This performance is excellent, all of their stuff really is. They do a phenomenal cover of Dylan's Boots of Spanish Leather.

Saw them in concert a few months ago. They are just as good live as on recording. And they’ve got a great story. Started as musical collaborators and became lovers. They have a child now. One of my favorite groups.

[Music] you I try to close my eyes clear my mind and just listen to the wild fire scroll such whispers on the breeze don't come easy now overall this know I spent my youth they used to sing at 8:00 so find in a way like an echo carry their boys [Music] I saw it in a dream honey made some trees is the air we BRE turned her lungs to dust and the redwoods so tall and all they're all began Duras [Music] no bend and sway it off that ancient dance was in the way by Nikhil the side [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] someday I hope to find the funny one where the coffee grows on the wide of trees no sugar-coated mountains in the spring begin the mail to the sweetest streams reach night starlight and the sea together for maternity anyway it's like an echo there's a world chop saw to sleep [Applause] [Music] I count stuff off too fast when I'm nervous on the let him do it it's very well lit in here we're not used to that [Music] at my gate I'll always greet you that's my door you're welcome in there can be no transgression as a means to an end so the wind the wolves are howling open arms to close and fear helping hands are clenched in a Broken Hearts beyond repay everything's so great can't get better makes me [Music] there she stands too tall and mighty with their keen and watchful eye and the heart of a mother Oh now to God like it's a hard road to travel this old rock from in the end Sun it rises on the brow and sets upon the green space [Music] take it back [Music] there she stands too tall and mighty their gaze face in the East matter back our doors are closing as a grin and bare our teeth don't win the wolves are hell she cries there drawing near turn around turn around my darling [Music] everything's so great thanks me [Music] tonight yeah [Music] [Music] [Applause] well not every song can be happy so we'll do one about the lost my mom here to continue down the sad train people are always really happy after our concerts because all the sad music is done [Music] so it's really a public service what we're doing [Music] yeah but about to be a little sadder with that g-string be out [Music] just like an old friend kinder than expected that Cadillac King gave our girl the right loss has no live it binds to a connection we don't speak of it we don't even try you could help me trouble you got burning it and you can help me in a night time together [Music] my goldmember's [Music] I miss the old hands she just sing spero spread their mortal now they've all lighted silence street light notes on the pages she breathed life into all things if he could help me share the trouble you've got burning and you can help me in our time together [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] like an old friend reach out to me and bathe me in the life understand [Music] try to help me share the trouble you've got burning you can help me night time together [Music] like don't ember [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] this is gonna look really tacky I'm about to pull out my phone but it's because that's where the tuner is the only one we brought today we're not even singing right now [Music] we're really proud to be here tonight it's really cool to be a part of this event and hear a lot more about all the things that the North Carolina Arts Council is doing this year to honor so many North Carolina musicians a lot of whom haven't been honored enough yet yes but we're really we were both born and raised here and we're just proud to be part of this community and I think being North Carolinians we've also written our fair share of protest songs which we're going to do a few of tonight [Music] hey Adam our secret safe [Music] but I hope the world will learn go tend Eve in the garden cry pay attention to these words feel a fear that hoses spirit ears understand down and I have come to tell you that I father loves [Music] waves [Music] the lighter [Music] preacher and blah calling our love sin [Music] many flames arise in many heart slow down well I am light in your shadow but I know you'd rather play by my father [Music] wait [Music] some grow weak and angered few grow we can paint his eyes are holy tell theirs - ain't so hey Adam our secret sing but I hope the world learn [Music] even the garden [Music] my father lives [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] well we're playing mostly our Tunes but we thought if we're supposed to be representing North Carolina music we should play a fiddle tune too when we learned from a great North Carolina fiddler named Reyna Gellert you know she does a better job of this but not in the mood [Music] [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] she kicked that one too fast for the record now we'll do a little song that I wrote for some deer that hang out in our backyard does everybody here have deer in their backyard they all all live in North Carolina I grew up hunting and could never find a deer and then I moved to Chapel Hill into the city limits and there's just like 15 deer always in my back yard now I know I can never find them they were all here in Chapel Hill [Music] [Music] somewhere in the field of clothes she waits for me she frolic in I'm in the spring no scavengers so she is free some way in a field of club she waits [Music] as a cars [Music] highway I'm saliva and she slid on the side of the street but some way and feel she waits [Music] now off these hills alone to stumble [Music] after but somewhere in a field corner she reigns for me she frolic same way [Music] eleven straight no scavenger so machine she is free [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] if I know how old this house is I would say so I'm having a ball that sounds very 1891 that's so 1891 all right we'll continue down the heartbreak trail here's the one about divorce [Music] gah shoulder [Music] - you wearing black and blue and red wouldn't it same thing cuz I was bruised and angry as I've ever been there was a time when I called you there was a time when I called you [Music] it's old house it's called an NT even these old walls have been come on lay down you're not with me waking up just see city there was a time [Music] there was a time [Music] there's no go either side no silver inmates were left to fight it's precious man in precious memory slip away slip away from your finger there was a time there was a time there was a time there was a time [Music] thank y'all so much I think we just got time for one more song and there are a lot of our music making peers here and we're gonna get one of them up here to play this last tune of this this is John Deere from Chatham County line and he's [Applause] one of the first North Carolina musicians that we looked up to [Music] [Music] but this next song has won one word in the course so if you catch on feel free to sing along if you feel like you can sing if you're not very good at seeing them maybe just seem quiet they'll throw us off I'm just kidding that's not the point of singing [Music] brave men fall with the battle cry tears fill the eyes with their loved ones and their brothers and all so it went for Joseph or it should have been different you could have been easiest rain could have saved that a country on ball needs bravery and it's spread from the ashes screws sweet liberty like the seeds of the pines when the forests per se open up to grow burn again this should have been different you can't be easy too much money rolled in to ever and slavery the craft will spread like wildfire Wow [Music] [Applause] [Music] Civil War cane the Civil War when brother fought brother the South was Spanish but it's true demise this was hatred passed down 30 years and it should have been different you can be easy the pride has a way of home to fur to history did it burn [Music] Wow [Music] well I was born a southern sir in a small southern tail where the rebels run Wow to beat their chests and this where they're gonna rise again this should've been different you can't beaneasy today that or not Haitian with it here we are caught in a wildfire [Music] why [Music] Wow [Music] [Applause]
