brakes on what if you're gonna drop your bra gotta put it simply gonna learn how to do it with a rope where he takes it from there's up to him I'm training to what I know so well that's what he's going from me he'll learn stuff from other people as he goes along as this journey is left for me he's learning how to work trees with groans that's him just ropes so that's just how it is for me anyway because that's what I know how to do at least we can hang balls crosses we give you all that stuff and we will do that you saying today he's going up to treat with me side by side refrigerator better tree to train a guy on side-by-side literally about six feet apart at the top so we can really get close to one another I want to teach Hogan how to rig trees with a rope I just want him to know that craft and to know the natural crotch rigging I want him to know that as he goes on his journey as a tree man okay so that's what we're doing here we are we're here which one do I want he says to me well let's take a look here we are so so we could probably fall us but he's got fruit trees it's just you know it's not always about fall on the tree it's about what's the smart thing to do here well we got side by side action the smart thing to do we're probably 80 foot trees these are probably 80 foot 75 80 foot trees big timber here though so we're getting geared up we're gonna go up side-by-side strip the foliage off and kick a topo and we're gonna teach yoga how to hang a top on a rope just over a lemon underneath in that so we'll just be careful going side by side here so actually I'll take the back one son because that way you can just kick one right in here and you don't have to worry about the car down here the hot rod Nova I'll take the back one yeah so we're all we're all saw pants up here and all safety geared up hard hats and all that today friends we're gonna make a little bit of a better effort to keep our safety rigging up for all the young fellas watching I know that I've been known to be a little bit maybe not that good at the PPE scenario the Spurs yeah do you want to use these we can lower them so we're getting geared up and the old man here bucking he likes his padding you see I've been doing it for a long time and I had these little tea towels and these are full wrap full rot caps I really like them they're they're great but I do add a little extra padding and usually that's because I climb in jeans or downtown pants you know you're downtown Browner CC but today we're going full on we are going full off full on safety gear cut there's there's called a drop cut where you go underneath like the one that you get pinched on but just just focus in just under and it's got to be this is way different than straight grained it'll stick if you go like that it'll stick like you mean cut exactly it'll it'll screw the cut up it won't drop there's called a drop Cup and a jump Cup the drop cut will drop straight down the jump cut actually jumps it's called a jump jump in a drop and what it is underneath is your first cut always then if you if you hit it over here it's called a drop cut but if you hit it here it's called a jump cut and it jumps and allows the butt to kind of flip up I want you to start will learn the dynamics of that but you gotta be straight trained you gotta be like this I want you to just try this in this in these next couple rungs so again just take your time get like the next cuts gonna be the one of your left hands on just perfect do it do a drop cut and a clean up cut of about a six inch stub gadget I just want you to practice that stuff okay okay let's do let's do that and I want those cut straight off on the grain not twisted or those thick but I want you to and then leave it cut through like a third or not quite and then your your top cut comes in straight down like a snap cut it's like a snap cut but stop cutting watch what the limb does okay go ahead time brake on when you start it's not what I want to happen no that's a big ride so if you had a flex so that fine gloves a lot of ride began it was spindly and that was a lot of friction we he you don't need that much friction you can literally just let the thing go I can go anywhere so I should undercut before I tie it [Music] [Music] [Music] this is straight-up primitive Reagan friends I'm teaching them just how to do this process okay oh that's fine okay this is gonna be beautiful come up around the bottom of that limb overtop of it first so around the back of the tree yeah like that and throw it right over top of the limb okay now bring out about eight feet six eight feet of slack yeah keep it coming don't drop it keep it coming keep it coming keep okay now this is how this is done you go underneath the working end the working end is the top you go underneath that no no no just straight underneath it yeah and up and tie it off now you tie okay now get that out in front get the cork rock exactly so you see what that does now it keeps the rope and everything there so there you go now you go up it's over top of the limb correct there you go you're fine so now you you've got enough slack you need to tie a clove hitch there now some so pull a little more slack Bo vets keep it taut let's see that grab the bottom part and pull like okay looking God now no pull it the other way well yeah like that now tie a half hitch there so so between the bottom rope okay let me see please that all looks fine now grab that and put a half-hitch there between those the one in between the moral and the knife edge secure it between yes tie that off put a half hitch go up and now go through though like tie a half hitch there that's a half hitch now tighten that up by yes up pull up and push that knot up against the clove exactly there you go do one more just like that there you go that's that's us that's a clove hits secured that's what that's called okay you're ready to let this freakin talk go bud so you're gonna let it go you're not even gonna grab the rope because it'll create a bit of friction on its own and it'll be less but now I want you to get that get that get the thing out in front of the knot yes like that there you go there you go that's perfect yes now you're gonna get behind and you're gonna put your back cut in you're gonna get comfortable you may have to push this there's a little bit of wind Barkham do it mark your sides then bring in the back cut you do not want to cut your wood off you want to come even like this see this piece and would you want to come even like this you're gonna cut it yeah I would like to see you cut it have a hand you know even just watch the tree as you're cutting it and shut you're soft and let it go is what I'd like to see so just get nice and ready there you look you look pretty good and comfy yeah you look you look good there are those knobs in your way okay put your cut in I think you may have to push it you may not hogan is topping his first rig in his first top he's not gonna slam it he saw the ride I went on he didn't want to go on all those I don't blame him I don't usually have that much friction this is a lot of friction he's just gone up and straight through and over top of that lamb right son Ganges is talking his first trees big moment okay it is No you wanna leave about this much mana leave about that much holding wood Gidi okay this looks really good really good how much holding wood you got do you want to take a little bit or do you think it's going to go it's pretty juvenile here it goes take a there let's see so what that was was basically just letting the talk go but the nice thing about it is it it had friction not a ton hogan if you had to had gloves on he could have held the rope and
