Mountain Island Park Mountain Bike Trail!! Mount Holly, NC

[Music] [Laughter] [Music] all right real quick guys I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday I hope you have a wonderful 20 20 as well I think it's gonna be a pretty exciting year all right so I finally had a chance to really get to know this Mountain Island Trail part project I talked to Bruce E as the trail coordinator and I've talked to a bunch of people that are working on the trail so and it has made me extremely excited for this project I can't believe more people don't even know that this place exists so real quick guaranteed we're getting eight to ten miles of really nice trail that was a pleasant surprise if the entire trail turns out to be like a mile and a half I rode I this might be my new go-to place um but what's the big draw for me is the Greenway the Greenway is gonna go to the downtown Mount Holly eventually but it's going to keep going and eventually go all the way to Belmont but that's neither here nor there I am excited about that this is gonna be more about the actual mountain bike trail that's going into Mountain Island buddy come here but this is gonna be more about the actual trail the the mountain bike trail that's going in the greenways coming but right now I really wanted to push for this mountain bike each row it's only a mile and a half right now but if you were in the area just check it out let's get the word out there so anytime we got more hands working out there the faster things will progress I'm extremely excited I love what they're doing out there you can actually camp out there which is super cool or there's going to be the option to camp they've already got plots and stuff anyway my dogs going crazy with the squeaker so let's just jump over we're going to talk to Bruce first he's gonna explain a little bit about the project where it is heading and then we're gonna take a lap see what they have finished so this is just the trail well let's go we're up at Mountain Island link trail right now you have a mile and a mile and a half of thread trail which is the main trail when we're building off of single track we have just under a mile now we're gonna add about another mile so we'll be up around two miles eventually when we go through all five there's five knobs or hills that we're working off of in 150 acres we're gonna hopefully have eight to ten miles gonna be some real nice downhill right now we're working on the inner loop of the first section got a green loop finished we've got the outer blue finished and as I said that's about a little over a mile and then we're gonna add bring it up to about two miles not only Parks and Rec have been very receptive and really like in the work that we're doing yeah getting a good lot of good feedback pose mileages we're hopefully getting between eight to ten months and a lot of that it's gonna be nice some nice real nice downhill stuff because there's some real nice terrain going further down as we work our way down the river and what's nice is about here is that you can actually want it's one of the only places beside you re where you could actually camp and don't like you know that's gonna be a big drill yeah then what about as far as the green wig is basically the green way as far as the right now it's at a mile and a half the green way will end up going all the way down to Dutchman's Creek and then where they're eventually gonna want to build you're gonna build a bridge across touching the creek so so overall if I looking about three miles out yeah so Trail Blazers are doing this with Mount Holly and looking starting to shape up to real nice got some nice wood work out here some cool bridges yeah awesome kocchi own [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] alright guys so that is about a lap of the Milton island park trail it is coming along quite nicely if you would like to visit the trail I will leave a address down below so you can go check it out for yourself there's actually tons of stuff to do besides ride your mountain bike lots of people walk their dogs out there there is a small part of people fish and eventually this sucker will go all the way to Belmont anyway I really wanted to do almost kind of like a little commercial for this thing I just want to get the word out because tons of people don't know about it and I want it to progress as quickly and as efficiently as possible because I'm excited about it alright guys I will catch you all later I
