MUSICIAN REACTS to Post Malone Goes COUNTRY

what's going on guys derek here so today i'm going to react to the post malone ghost country video on matthew mcconaughey's youtube channel i had a few people send me this video telling me that i should watch this so uh i'm really curious to check this out i know i have um i think i've done a couple posty songs on my channel like acoustic stuff that he's done but nothing country i think i've seen a video of him playing or covering a bob dylan song on guitar so i know he's a fan of country but i'm really excited to check this out so anyways let's jump into the video this is post malongo's country on matthew mcconaughey's channel this is posty and i'm gonna be doing a couple songs for the weird texas virtual benefit and very grateful and very happy to be a part of this and i want to say thank you to matt and everybody who's involved this is going to be fun for me because i never get to play with you know like a full band got a couple great musicians and we're just here to play some of my favorite uh country-esque cool martinis sir cheers cheers guys thank you guys very much he's always got bud lights must be paying a bunch of money [Music] well i [Music] well i'm gonna [Music] is [Music] [Music] still smoking a six too yeah so uh i love it man i love this stuff i uh i didn't expect him to sound honestly as good as he does vocally and he's not really playing guitar yet but um it's a more traditional song you know i'm going to miss her by brad paisley it's a a very classic country song and has that classic country feel to it you know it has that kind of boom chuck a strumming pattern and um you have a lot of like these seventh chords so this d7 that a and then the c it's just um it's got a very traditional country feel to it and i was curious when you know the title said post malone goes country what country songs he's actually going to play so this is cool and solid solid choice on his part [Applause] yeah that's still guitars i love steel [Music] get is when i get home [Music] i'm sure when i walk through that door [Music] i've got [Music] [Applause] so cool this is the best this is top 10 best days of my life do you guys have a bedtime no no call me [Music] [Applause] [Music] so i think um i think this is a sturgill simpson song let me look it up yeah sergio simpson god that's what i thought it sounded like sturgeon's song um and this one is is a little you know quicker tempo than the last one but still has that very traditional country feel to it obviously it's a turtle song so he's more traditional some would even say americana but to me it's traditional songs in the key of a the chord progressions uh so far in a to a d a i think it's e major so you have you know the one to five one to four sorry one to four one to five so very common classic country chord progression and the strumming pattern is like this almost this this train b so it's very continuous so it sounds something like so something like that and so when you add chords to it it sounds something like this [Music] so something like that it was a little messy but get the idea it's just that continuous train type of um swimming pattern that was very common back in traditional country [Music] where they come [Applause] [Music] know you know the other thing you can do too in terms of strumming for this instead of doing like the continuous thing because i don't think he's actually doing that um it's just kind of like a i think they call it like a boom chukka so you would go on the a and then you do the same thing on the d boom so something like that you could do that as well for this charming [Music] is [Music] [Music] what the [Music] [Music] is [Music] [Laughter] man he uh gosh he is so talented just like overall as a musician you know a lot of people consider him you know as a rapper which is what a lot of his you know most popular music is but i mean i've seen a few videos of like him visiting guitar stores and playing guitar and obviously the bob dylan cover that i mentioned and he is just so well versed musically which i think helps him in every facet of his of his music you know because he is so gifted uh and talented on guitar vocally all of it he's able to create cool melodies and music regardless of genre so i think he is just one of a kind a very unique individual and artist and that's just why i like him a lot i'm a big fan of posty and this just makes you like him even more at least me so um yeah thank you for suggesting that guys that was awesome i hope he does more of this and maybe maybe one day he comes out with a uh country album we'll see i hope he does that'd be pretty cool anyways thanks for watching i hope you guys enjoyed that video let me know in the comment section below what other songs i should react to and teach appreciate you guys and i'll see you in the next video peace you
