what's up everybody my name is TI Camille Vines and welcome back to my [Music] channel uh as you guys saw I made a gaming video even though it's just Sims 4 and it might be a little long I apologize for that I did get a a little bit of feedback that it might be a bit too long for a Sims video but it's fine we're still testing the waters here but now as I mentioned in that last video I still want to react to movies and such so because it's Black History Month we're going to focus on movies starring like black actors movies made by black directors movies about black history basically so to start with we'll be watching a movie called Glory which came out I believe in 1989 it was directed by Edwards I have the internet okay yes it was directed by Edward zwick apologies if I'm pronouncing that completely wrong basically it's a movie about the union Army's like first I believe black Battalion or black uh regimen in in the Army and the movie I know Stars Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman I'm not sure who else is in it but I'm sure it's a bunch of other very well-known actors uh right now because again this came out in 1989 but yeah I was very curious when I saw this uh when I saw like the info about this I was like let's this be our first movie for Black History Month all right that's enough talk let's just get right into this okay the pic is near Virginia right if it's the Union Army I'm assuming so cuz Virginia was a part of the north I'm not mistaken when your Pastime was playing baseball back then you mustn't think that any of us are going to be killed maybe he's just reassuring her but that's a bit unrealistic I am honored to be part of such a splendid company I'm assuming this is Robert too I I don't know your son Robert okay yeah it was Robert okay fun fact I saw the Confederate [ __ ] for the first time in real life it was a little disheartening cuz I didn't know we still hung those up but hey I suppose that was my welcome to the South how can you possibly avoid that much cannon fire like all these guys should be dead also how violent is this going to get I don't know what like the violence decree was for the80s and 90s when it comes to movies like how graphic is it going to get oh that graphic oh wait oh my God okay I wasn't expecting to see someone's head get blown off I mean it's realistic but I didn't think we were going to get that graphic honestly looking back on it it did look kind of fake but it is the 80s and 90s there's so much chaos happening but you know what the chaos makes sense cuz I'm sure that's how it was in real life too no no you're supposed to play dead not wake up that's the one thing I've learned about War things was that when they go around checking for bodies it's probably best to play dead oh never mind it's Morgan Freeman stay alive that's right didn't he lead this regimen this poor guy is he the only one left alive of it well no because there's so many people running so it's not a great start to leadership but I mean all leaders make mistakes George Washington made a mistake um from what I heard he wasn't the greatest leader at first but he got better oh that one's missing legs what's this casual conversation while you're fixing up his neck and there's another guy screaming in the background don't do this am I hurting the captain I'm sorry I think the captain is fine worry about the other man who's I think is getting his legs chopped off you know what this reminds me of this reminds me of um Hamilton and that one where like the soldiers go out and meet the ladies at this like huge ball or whatever this is what that's reminding me of Robert oh PTSD PTSD to the max right now Robert have you met Frederick Douglas wait Frederick Douglas oh tell me why I thought Deno was about to play Frederick Douglas why are you wearing a kilt this is not Scotland I want you to come with me oh he does not want to come with or maybe he does I don't know his attitude was a little weird I didn't like it pict me in regiment you know what he seemed so happy well I already have so many thoughts I have a lot of thoughts on this regimine they're eager so that's good oh he remembered him when does Denzel come into the picture was I wrong that he was in this I could have sworn it was Denzel also in this movie I'm just hoping for it oh some of them are walking barefoot he couldn't give these guys some shoes there a lot of people why did I think it was like a small group of them but I guess a regimen I don't even know if I'm saying that right it it has a lot more people than I'm imagining oh there's Denzel oh Denzel and Morgan in the same room in the same scene let's go is he going to hit on the head how many here do not know right from left actually that's less hands than I thought would raise that the Confederate Congress has issued Proclamation Proclamation is because of the Emancipation and shall likewise be put to death oh he's going to lose a lot of people isn't he this is going to be one of those things where it turns out a lot of people actually stayed that's so amazing like I'm sure there were still some people that left but the fact that so many of them stayed really says a lot Glory Hallelujah oh this is why it's called Glory you understand sergeant major I wonder if you are treating these men too hard is he I don't know I mean the kicking was a bit much but everything else let him grow up some more he does have a point when you go into the army the Navy any part of the military branches it's it's grueling work you you got to work for it so maybe that's why because again I'm a military brat so I kind of understand that they have to go through some some degrading not too much some harsh punishments some cruel punishments even I don't know it's something I'm going to have to talk to my mom about cuz she's the one in the military I'm just the brat okay they're giving out the rifles so they did get rifles oh they playing around too much with those rifles and he sees exactly what's going to happen hey not smart man has a has aim that side eye ow as much as they have given I owe them my freedom both of them have very strong points he's being too much of a heart a hard ass no they not that the other guys are taking it seriously but it's like in the end This Is War this isn't a playground they know they're going they're training to kill people and to not be killed wor in I don't like this oh a lot of Shame he's he's so disappoint pointed himself I think he needs to leave I don't think he's ready for war yes that's what I'm saying everyone is making very good points I cannot say any person in this movie is wrong about their thoughts like this man clearly is not ready to go into battle but he can be ready he just has to be stop being coddled and they got to know that nobody's gonna let him fight knew it is it denzo I bet you lose denzo he's going to get whipped Sergeant I take back what I said about him he actually is a lot harsher than I thought he was I mean I don't know how it was back then but I'm pretty sure you don't whip your soldiers for deserting I think you killed them make that's a power move right there stare into the eyes of the man that sentenced you to this oh oh that's gnarly I like this if they're all just guarding the door that's right take command get them some goddamn shoes oh I love this you are a you will be mon wow I mean they are still getting paid I thought they just weren going to get paid at all so this is actually a better outcome than what I was expecting I understand his frustration but I'm the I'm the type of person that's like hey we still getting paid none of Weck with Mark cuz Mark us I'm not going to lie this scene did not turn out the way I thought it would this is nice it's like one of those inspiring moments where the kids see you know people that look like them getting the same opportunities as people that don't look like them it's it's always a nice little moment oh my God I love his accent he's like a bit of a Jamaican accent mixed with the American South I like it what no no wait okay well he's dead that shot to the heart after your men are placed under my command oh no no no no no do not place them under his command okay whoa whoa whoa this is not the time period to start a fight with another way just punch him he deserves it I know I said just punch him but you don't need to go in a full-on fight I'm sorry am I watching a cowboy western movie because that's exactly what it looked like that hooting hollering on the horses something's off about this no no no no something's off is Mr Nots smart gonna get killed because I remember it was the whole reloading fast thing this man just got shot in the butt oh he reloaded fast enough thank God wait okay don't cheer because last time y'all did that and you guys had a whole Army come up to you honestly that's fair I don't want to carry the flag that that makes sense this I didn't learn this until after school but apparently the reason for juneth was um because even though the north the union won slaves weren't freed until like months after I think I think correct me if I'm wrong my US History isn't that great yeah basically it's like yeah they won but in the end black people still were considered lesser than if that makes sense so I kind of get him not wanting to carry a flag of a country that has treated him and his people badly the first one that must be taken is that Fort Wagner Fort Wagner I feel like I heard of that the Le may be extreme it's gonna be extreme oh my know we stand up yes we went down standing up amen amen heyen this might be my favorite scene in the entire movie I have heard about like journalists would be on the side like taking pictures and and basically reporting everything they see like on the side of the battlefield it's so interesting to see it though cuz even back then when I like learned about it it blew my mind oh he got rid of his horse oh he's about to march with them isn't he this is so inspiring can people aim with cannons I'm genuinely curious oh my God that man flew this is chaos again war is chaos but dang so he's dead he's the flag Denzel grabbed the flag oh Denzel just got shot several times hey wait you were supposed to grab the FL oh no oh they lost the fort was never taken that's a shame okay wow um I have so many words that was um me watching Glory uh it was a lot it was it was a lot it was it was your typical war movie I mean there's nothing too too Grand about it aside from the fact that they lost again I knew absolutely none of the historical context of this like I knew about like the first black Battalion or first black regimen but I didn't know it was this but yeah it was good I I just on first thoughts alone immediately after watching it I would gladly give that like a 9.5 out of 10 not a complete 10 out of 10 because I still had some issues with some stuff but that's that's just me being picky but um that was such a good film it was such a great film to start Black History Month with I actually really glad I picked that one what I immediately loved about the film was that I could not disagree with almost a majority of the main cast like each of them had issues with each other but me being The Devil's Advocate I could see both sides immediately it's like Colonel Robert he's just trying to make sure these men don't die like the other men did back in the beginning of the movie Denzel Washington's character who I whose name I think was trip I didn't learn this man's name until at the very end I can see why he's just constantly angry and constantly trying to start something even if it got on my nerves I get why Morgan Freeman's character honestly Morgan Freeman was like a Shepherd in this as if like God set him down to deal with these people but we all know Morgan Freeman just has a Godly presence to him no matter what film he's in so understandable I had so many thoughts running in my head and now I can't remember a single one of them which sucks I may or may not do a movie review on this we'll see I doubt it but I'm we'll see again there wasn't too much I didn't did didn't like I mean you could say that I dislike the characters who were against the black soldiers but that's just historically correct that's how it I'm sure that's exactly how it was where you had these black soldiers Marching for their country but then some of the white soldiers are like look at these um people I'm not going to say the word um look at these guys trying to be like us and it's like that's historically accurate but it doesn't mean it doesn't get on my nerves yeah that was such a good film I I genuinely appreciated watching that I think my ultimate favorite scene was the prayer scene well Okay I lied the ending the battle and all that that was definitely my favorite but my second favorite would be that little campfire Prayer song they had going on because I I love me a good camp campfire prayer Black song You Know like gospel is like Black's people's ultimate when it comes to music forget rap forget R&B gospel is really where it's that and speaking of that ending that was wild that was so wild like I I was I was immediately expecting quite a few of them to die was not expecting Colonel Roberts to be the very first though like main character to die and again I had I had no idea of the historical context of this battle like I've never I I don't think I ever heard of this battle I thought it sounded familiar but I think I might be thinking of something else but this battle in particular is not something I'm familiar with so to see them all charge in full of passion full of heart only to die and fail it it it's really sad it's realistic but it's sad but it is really inspiring because right when Colonel Roberts dies Denzel's character um steps up because the flag man also died right next to Roberts and so Denzel stepped up and took the flag despite previously saying that he wasn't going to hold that flag and yes he immediately died right after getting that flag but it was still like okay because right now him and all these other black soldiers are seeing a white man die to in order to help them like he is dying in a fight that is meant to help black people and so they see that and they're like we can't just quit now we have to keep going especially for him the one man who not only had faith in us but has fought and died for us so I really like that that was genuinely incredible but yeah I'm not going to say much more on this great film 9.5 out of 10 that's my final scoring and yeah my next video is probably just going to be another Sims game kind of get us out of this war horror stuff not horror but like we need to be relaxed and then after that we'll see what movie I'll watch next like this video If you enjoyed it uh subscribe if you want to see more and I will see you guys next time peace [Music] bye
