just seemed a million miles away from me but he gave me all the different exercises that i need to do basically started doing all the exercises that were linked to muscle up so your goal in the beginning it wasn't anything to do with how you looked as a human being it was all to do with a specific skill it was all to do it was all to do with a specific skill you know there's a lot of pride and passion as well determination i wanted sally and joanna and you to see me do one you know when we talk inevitable dreams you're all here watching me when i actually do the first one so i had no goals about body over weight loss of time when i my body started to change part of the whole change is training every day even if it's a small amount i do my exercises every day believe it or not i do do some stretching every single day and i'm lucky because i'm supporting with running the gym i'm in the gym every day so i can train every day because you've i know you and you the audience but you trained all your life yeah so do you think this style this gymnastics bodyweight functional style is definitely accelerated the process for your body change yeah 100 completely different completely different to resistance training with weights and people's you know goals and desires about muscles and bulking up this has changed me in ways that no training in a in a way could it just it's unbelievable okay so next on the test is his pull-ups tune-ups we should do his maximum as many as we can in 60 seconds in march when we came to lockdown came here to do a little bit of training he could not do three pull-ups i couldn't do three instead back looks big i've grown up and lived i've never ever worried about my body i've just been an outcome focused on my gymnastics ability and being the best athlete it can be but by taking part in gymnastics the body and the way you look just sort of is a byproduct and i really like that that thought process to starting or partaking in your fitness journey whatever it may be because i do believe training everyone should train some for some way or another personally i think when when you focus on outcomes of the way you look what you wear losing inches it's an unsustainable gear game in my opinion so hard to sustain because it's not a it's not a passion it's like a calculated diet driven process that is like i'm losing this amount of weight and it's also there's also an end game to it it's about endgame so when you do lose that weight what happens then you should put it back on whereas with a skill based or whatever it is if it's bodybuilding or lifting works it's like a strength-based alcohol or outcome good gymnastics there's millions of things that you can learn here so when you've got when you mastered the muscle up you own them all and then you want to do two then you want to do a different skill and there's another there's 15 skills on rings that you can learn and that's only one apparatus i just want to promote that and i think you're living proof of it now you know there's an argument saying that right i want to do a muslim when i've done a muscle up tick it's done i i do want to do two you know tom always says to me one could be a flu two means you can do it yeah so it's almost like you so you've got two in your head so so there's all of that going on but also what what happens is when you do do a handstand for example tom will say tighten your belly button and tighten your core so that so when you're doing a handstand and all these different moves you're always tightening working your core the next start prepping the muscle up is dips body weight dip incredible exercise upper body and a chest and perhaps has been doing lots and lots of these as you can see we just start building up to the muscle up really i really want to show you how much look today this is transition finishing [Laughter] with vlogging in july almost trying to get dad to do his prep get back up you can do it yes there's so many bruises down here man you want to try doing a double somersault to land up bars in your arms roll a clip of that at least please whoa oh you're actually an awesome [ __ ] man start like this i don't know if they're too low so you start like that and then replicate the movement yeah five months in the making neil wilson absolute body and mind transformation is just gonna part of the journey for me as well is my choices have changed so you start seeing progression you start seeing things happening and then your choices just change we've just been through the period with you know a christmas and chocolates and all that kind of stuff you you have a choice to have it or not have it and i'm not criticizing anybody having it it's just you end up in this place where you think right my choice is not to have it choice not because you're on a diet no no if i want to have it i will have it but you just end up choosing not to i i eat what i want when i want in that mindset it's just freedom but like you say your choices change all the time because to be honest the way you feel when you achieve a muscle up or you're training every day the way that makes you feel is much more affiliate and enjoyable than eating 10 quality streets and it's amazing how quickly it changes as well do you go from should i train i should train i really want to change i haven't got time to training all that felt good i'm enjoying this i'm seeing change i've got a train i want to train and all of a sudden as well you think i want to have decent man do it for all the dads out there working hard themselves for their family for the kids give me some come on give it something let's just take that straight in front of your hands straight for any runs oh come on oh my god i'd be really careful if i was you emily because it's really tricky really really tricky to do roll that voice it's an amazing sport it's amazing for your body at any age and the changes that you see on a personal level in terms of achieving goals and things that you are aspiring to do and along that journey your body changes and you're fitter and healthier you are you are going to flick up these amazing photos aren't you absolutely the ones i've been taking as well right where you know when you start getting up so the world the environment
