Most MYSTERIOUS Archaeological Treasures Discovered!

hey guys it's Chris from Gold of every shape and size two treasures of ancient history join me as I reveal eight amazing archeological treasures that have been found number eight Bronze Age wheel the United Kingdom has been the source of many great finds in terms of history over the years and must farm in Cambridgeshire within the country has affectionately been dubbed the British Pompeii and not because of volcano buried a town underneath it but because there are plenty of artifacts found within the grounds of the area quite frequently for example in 2016 some archaeologists were going through some round houses that they just dug up and as a result of this they found a wheel that was dated back to the Bronze Age of history while this may not sound important at first it is important to note that the wheel was pretty complete it was the most complete Bronze Age wheel ever found in the UK it still had its central hub in it and it wasn't too badly damaged or eroded despite being made of wood and by the way that's wood that we have not been able to identify yet the wheel was also large about three feet in diameter and upon further digging a horse's spine was also found near it this discovery showed that the people who lived here in the Bronze Age had some pretty sophisticated means of transportation for their time number seven massive black sarcophagus just last year in 2018 at a construction site in Alexandria Egypt a sarcophagus was found that dated back to 332 BC due to its placement in Alexandria and the massive size of the box that exhumed an imposing presence some people believed that this box held the body of the legendary Alexander the Great furthermore they believed that if they opened the box that it would unleash a curse upon those who dared as it would turn out there was no Alexander and no curse that we know of at present instead inside the nine footlong sarcophagus were three bodies two males and one female who they were and why they were buried this way is still a mystery at the moment but signs of wounds and surgeries on some of them have been discovered it was also found out that this sarcophagus wasn't perfectly sealed as modern-day sewage had somehow seeped its way into the box itself archaeologists and historians are trying to figure out why these three were in the sarcophagus what made them so important how did they die and why this box was to be their home for all eternity number six treasure and tomb of Childress the first the date was May 27th 1563 Adrienne Quinn Qin was working at a church in Saint Bryce in Tornai he was digging through the dirt when he suddenly found his shovel full of gold coins upon finding this he went and kept digging and while he did find more gold he also found it - this was the tomb of a former King shield Eric the first and it was loaded with all sorts of rare treasures shale Derrick was the first king of the shelly-ann franks and he was put to rest around 481 BC when he was buried they didn't just put basic treasure beside him they put hundreds of gold coins gold and garnet ornamented swords horse fittings and buckles a solid gold tark a gold bulls head 300 gold bees and a gold signet ring that is a ton of gold after being found the remains of the tomb were taken to the bibliothèque nationale de France where they were displayed prominently for about 200 years then thieves broke into the exhibit and stole just about everything melting down the priceless artifacts and selling them for their own profit the only things not stolen and melted were later found by police number five Kazakhstan tomb treasure in 2018 a tomb in Kazakhstan was found and within it was a massive treasure trove the tomb itself was discovered within the thar bagga-t Mountains which is a part of the country where it borders on the neighboring country of China at one point in history there were people who lived in this area known as the Sokka the Sokka were nomadic and they traveled over Europe and Asia for hundreds of years and they were known as expert horseman they had a nice life span before Turkish invaders wiped them out in the fourth century and the tomb itself had thousands of gold treasures it's believed that they were remnants of some of the elite of the SACA tribe and upon observation it's clear they had very good skill with gold working there were inscriptions gold woven into animals and jewels implanted in golden bands found within the tomb itself well it's not possible to age them exactly archaeologists believe that they are at least 2,800 years old based on the metalworking techniques believed to make these there were graves of people found in the tomb as well but who they are is not known at present number four ancient comics the world today has an interesting connection with comic books as multiple TV shows and box office films are based on beloved comic book characters but history has revealed that the idea of comic books goes back much much further than you would expect an ancient Roman tomb was found in the country of Jordan and on the tombs walls are hundreds of illustrations including ones with speech bubbles thus making this a literal ancient comic book as for the content of the comic this one didn't feature ancient superheroes or anything like that it was a look at a day in the life of the people in nearby city of Capitola based on the drawings and text it was likely made in the second century AD the speech bubbles in this ancient comic book were inscriptions and they were put above or close to certain characters they defined the acts they were doing such as I am cutting stone or I am dead in depicting a fight of some kind what amazed archeologists the most though just might be that the comic itself is remarkably preserved despite being thousands of years old number three pyramid ramps one of the greatest mysteries of the ancient world revolves around one of its greatest treasures the Great Pyramids of Egypt these massive sculptures or buildings were made by ancient Egyptians by hand yet had such precision that it left many people curious as to how they got it all done in 2018 a four thousand five hundred year old ramp system was found at an old quarry site in Hat nube Egypt and it seemed to suggest that this was at least part of the way the Egyptians got the pyramids done so how did this system work exactly well the team who found it happily explained this system is comprised of a central ramp flanked by two staircases with numerous post holes Yanis gordon co-director of the joint mission at hat noob told LiveScience in an interview using a sled which carried a stone block and was attached with ropes to these wooden posts ancient Egyptians were able to pull up the alabaster blocks out of the quarry on very steep slopes of 20% or more ramps have long been speculated as the reason why the great pyramids were made and this seemingly confirmed it in some capacity though it must be noted that while this treasure of a find does lead credence to the theory it does not fully prove that every pyramid was made this way furthermore it doesn't explain some of the other elements that Egyptians had to do in order to make the pyramids as they are now number 2 King Tut's to Egypt is an important country in terms of archaeology but at multiple points of history the desire to learn more about the country's history was kind of dying out one thing that helped spark a revolution in discovery was the rosetta stone but the one that started a craze for Egyptian artifacts was the finding of King Tut's - King Tutankhamun was crowned as Pharaoh of Egypt when he was only nine years old and he died barely an adult at the age of 17 or 18 his death and burial were commenced with and that should have been the end of his story when instead it was just delayed a little bit in the year 1922 archaeologists found the tomb and were amazed by all the treasures that lay within it there were tributes to the Pharaoh animal sculptures carved out of gold and more but here's the catch the tomb wasn't really that big and there were telltale signs that something had gone very wrong with the burial process including the fact that Tut himself seemed to have been caught on fire at some point not to mention the room that he was in was much much smaller and less lavish than any previous Pharaoh before him despite him having an importance to the Egyptian people to try and protect the history and the relics the team who found it claimed that any who dared touch the gold and take it from the tomb would suffer from a terrible curse some people have died after going into the tomb so this led many to feel that the curse might be real the curse of King Tut is something that still talked about day despite the team openly admitting after a period of time that the curse was just their fabrication the importance of the find of King Tut's tomb started a mad rush of sorts to Egypt to find more sacred tombs and burial sites in the decades since many more treasures have indeed been found and that leads to more insight into the long history of Egypt and many more treasures are likely to be found in the sands of this country number one Cheapside hoard you'd probably be surprised how many legendary treasures are found by construction workers just doing their jobs such as in 1912 when workers were doing a job in Cheapside London when they were picking through a cellar they hit a box with one of their tools when they looked inside it they found themselves looking at a large collection of coins and jewels from the 16th and 17th centuries being more specific it was 400 pieces of Elizabethan and Jacobean jewelry the largest and arguably the most important collection of such jewels in history such things within the box were rings brooches and chains with brightly colored gemstones and enameled gold settings together with toad stones cameos scent bottles fan holders crystal tankards and a salt cellar it's believed that the box was owned by a goldsmith back in the time of the English Civil War the store the workers were at was once part of Goldsmith's row so it is very likely this was a working stock put under a flat board for protection upon discovery the workers divided the treasure between themselves and sold them to a pawn shop little did they know that the owner of said shop was the head of acquisitions for the London Museum where the Cheapside hoard remains to this day thanks for watching what did you think of these archaeological treasures which ones would you have liked to have discovered along with the people who found them let me know in the comments below be sure to subscribe to a world list and I'll see you next time
