Hello travel companions! Today we are going to continue with the delivery of walking routes through Paris. Today 's will be better known than the previous one, the one from the galleries, which if you haven't seen it, we'll leave it to you at the end of the video. The previous route ran for the most part in district IX, ending in district number I, today we will walk through a part of district XVIII. As I was saying today, it will be a better known route, but in which we will surely discover some different points. Travel companions welcome to Montmartre!!. On this route we will cover approximately three kilometers, counted from the first point to the last, the cost will be €1.90 since we will have a metro ticket. Everything always counted from the first point, you will see how they move to the place. Are you prepared travel companions? Will you accompany me to this very bohemian part of Paris? Place d'Anvers will be our starting point, and from there we will take Rue de Steinkerque, we arrived at the place by metro since we were not staying nearby. Surrounded by shops we continue the walk, you can also take bus 40 if you don't want to walk, but I think it's worth the walk. Take advantage, if you do not have, to buy a bottle of water in a mini market since if it is hot you will need it for the walk, because there will be many climbs in it. The walk down the street is already picturesque because in the background you will begin to see the Sacré Coeur. You will see in the images that there are very few people, we chose to do this tour early in the morning for this reason, you will see how the crowd increases as the hour progresses, but it can also be a good option in the afternoon to see the afternoon from the foot of the Sacré Coeur. And we end up at the end of this street at the Saint Pierre carousel, those who have seen the movie Amelie will remember it from some scenes. Montmartre's beautiful carousel dates back to the 18th century and is Venetian in style. After the typical photos with the carousel and the Sacred Heart in the background, we are only a few steps away from the funicular with which we will go up to the Sacré Coeur, and they also have the option of going up the stairs, but I preferred to save energy for later . So as I was saying, I preferred to save my energy and we made our ascent on the funicular, the price of the ascent is that of a metro ticket, €1.90. If you have not taken out any of the transport passes such as the Paris Visit or the Navigo, you have an option to save on tickets, it is to take out the wad of 10 tickets. Once you are at a ticket machine in any metro station, mark a single ticket, and the options to buy €1.90 individually, or a block of 10 tickets, are displayed. The cost of the taco of 10 is €16.90, it is a small saving but saving at last. Here in the funicular you have a ticket office. The Montmartre funicular has been in operation since 1900, having been remodeled several times since its inauguration. The journey takes just over a minute and carries millions of passengers a year. Hours are from 6 a.m. to 12:45 a.m. As soon as we arrive we are greeted by views of the city and the beautiful Basilica of the Sacred Heart. The entrance to the Basilica is free, and its interior is really worth it. The queue is long, but usually moves quickly. The basilica began to be built in 1875 but was not consecrated until the end of the First World War. There are guided tours to get to know it, the cost is around seven euros and it is perhaps also a good idea to learn about its history and architecture, I leave you all the information on the blog. In our previous visits we entered so we did not do it in this one, in the other videos that we have of Montmartre, from past trips, there are the complete images of its interior. If you want to go up to the dome, yes, there is a cost, and it is 7 euros, we suppose that the views from there must be very good, but since we have not done it yet, it is not something that we can recommend. And we start walking along the cobblestones of Montmartre and direct our steps towards the iconic Place du Tertre. Today Montmartre is a very touristic place, but it still has corners that evoke its past. Where today there are cafes and restaurants, many of the famous painters used to live, such as Van Gogh, Toulouse Lautrec, Renoir, or Picasso. So walking through these little streets has a very special charm, always look back, you will find wonderful images like this.... Although we are showing you how to do this route, there are also free tours that will help you to go through it, but As I always tell you, getting a lot of information about what you're seeing, I think it's a good plan. Montmartre was originally a town with vineyards and wheat plantations until it was incorporated into the municipality of Paris in 1860, since then its territory essentially constitutes the eighteenth district of Paris. The tour of this neighborhood is literally a labyrinth of charming streets, take a detour at every corner you find, you will not regret it. In the mid-nineteenth century, it acquired a bad reputation due to the cabarets installed in the area, but several artists also began to inhabit Montmartre, attracted here by the cheaper cost of living, making it one of the main artistic centers of Paris. Walking through its streets will take you back in time. Terre square. The square is famous for portraitists and painters who exhibit and paint their works in the open air, it is one of the most emblematic places in Montmartre and one of the main tourist attractions in Paris. It is also a memory of the Parisian bohemia of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, a time when various poor painters lived nearby, who later became known worldwide. Historically the Tertre square was the center of Montmartre, opening its town hall in 1790. The characteristic of this square is, as we said, the painters, portraitists that we find in it. The influx of artists caused the occupation of the square's small space to be regulated, granting a limited number of licences. We find here engravings, oil paintings, pencil portraits, in color, in short, everything. You can if you want to stop doing your drawn portrait, the cost will be between thirty euros and fifty. We leave the Tertre square for a moment to return later, and follow our steps to Le Consulat. This short journey of only about 100 meters will pass slowly as we will stop countless times to admire the old buildings of Montmartre. Beyond the fact that Le Consulat is a restaurant where we can go for French cuisine dishes, its façade is famous on the networks, almost always named among the 10 Instagram spots in Paris, who has not already seen it in photos, right? We tempted, we can not stop taking a picture with Le Consulat. Shall we continue the walk? We continue our journey, a few steps distance us from three more points to visit, we make about 200 meters and we will see these places. Charm? Yes, very much. As you will see, these short journeys can take us several minutes due to the number of times we will stop to take pictures, or enter art galleries, in short, what I want to tell you is that to make this tour of Montmartre, take your time, one morning, good late, time will pass without realizing it, especially if it is a sunny and beautiful day as it happened to us this time. If you watch the video of our previous trip you will see that this time we did the tour in the rain. Thus, we arrived at a very photographed place, La Maison Rose, without a doubt another Instagram spot. Ramón Pichot, a Catalan painter, together with his wife, transformed this house, which was his studio, into a Maison Rose restaurant, and it was frequented at the time by the residents of the Bateau-Lavoir and their artist friends such as Dalí and Picasso. We have also seen the facade in thousands of photos, as well as in series and movies, one of them is Emily in Paris. Although we will return to this corner to also visit another much-photographed site, our steps will take us to a vineyard and a cabaret. They remember that I told them that the hill was a town with vineyards and wheat, this vineyard, which is the only one left in Montmartre, is the oldest vineyard in the capital. Just across the street, we find the oldest cabaret in Paris, Au Lapin Agile. We retrace our steps to Maison Rose and walk down Rue de l'Abrevoir to Place Dalida. We will be here in one of the most beautiful streets of Paris. As we said, at one end is the Maison Ros, and at the other is the bust of Dalida, a singer-songwriter whose remains rest in the Montmartre cemetery. Here is also a scene in Emily in Paris that portrays her to this street. If we continue along this street, we will end up in Rue Lepic, and in a few meters we will be able to see the Moulin de la Galette, which functioned as a mill during the time of wheat plantations and which over the years became a dance hall, today we can pass by just to photograph it from the outside from the rue Lepic. Time passes quickly as we retrace our steps to go down the stairs of the hill towards rue Gabrielle to continue descending and reach the I Love You Wall, we will now walk about 500 meters. The style of the area has changed a bit but that does not make it less charming, each corner we pass through has a very special magic. We arrive at Plaça de Abesses and therefore also the I love you wall. The Place des Abbesses is very picturesque due to the movement that we find in it, it has the deepest metro station in Paris, and the decoration inside is very particular. Le mur de Je T'aime or the Wall of I Love You, is a 40-square-meter mural that reproduces 311 I love you in 250 languages, and has become a highly visited attraction by tourists, as you can see in the images. In front we can see the Saint Jean de Montmartre church, in the Art Nouveau style, built between 1894 and 1904, it is classified as a historical monument of France. Shall we continue walking? This charming route will take us to rue Lepic, and to the Café des Dos Molinos, location of the film Amelie. Continuing along rue des Abbesses to rue Lepic, it will take us 500 meters to the Café des Dos Moulins. On the way we see in the distance the already named Moulin le Galette. We see countless restaurants as we walk, we haven't eaten in any so I can't recommend which one to do so, but I can tell you that The Fork application has been very comfortable for us during this trip, look for a restaurant near your location and it will give you the average prices of each one, the rating that other users have given it, as well as the menu. It can be useful when you are in doubt about the prices and quality of the place, I leave the link on the blog in case you are interested and a discount code. We arrived at one of Amélie's locations. The Two Mills café is a café brasserie in Paris, it became famous in 2001 in the movie Amelie because it was the setting where the protagonist worked as a waitress, its name refers to the Moulin Rouge and the Moulin de la Galette, both very close. Speaking of the Moulin Rouge, we will close the route by walking another 180 meters to it. The Moulin Rouge is a cabaret founded in 1889. It is located on the Boulevard de Clichy, in the 18th arrondissement, opposite the Blanche square and metro station, its name and style have been imitated and used by numerous other cabarets around the world. world. And here near the subway for those who want to take another route we finish today's. Travel companions, if you liked the video, but mainly if it has helped you, do not forget to like, share and subscribe, until the next route through Paris.
