everyone my name is black today I'd like to share with you my garage project I turned essentially a two vehicle garage into a three beetle Rogers PC got myself a American custom lift built installed by them I will show you time-lapse video that install so stay tuned I also show you the process it took to raise my ceiling height and get prepared for this thing so let me show you how this thing works [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so to show you the process it took me to raise my ceiling height I hope to actually inspire other people who have something similar they'd like to accomplish you know we have a very small garage but how can we make something small even better first the fine print I am NOT a builder I do consider myself a general handyman fairly good with my hands as well as working with electrical or plumbing or any woodwork so anyway let's get started first the planning stage this is where I drew up some rough diagrams of what I want to accomplish I did submit this the city and hope to get a permit however they logically that stated I needed structural engineering approval so I did hire engineers to draw even better diagrams and very happy I did this because they came up with some great ideas and was well worth the money spent this company is Tucker engineering they are located here in Central Texas do strongly recommend them they were very pleasant to work with with great ideas and overall good experience for the before pictures of my garage this is what it looked like standard two-car garage rather small went ahead and prepped it for sheetrock demolition with the help of my lovely wife after tearing it out left with open area as you can see I have a standard truss system nothing fancy went ahead in ordered my wood from McCoys and got busy so the first progress image here is actually showing several things completes we have the LDO beam installed lengthwise thanks to the help of a bunch of my friends who were able to come out help help me lift this into place the three trust systems above have been complete and actually now ready for the bottom part to be completely cut away part of the engineering plans had called for this reinforced metal bracket to be installed and this was a rather fun project with the help of my friend Eric went over to his tech shop and was able to cut out this metal bracket I couldn't turn down better very happy with it so with the upper part done was ready to cut away the bottom section and install the second glulam beam and ready for the third with the third installed things moved along really nicely and at this stage we are complete and ready for sheetrocking now to walk you through the framing done stage we are ready for sheet rocking the all three glulam beams are installed Simpson hangers connecting them together we got the electrical roughen complete have additional conduit support for future wiring needs on the back side of the garage there are the left that's where planned to have the motorbike lift on the right plane to have some bicycle lifts so do have some additional framing support for them so at this stage what's next well like all projects things get added on to it would be foolish for me not to take advantage of an open garage so went ahead and fully insulated it purchase that's of insulation and installed them fairly easy to use and got the entire garage insulated at this point it's time for sheetrocking purchased a sheet rock lifter to assist in installing the sheet rock at first I did start doing it myself but I soon found out it's a lot of work to try to lift a single piece of sheet rock so my very good friend Steve who helped me through the entire framing work did come back out to help me with the sheet rocking and quickly enough we were able to complete the entire garage and get it ready for taping and mudding to complete the mudding and the texturing I did hire out to a crew of professional sheet rockers it is a true art form and I trusted them a lot more than myself to do it right and couldn't be happy at the outcome so thank you guys so with that let me show you the completed garage this includes everything installed I have the Whirlpool gladiator cabinets on the back wall they are hung on to the wall motorbike lifts on the left on the right I have some storage that is also lifted through the my lift or motors on the left side of the wall I have the Whirlpool wok it's allowing to hang any arbitrary thing on the wall I created this mounting bracket for the motor originally they either mount the motor to the back or the side of the unit which didn't quite work for me but it works out nicely against the wall bolted to the floor this is ultimately the only thing that's securing this lift there's nothing on the ceiling it is solely just bolted to the floor on the right there you see they release cable you have to lift it slightly off the lock and you can pull that down and then that allows the hydraulic lift to come down very happy with the outcome here there was a lot of effort a lot of work but certainly something anybody can do I did add on a insulated garage door and these were all additions on after I started working on the garage I installed a Mesa beshe mini splits very easy to install I did hire out to an AC technician to just help out with the plumbing work for it install the thermostat for it this is communicated over the musubi she interface device which if you'd like more information on it be happy to share that's it ladies and gentlemen my garage project to wrap it up but like show a time-lapse video of the motorbike lyft being installed but first I want to really give a special shout-out and thanks and appreciation to my friend Steve he drove across town every day to help me with the framing to help me at the sheetrocking to help me with all sorts of things I couldn't have done it without him thank you for your support I truly truly appreciate it [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] you
