My Apartment Dog Masters in Indoor and Outdoor Potty Training

hippie time good girl we got olive when she was eight weeks [Music] living in a city where rain falls almost half the year and a high-rise building made it difficult to go out for potty each time in order to avoid the frequency and for the flexibility we potty trained olive both indoor and outdoor [Music] it definitely wasn't easy at first and olive didn't like the training much [Music] oh my gosh [Music] but as time progressed we saw there were less accidents but more reasons to praise her [Music] we wanted to give olive the flexibility to potty outdoor as well in case we were out when she needed to go surprisingly this took a while likely it's because she was used to releasing indoors and she never really stepped outside till she got her first vaccination potty training outside was a bit long shorter than indoor but certainly longer than we thought but we didn't find it as difficult than indoor and that's likely because it was just a long walk and waiting around for her to go same principles lie here as indoors the key for us was to develop a routine with frequent walks and rewarding each time she went potty we tried pee pads fresh patch but eventually converted over to using the dark letter it's basically the same concept as cat litter but for dogs the reason we chose this is because they have clearly defined toilet area with raised sides to help prevent urine or stool from getting on the floor so a higher chance that olive won't miss another reason is that we don't need to replace it as often as pea pads so we save cost we also don't see any visual stains as we have with pee pads and they're easy to clean up as long as you're proactive with cleaning up once in a while most dog glitter is said to be tough on odor we haven't used any other brands other than second nature but can agree that this works well for us and we haven't had any issues so far you might have wondered why we have a small lamp next to the dog glitter dogs are said to not have great night vision and we only found this out once we saw many accidents happen overnight so since we found that out we've been putting a small light before going to bed so she can find her way to the litter box if she needed to go at nighttime [Music]
