Patrick's Day policemen arrived at the door of Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston claim each have received a call about a disturbance breaking protocol the security officer led them in one of the men said he had a warrant for the guards arrest and they convinced him to step away from his post bad move the policemen were really criminals in disguise and they quickly handcuffed him and ordered him to call the other guard to the front who was also subdued the these absconded with 13 paintings including master works by Rembrandt Vermeer and a gahh worth a third of a billion dollars with a b2 this date no one has been arrested in conjunction with a crime nor have the paintings ever been recovered number five the Harry Winston heist on December 4th 2008 four men three of whom wore long blonde wigs and disguised themselves as women charmed their way into the famous Paris jewelry store just before closing time once inside they brandish a 357 and a hand grenade and began their pillaging less than 15 minutes later they escaped with diamonds rubies and emeralds worth an estimated 108 million dollars investigators believe it to be the work of the notorious Serbian criminal gang the pink Panther's responsible for 132 million dollars in robberies around the world and have never been nabbed number 4 DB Cooper on November 24th 1971 a man going by the name of Dan Cooper hijacked a plane flying from Portland Oregon to Seattle Washington the unassuming man was wearing a business suit and was said to be in his mid-40s after receiving $200,000 equivalent to almost 1.2 million dollars by today's standards he parachuted into the night never to be seen again the hijacker purchased his ticket took his seat on the aircraft and settled in for the journey mid-flight he passed a handwritten note to the flight attendant that said he had a bomb he asked for the attendant to sit next to him and Cooper dictated his ransom demands he wanted the $200,000 for parachutes and a fuel truck waiting at Seattle to refuel the aircraft on arrival de stewardess told the pilot who relayed these demands to Seattle air traffic control authorities ordered all employees to cooperate with the hijacker to ensure the safety of passengers and crew the ransom money was also agreed when the plane landed and Cooper received the money and parachutes he ordered all passengers and two attendants to be released from the plane after refueling Cooper asked for the aircraft to be flown at a slow speed as possible to Reno Nevada once the plane was airborne Cooper ordered the remaining pilot pilot flight attendant and engineer to stay in the cockpit with Cooper alone in the fuselage the crew became aware that the air stairs had been activated and the aircraft door had been opened shortly after with the aircraft stairs still deployed the plane landed at Reno Airport Nevada a search of the plane by FBI officers confirmed Cooper was no longer aboard two of the four requested parachutes were missing along with the ransom money despite an extensive manhunt no sign of Cooper has ever been found most of the marked ransom money remains missing and the case continues to be the only unsolved air piracy in American aviation history the FBI has uncovered a possible new suspect in the hijacking although the suspect is deceased and as of yet they have not released any information as to this person's identity number three Al Capone infamous American crime czar Al Scarface Capone was once king of the Chicago rackets a Prohibition era gangster he ruled a multimillion-dollar Empire in the 1920s that was fueled by illegal booze gambling and prostitution Capone is also suspected of being the mastermind behind the 1929 st.
