[Music] all right what is that my friends welcome to another Monday video here on cool stuff inc.com we're doing something a little bit different today now usually when I'm playing these videos I'm bringing to you either decks that I have worked on a lot on stream or practiced or decks that done well in tournaments usually more established proven decks not necessarily decks that are like tier one but at least X that have been kind of worked on or thought about or present practice practice performed et cetera today we're going to be different um I want to do you a video where I talk a little more about the brewing process you know when you have an idea and you first put kind of pen to paper and then the process of going through that idea fleshing out the idea figuring out what works what doesn't works and as it works doesn't work and then kind of massaging your idea into a potential deck now obviously in magic most ideas don't work you know there's tons of cool ideas that get thrown out you know they're tested tried don't work not consistent enough things don't play out the way you want them to whatever it is you know but while most brewers don't work a lot of them do and those become the four colored red to our decks or the is it Phoenix decks or texts that can go on to define a format that were just at some point just an idea in someone's head this cards kind of cool want to try this or maybe I can exploit the metagame in some way by doing this so this is a deck I played it that similar to this on stream earlier in the week it was played by I know Martin camo who played this deck to a twenty first place finish at s e-g Kentucky and I was basically just the old Jess guys the geoduck playing a few copies of Teferi time Ravel er new card obviously and I played it one for one and I liked the idea of it I didn't really like the build of it though I didn't like reman didn't like snap canister mage but I love the idea of Teferi time traveler in conjunction with filled our Guardian sahih Lee as a way to defend your hundred grand combo of course with Safari you can go for your combo freely and your opponent can't stop you in almost any way aside from that d'affaires else it was really a good card but I wanted to go deeper and I was driving home from the PT Q or mcq with a good friend Dan Jessup and Nicole my fiancee we were discussing decks and you're heard I'm just sick along ideas about what could make what can go well into this see Healy filled our Guardian deck and more Planeswalkers for short Safari has obviously been tearing up standard and then gnar sit Dan suggests it would be a really good choice as well because you can reset it with your fellow Guardian and gnar set is already a very good card in modern we're seeing this now to being played in blue light control and a bunch of different decks obviously this card is hell on is it Phoenix player who's playing all can trips all those cards are turned off it's a very powerful card and with felt our Guardian you can just get your dick through time and then reset it and do it again so really really cool way to set things up I didn't like the counterspell aspect of the deck though because for a deck revolving around sorcery speed three mana planeswalkers it's hardly counter spells up snapcash was a little clunky so on strike discard so in the car we brainstormed spit bald and this is the idea we came up with and again this is totally untested the point of this video is to kind of go through and go through the process of building a deck so you can learn to update your process and make your process better as well because this process that you know deck brewers used you know think about players like sam black or connolly woods or people who are really good at building decks have really owned this process to a art form practically and that's a skill you can learn and it's a skill that needs to be cultivated needs to be worked on so today we're kind of working on cultivating that steel skill so want to try discard spells instead of counter spells as a way to interact in the early game on turn wanted to discard spell kill creature discard spell and then set up for our Planeswalkers on turn three and then go from there and everything plays very well together obviously felled our Guardian Borrego the Planeswalkers also goes wall Bauman's and spreading seas these are common elements of the chess capacity Lee deck Celie can of course copy all the moments draw cards are finding uses for all of our cards one of the cool ones though is that you know the downside the discard spells is once your opponent is empty-handed they don't really do much well it's a fairy as you've seen in standard you can cast the discard spells to your opponent's draw step but it's actually pretty pertinent to making them more useful later in the game so discard spells even great early great in the mid game it's a fairy we got to upgrade lightning bolt the fatal push very good card against thing in the ice humans just a very good card obviously you tell you why failed bushes good seer visions path exile a lot of the usual stuff but very focused on sealy combo getting Planeswalkers in play using the kind of prison elements of Teferi and nurse it to help set up our Celie build our guardian kill tear opponents hand apart and interact with them mildly along the way seems very powerful we are lacking any Plan B's I think one of the good things to do when you're starting out with a brew is to kind of just focus on your plant you know you may want some sort of plan B eventually may want to tweak some numbers or shave down on the combo we're going to start going full monty here and see how it goes to ferry time high roller is a good answer to things like in snaring bridge or random you know artifacts or enchantments that might be stopping you for a turn that's pretty cool and then hopefully the combo could handle everything else if we can't combo we're gonna have a hard time winning no staff caster is no bolts no Colin odds no mendelian clicks so we're gonna find out if that's the problem or not and go from there to support our splash here we are for coloured duck we're basically a three color 2x flashing person Healy we're stealing some tech from standard here trying out interplan or beacon maybe not good enough for modern but given our planeswalker density and our planeswalker colors we're basically a blue black deck with kind of a light white splash and there were also splashing to healy as well and beacons really really good they're forecasting a lot of Planeswalkers life game for beacon really adds up it's a cute way to splash the healing is it not good enough for modern we're gonna find out it's an idea life gain is nice making it the splash easy is nice and we're basically a base blue-black deck in the early game and if we ever dropped beacon we can special Lancer it and so on we'll make hands awkward at times obviously we draw a hand at snow-covered plains interplan or beacon it's gonna be hard to keep that one but if it's a wall tomans at the ferryman maybe it's not so we're gonna try that out um we're not going too crazy here on one I was I had to like trike throwing in a card here and there like a Jace the Mind sculptor or snap cast remain just to see how they feel again you're you're early the early things you're doing when you're brewing a deck it should be all exploratory your goal is not to win your goal is to try out different things learn different things your success is to learn as much information as fast as possible because time is always the enemy you could spend hours and hours and hours and hours brewing decks but you need to be efficient with it as well so sidewards got you know some usual stuff in here not playing snap caster opens us up to rest in peace obviously a very very good card right now a dredge just read just one dredge just one the open eye just very powerful card in general sunny silence we have wrath of gods and supreme verdict against the creature decks as well as explosives one guy on the board I kind of want the kayo main because kya also can be a winged condition if for some reason felled our Guardians the Healy goes wrong and also a pretty good card in modern I think it's card is very under played pits are planeswalker a theme but I thought we were a little heavy on on planeswalkers so put in the board cyborg Juke is guys st. craft guys plays really really well with discard spells just discard pick your answer discard take your answer guys to kill you so good Plan B common route allottee just really good sideboard card and dispel misers counter spell a lot of good cyber cards in the sideboard White's obviously great for that brutalities good there's about a bajillion options her sideboard cards here we didn't go too crazy I think we're a little little light on Tron hate but we have the mean deck spreading seeds and I also have a combo kill to I mean we can't just kill them you know they they can play one coil engine or whatever and we can just combo kill them so that's the deck again the focus today is going to be on exploring the deck and and kind of going through the brewing process and poking holes because there's definitely holes here this is a first draft no first draft doesn't have holes honestly even supremely polished tournament decks still have holes so there's gonna be a lot of holes here and our job is to me to poke those holes and figure out what's working figure out what's not working you know see if the black works or not you know we can kind of get a feel for the games and see it may be straight Jess guy is better you know with bolts we better than pushes are we lacking that second dollar wing condition with snow catchers and bolts and clicks we've also discussed we're talking about with Ross and tan and my teammates about possibly being green maybe you want to be birds of paradise both of nyssa you know like those four callers to Healey decks but then focus more on the Planeswalkers as well because playing Safari on turn two is really good or playing norsu that turned two is really good in that respect you're just like splashing green for mana creatures obviously pretty weird I didn't like how it made nurse it worse it was less interactive there's a lot of options though it's good to kind of sketch all of those out they got the things you want to try specifically and then try them full kilt and see how it goes it's unfortunate because arena is so great with the matchmaking you can just play a gamer to change your deck play a game or to change your deck it's so good for brewing obviously we're playing on magic online where the only option is leagues we're forced to play an entire league with our deck as it is um that's okay you know we'll work through it if there's some changes we want to make we can just go discuss them at the end so you're on the drop when they won Landseer and visions thoughts sees wall moments and we're gonna keep I like serum it is a lot I have a lot of faith oh so have thoughts these to interact with them it was second can trip in wall ovens well also defense our minds Walker as well too so I'm gonna keep picturing a watery grave we'll see what we draw in our opening draw step but yes I will finish this league don't you worry magic online I know you're looking out for me and all but you're being a little paperclip e right now okay so definitely a good nurse it match up that's for sure pick up bottom bottom alright strong lines excellent gives Navi can lean on but sees so it's fantastic so we're gonna get on a watery grave and let's see what's up interesting we are playing a mirror spreading C's Waldron's lightning bolt a pretty bad hand against us spraying C's is actually kind of annoying truth be told because our mana base is a little wonky er than most decks I mean making this water gave an island and then just fetching up a godless shrine really is the end of the world but it's a little annoying bolts can pressure nurse it which is means if we played in our state we can't use it and narce it is really really good they actually have more bolts in the staff casters though kind of a lot of like low-impact choices here realistically um I'm probably playing visions next turn anyway try it by my third land I don't think it's bull I think the walls obviously irrelevant and somebody sees is fine too let's remove their direction if possible that's fine so there goes island and spring sees discards Bell now it's interesting because they've not drawn two fresh cards so it is possible that we are interested in this Inquisition the problem is when I cast it probably the fetch first you a vision in position set up for a turn three planeswalker and it's possible their hands wall woman's but at us we do have possible through many planes walkers we're running into here i think i like casting the imposition that's gonna regardless nine damage shouldn't matter too much also informs our missions too so alright they have all of omens and another lightning bolt so i'm pretty fine taking the bolt guess here missions find our third land destroyed spell interplan or beacon perfect and sierra missions which I'm actually pretty happy with so it's good top top let me say go your discard spells working perfectly so far helping to set up for our planeswalker games it's kind of working so far getting our sit down it's gonna be huge definitely question if you if you want to - it or not they're just a Healey that's pretty scary and they're gonna scry any bottom so if they filed Arg already and we're going to die that's just is what it is I have no problem with that at all it if they topped he'd have things to think about but we can only stop in anyway I mean we can't got it because that but we're gonna gnar sit here and then the question becomes do we want to - or not leading our sedan play turn off all Bowman's and turn out a lot of their card seems really really good I was gonna leave it I play forced a nap cast your mages they play four bolts or three bolts hit play helix beginners leave this for now we could players Healy we can play wall Romans in Flay God I mean you hate to see it I guess what are you gonna do there they were drawing to four fellow Guardians and they taught that on us and they they drew out on us so very happy that I played how you played the game don't regret playing nor sit here at all Mars good against every draw step in there definite stack that's not felt already so obviously pretty frustrating but that's okay it's important in a game like this to look at how the game felt not have not the result of the game this game was feeling pretty good we were we were way way ahead this game they had a literally a wall Oman's it did nothing that's a Healy to sitting in play and I should use a Healy too so they just went runner runner see Healy and a failed our guardian and we had the path but again I think playing norsu there is absolutely correct and we were way ahead on a material way ahead in the board so obviously didn't happen sometimes but that's fine we didn't reveal to them that we were playing read or the combo so they don't really know what we're doing yet which is nice um how do we want to sideboard fatal push can answer filled our guardian only if we have a fetch land available which is a little bit of a task to ask there's a question of you if you want guy sink trapped or not and also question him they are gonna bring in a saint draft they do bring in dice we're pretty something pretty soft to it aside from God discard spells but I don't think we're really willing to bring in a wrath of God a fact could bring in explosives as a hedge explosives could at least killa kill a guy Stu also having extra utility at killing felled our guardian or Planeswalkers etc etc I don't want to change much honestly specially in the play spreading seeds isn't amazing against them but obviously expelled our Guardian good and uh yeah I wouldn't mind shaving like a push or two I think it's the only thing that'd be happy to do maybe like a push for a dispel and then maybe another push for explosives is not great but it is a hedge again against Geist if we're concerned with them guiding us they're probably getting ice that's honestly they just saw just they said they just saw a fair Esper neck for the most part so guy seems somewhat likely yeah I think I like I suppose it's kind of a bush let's try this we are definitely soft too soft to guys but we're on the play and if we go see Healy on the play and then we threaten you know I bet my casting guys might just kill them so they cast guys we definitely have you know things to do or play into it okay so our first awkward hand as far as mana goes we have a beacon we can't cast our our black card as if you're a fight we draw the one nephesh land the question becomes is is this key slow capable or not our push is pretty bad we have to ferry on three but they could have like a this like the stock version plays for me man's they worship a look at this end both pushing explodes exposes are not very exciting so this is much better so if one keeps six to start spell and to wall into you see Healy or nurse it feels good we're gonna keep we're a bottom fatal Bush don't really need that one see we're up against part of the goal of the place Walker lands also to gain the life back in posses and stuff and are somewhat difficult madness they're playing nurse it too okay so they're beyond the stock list and they've also realized that nurse it seems really really good they have to nurse it's just really good have helix so my playing the black we're losing out on the ability to directly burn Planeswalkers that's the thing we need to make note of you know is the discard better than just being able to to helix and it's car disadvantage but it's all do that this is not great for us I think he's taking an arson and we're probably going to hope the draw and discard all for the second arson so steer missions Bob top boom well it slam you're gonna fetch some I suppose play it well omens not exciting obviously but it's can drip now they have Hilux available as well as nurse it land land so could see Lee plus the place around helix also threatens the combo which is really good so by playing say Healy and threatening combo they have to be afraid of you know tapping out for something like Norse it so visions again bottom bottom that's pretty good so and steam vents um it's not aligned they would have fetched but also just pre pretty good probably worse than he Damir land yeah Damir Lindsey's better we are taking a significant damage from our lands ear which is also add a bit of a downside to playing the four-color mana base could go down to copy this nah we're not doing that they have a lenny he looks obviously bottom that deal them one and now the the threat is there for our twin combo in order to move sea Helia they probably have to bolt it twice so that's pretty good for us got to be afraid of gnar sitting because close we could just killed in Mick's turn need to play our own nurse it and then decide what we want to do with it that's kind of a kind of scary part I couldn't put planar set we can - it and then they can helix it or we can just leave it in play and turn off all their can trips which is really good okay so they're just sailing so I mean they have the combo rolled up here and they're willing to willing to just hope we don't have it so they can they can go for it we're gonna plus here we have CM edges to draw it every spry and zoo that's a really good one so we're gonna top that and visions Nazis actually we should probably snatch should steam mints I guess it's fun I'd steer missions draw thoughts ease and there's felt our Guardian and imposition that's actually great yeah it's a top top thought sees yep so you're correct they were there rolled up so he gets you take failed our guardian if helix in our sit land just took my land tabs here remember we have felt our Guardian on top now the lighting helix can stop our combo because when you copy Sealy you - the only targeting me fell dog Rd and they can helix it responds so bolt does break up our combo so if they leave it matter for lighting helix they probably will we get to just wait are there floods or anything be pretty funny they just drew filled our Guardian again um which I guess displaced the power of playing a splintered friends they'll combo in your and in your deck that you can just you know draw your combo but our poem is proving our point for us I suppose it says in chat I'm a lock sack well that's why you play the cards my friendship you put us one combo on your deck for a reason so when you drop both cards you win the game and sad goes so a loss but definitely a somewhat positive law or win for the archetype opponent playing narce it also definitely likes to reaffirms my suspicions that narcissus is really good in the deck so that was obviously a pretty a pretty good one yeah but that's all good they start ponent realize they were lucky that's how is the salty players like favorite complaint you know it doesn't even know how lucky they were getting you know if you're playing as someone who's kind of new and there's winning we're winning this is great they didn't realize how lucky they're getting but yeah they knew they knew okay so round two here and our opener seems pretty good discard spell a couple cam trips removal spell pretty happy and keep the Delta ancestral vision well you know cards getting a sense central vision fairy yeah very is secretly good against a lot of stuff alright let's see what's going on here with this deck dismembered see emergency revisions sleight of hand thought C's thought C's I have no idea what our planet is playing I know we're not gonna have a hand and I know they have two other lands so you might just be taking sleight of hand here all right that's not very good they're hoping the thought sees it all they want honestly some kind of keep them off lands you'll eventually need to find answer this special vision which is essentially just an arson or Teferi yeah we're doing sleight of hand here sleight and use our best test card to find a land next turn let's get to see two cards that one staring vengeance is better to find it a turn later but this is interesting well none of your cards are good you just all of them posses you you know this goes like here clock is tickin yes they are gonna want to do serum visions they've a bottom bottom it's gonna make a land here then I playing a lamp for a while Oh God and now we get to spreading sees them which also feels kind of cool I think he's gonna island here don't they mean all this extra white mana don't know what they're playing so necessarily want to uh take it on a damage I guess getting an island now if they can't play it's a plan next turn I guess we just got a duel I always get all fun I might just shut them down do like spreading sees a lot it's like a half a stone rain for for two mana can trips it's pretty good trying felled our garden of course makes our hand a little more thought suitable but they seem to about to run a land again so okay mmm our hand is they'll flee getting more and more thoughts usable but that's okay if six cars an end um I think I'm fine thoughts easing yeah she's fired off like it's we could path our own wall but we have tons of mana anyway something even necessary if you didn't find our planes Walker or sadly kind of sucks like Activision next turn but my god you're playing 22 limbs so probably in trouble here they get the vision here just have a bit julienne cards an end also reason why they wouldn't play this island because now that billion cards they want to play spells obviously and they're probably going to limit it to playing only one spell this turn yep they get blood Crips we can always felt are already in the spreading seas over to the blood groups Tilly's cut them off in red alright so probably thoughts using here okay that's fun take filled our Guardian we are obviously pretty uh pretty heavy on mana here twenty two lands in the deck that amazes a little painful you don't need to always fetch read if you read if you draw a beacon but we had just opened up blood crypt in our opening and the thing I mean the old butter cut art is so much better very interesting they chose path to exile not fill the green delve our secrets I guess the question is answered they're playing a delvar of secrets deck which is interesting this they're playing like a Crixus delvar deck with incest revisions I couldn't tell you but okay obviously no guarantee D delver flips next turn alright so you get to open on Ciera business here and start there see what turns up see Healy and then a marsh flats and then of thoughts these so they have thoughts he's twice that this is gone and his member alluding bolt island obviously if we hmm we felt our guardian then they can just dismember it it could wait for the thought cease we are a little low on life obviously we don't know those dollars in a flip or not you see Healy and delvar flips it's dead so tough lastly from both sides here they have a good amount of answers what we're doing I feel like we probably just need to play be felled our Guardian I don't think I want thought cease and probably just move to spreading C's over to the blood crypt certainly not ideal but I think we need to just cast like we can't cast him nothing and planks a Healy I guess he placed the Healy and they don't draw leaves bolt it they get his attack I say it's a flip say if delvar flips the hill he's dead and that's a huge problem it doesn't flip name somebody cards they bolt they've something hard to answer our combo yeah this is this is tough this is definitely a sideboard guys same craft matchup because they have every mention of interaction possible all week through our planes loggers and probably have been fine alright so we're going to flicker the spreading seas take them off red ok another land and a blind flip on a bolt oh man and it's tough when you're in the early stages of testing a deck because you just want things to work properly you know drawing the right number of lands things like that and I mean like AIT's a lot our pond did miss their land drop for like five turns so we can't hit their draw has been pretty bad you can't complain too much but they have so much gas in their hand because of it it makes our life pretty difficult I wanted to do the read source also so we are almost dead I don't know what we can draw here honestly they have bolt bolt looting dismembered Island so cobweb is impossible they have multiple elements of interaction okay third trinity has looting interesting takes bolt off the table but its member still available obviously there are 10 and we can't really punish them so their count against playing the red discard package I'm just a read read damage like bowls and stuff this card island dismembered that's pretty wild okay well we'll see if we can channel our pointer from last round and just any Planeswalkers Gettier realistically even that one nope that's the snow-covered Plains okay and we are almost dead so the problem isn't you play games like this you know your goal is is to figure out am I just getting a lucky like we have drawn you know nine lens let me describe a bit and stuff and still draw nine lens or is that just not built well and that's your job to figure out basically you know this is a pretty inordinate amount but they have 6 cards in t-bolts it's hard to imagine we're not dead here nope can't take snow-covered planes that is a very peculiar tap not sure where that would tapi delve our secret atop the steam vents not the not the the island so now lightning bolts can no longer save them so if we draw a CEO either dead nope just a flood stretch okay so I mean really frustrating set of games so far our opponent won out at us twice in a row and now you've drawn a pretty heavy metal Lance it's okay we're definitely bringing in our guys see drafts are explosives probably yeah I think so I like Kaia here guy is getting its delvar like good card to kind of just sit and play in a grimy matchup um don't think you want rest in peace I'm not really willing to go down that road yet they probably have like Tassadar and things like that but obviously to ferry is very good against a seer and other delve threats um we have our removal spells you are discard spells and pretty happy that most things we have going here cuttable cards I think wold omens can go I don't think wall of omens is particularly good here a dad is blocking much and then uh there's not a great card honestly it's it's obviously flicker bowl filled our Guardian but that the question is you know you don't have put too many weak cards in your deck and you know with three spreading season three wall of omens it's a lot of kind of cyclers for two mana that may not be necessary it's possible to doesn't want well omens at all you know so again another thing you gotta figure out in deck building still gonna cut two cards here I don't mind cutting like a thought Caesar - cuz they are a little bit aggressive spreading seas seems fine against them hitting like a blood Crips or turning off their block is kind of nice what's kind of thought see it's got two thoughts these I think we are pretty heavy on three here maybe we can cut I don't what I would cut those all that all the points water seems so good on three three cut the spring cease now we're making our felt our guardians a lot worse but let me just kind of all them and bring in like a verdict again we're making our paper tallies actually good he killed belvera also dressed them yeah let's do that actually the two brutality kind of thoughts these I like that perfect I like it a lot so fun Apfel des gardius okay be be more interested on flickering Planeswalkers but it's hard to run out folder Guardian against the deck with dismembered and things like that anyway so let's try this dispel also a possible option cyborgs definitely you know needs work for sure you know the question kind of there's never the question of how much work we need to put into this felt like I need to make felt already and good do we need to play wall woman so we need to place writing sneeze not sure okay so we're gonna keep this watery graves here emissions thoughts these fatal push I think I'm okay with this also in a matchup where both players or casting amount of thought ceases I'm want to keep seven cards and I rather be screwed than flooded so I just thought that Kennedy missed their second line drop for a bunch of turns in still won anyway because the quantity of cards they had their hand was really good correct we draw for negation not yet in the format dresses Healy and then path and then Delta so top are Delta and a little help here for sure now we have our second land near our third land - we have thoughts these push Celie definitely not a very good drone there but tell Verve secrets okay so probably just gonna thought C's fatal push question is what colors of manna do we get what about stuffs Aussies whenever we're done I guess Agassi is though spell Pierce dread hoard anarchist dread hoard anarchist seer missions Lance that's pretty bad for us dread or anger seems really really good and they also spell Pierce wow that is something else I think we are probably going to need to take one of these anarchists and then push the other one I think I just take one and then put and packed it the second one spell Pierce is gonna be really good against us that is definitely a magic heard that is high-quality that's what we're doing here onca their whole strategy seems pretty good against what we're doing but um maybe we take spell appear so we can like guaranteed push and pass these anarchists and then just hope you find the answer to Adele Verve secrets this is a row magic card for sure it's a recast there so your visions and all sorts of stuff discards bells etc etc this stuff it's tough knowing because you don't know if it's gonna flipper or not and changes the entire game it flips they can just leave I would spell peers guests emissions I'm doing some elevators it just gives them the option to interact with us and I don't like that big question here what land are we getting we have double blue red black and white it also made me want to cast fatal push so could be blood crypt it could be hallowed fountain it could be oh sorry not not one cryptic on the shrine could be a second demure land all right so no flips I'm the imagine they're casting the dreaded we're gonna get anarchist I think I want to kill it cuz if we draw a lamb and guest nurse it this question becomes what we get as hard as it is to say it might just be a blue-black land godless shrine can't cast in arson or sahih Lee Elia doesn't seem very cast about the moment I want to get an arson ASAP so let's get a blue black land we don't have a red white land in our deck which like icing is a consideration I mean most of our lands are [Music] maybe our narce it though so it's just an arse at first okay and I draw a land off to ferry brutal okay and they have ways to make us discard multiple cards so we have lost two failed our Guardians I felt like writing is more important I play play but they just eating us though Nathan are sit again though so he's we're gonna felt are guarding our sit again I guess getting so Healy in play is these getting helium play is good as they can't kill it but playing felt our Guardian makes them get off this again and draws more cards this is fine now we're gonna lose two cards next turn they have zero cards in hand but they have a lot discard that I've were going to wait again we'll just lose both these cards I'm sure they're gonna eat doesn't everyone I'm sorry so what's what's uh what's Plus this serum missions to ferry and Celia again like Sierra missions ear and garbage garbage all right I mean if they want to eat it too they can't make us discard its places Healy just keep building our planeswalker army if we get elder spelled in this game I'm gonna laugh can we keep the lands if you draw we draw fell garbage to kill them muna volts Wow that changes things pretty significantly okay two more filled our guardians to God parole all right place um plus you have ten cards yeah I start going for their graveyard I don't think the life's gonna matter that much room pretty good shape as far as life goes okay so they get to use me two vaults and you know kiln are sit or shrink to ferry me gets my wall omens they can because because obviously but I think thought seasons literally to heal he's probably fine yep I'm check ours we have to fill the Guardian 0 Geist to see Healy left so they're keeping us in play they're not gonna throw it for a discard ok [Music] plus the definition matters to me you're probably try and kill with kaya so sorry this probably hits it's a very good thing that good e'en next turn I'm starting to go for kaya I mean I has got a long way to feels bad 15 13 cards in exile or two turns 20 with kya the ultimate we're not gonna discard you know white source so mister playing this and saying go and this is gonna be really interesting as far as the ultimate goes um kya kills him in two turns and we're drawing 20 filled our Guardian to kill them we have a draw or we have a draw and a see lease cry if we want it all right I mean you're nuts about it do you think I mean I'm easily sacrificing the the choose a pala to sacrifice keeping Mike I am and I said kill them because Nesta Hylian kind of kills Mindy turns so yeah easy on the sacrifice pile 1cu Planeswalkers in a dream you know vault cannot do enough damage to these in a reasonable timeframe there at 15o obviously path to exile okay sure don't think that's gonna matter but I mean you must kill kya or you die or gain life I guess cool that was a good way to end the end the video I don't know like he was particularly useful as far as knowledge goes for loading our deck but that was a really cool game kai turn his kite as a good book it's a secondary condition but um oh we're not done yet that was in the end not crap alright well who whole just uh ice push better than path I use paddle my own actually somebody want to path a wall and surprise combo them that could work that wasn't the end actually we're definitely going to lose it's unfortunate because I feel like this league has not been very informative for us one of the complaints against modern is that there's a lot of just linear crap going on and it's hard to keep track of if your decks even doing probably hollow fountain taking blood crypt next turn you're a pine nut o'clock is where you're the ones doing things and they're not so I'm both they just sit there every turn and make us ask our tower cards because I figure out what to do oh really that is the thing that happened I guess if path it's fine obviously spring seasonal read here all omens is also great here [Music] sure so we are going to probably wall of omens path to exile set up for to ferry bounce see if they make another rat next turn or not obviously exile the real one we can to ferry bounce the fake one today we are pretty well rolled up here they're not executing their main plan and I think this packrat plan is not particularly great against us cause we're also fortunate that we drew our our our one path exile but like they could they pay Liliana here it's pretty ideal kind of a good guard like I a lot there's not doing anything okay so that's obviously awkward in the sense that if we tried it the Frey bounds they can just make a new rat so it's not even really like great okay let's probably do it anyway clock is tickin all place blue red no yes no yes going fast hey I want to land there actually I got guys plus wall ovens but you're certainly in speed magic mode that last game was pretty ridiculous sure have at it yeah we definitely I kept where it was lands on top for sure took ignore sit hmm Guardian just as an out at any point now triumph sure that's irritating and they have your choice but what's plain Walker they want to kill girl kills the Healey that's probably a good idea ooh that's brutal that is really brutal oh boy all right another two fairy it's actually kind of good all right bottom top plus I guess we're gonna chain off to fairies here what a thought seize them to try get his last card I should trust a bit casting spells is burning and time-consuming okay and then first I'm going to do that sure looks gave me you know and earbud oh my god just casas about what are you waiting for do it colonel win this game inappropriate actually they try and like make us do the actual Cele kill which I can't win it really sucks but whatever hey this is like last game took a long time casting a planeswalker just takes like 15 seconds goodbye filled our Guardians every definitely double one this game easily I killed them they need to that's fine it's all good time out here a shock a Dream Weaver sure but I think he would have won this game most likely filled our Guardian there's no justice all right I'm pretty sure we won this game we'll put it in the book as a win but we are going to time out unfortunately Otto Tapper where art thou oh my god I'd have ten minutes on my clock he because he oughta tapper it was all magic online okay so as we said beginning this video the goal this was to show the kind of brewing process and now we played our first league unfortunately that was a very modern league we played against a track dredge homme Cheerios a delvar Jack that would just kind of like not a real sample of the metagame and then the Cheerios deck in the a track deck place such a weird brand of magic that it doesn't even feel like we're playing magic you know it's hard to know how our deck even works but we'll try to extrapolate the best we can the discard spells into planeswalkers seem good but the mana base seemed really bad I don't know if interplan or beacon is playable and we took a lot of damage tomorrow Lance we didn't really play against any aggressive decks that would have really probably bit us if we did um Friday was great NARAS it was great Celie was great again these are all cards you can play and Jessica is still so we are the splashing for the discard spells and the fatal pushes while the discard felt good the cast ability you know it's always an issue of of cost versus you know what you're getting for it and I'm not sure if they discard it's worth it so the question becomes is Jess guy a better choice can we move the narce it to faerie package into our Jess guy build didn't have that initially I think big questions are still around how much of this do you want the walls are pretty good spreading Caesars fine it wasn't amazing it's just fine um if you learn more honestly it did feel like if our opponent at a lot of disruption like the delver player did then it's kind of hard to win we are lacking that secondary win condition as you saw hiya actually did a pretty good job of that in in that game and might have done a similar thing against the delver player as well Planeswalkers are kind of a hard type to remove in in modern most decks don't have dedicated planeswalker removal um that's the thing but definitely the black cost felt a little too high but it's it's still important to take away from something like this where you take away that you discard spells in two planes well still felt really good select maybe there's an esper planeswalkers deck this is a plat felled our guardian Ursa Healy just placed a fairy nurse it and we discard spells it does other things too you know so again the big thing about these process this process is learning just getting as much information as possible and taking all of it with you because very very often the deck you brew it's not gonna work the first time and you're gonna need pieces from here and pieces from there and you're gonna be able to put it all together and figure it out um so that's the big takeaways the black didn't really feel worth it despite feeling it's fresh because it felt so good like the discards bells in the Planeswalkers felt awesome but cost just UI so looking back Jes guy hoppy the next thing I tried by working Annie Burton in this deck this is a build that I sketched out this deck as the version of Jessica I want to try and I just out the Esper deck cut that out remand a lot more one - spells add an arse at the ferry package I had one big to various like a have secondary wind condition and just you know big threat of choice if Colin wants to and and I guess the bolsa don't do much that snap caster mage but didn't like snap caster either one of these decks because I think that another three drop is not what the deck really wants and the deck is playing mostly it's sorcery speed because of all the Planeswalkers selenium counter magic leave me up snap caster mage isn't really super appealing the ability for SAP Castro to his hat cleans walkers and get aggressive sometimes is really nice though we are missing out on that element but snap caster is effectively a three-drop and we have a lot of three drops so trying out not playing snap caster that may or may not be right um I don't know it's definitely a new deck of course you're watching this after Sh econ I'm considering playing a deck like this it's still early in the week I'm still figuring out what I want to do exactly but I think it's definitely I think this core right here is pretty exciting obviously we'll find out you'll be watching the
