THIS UP TO 25 INCHES OF FRESH SNOW FELL IN THE AREA THE NIGHT BEFORE. THE LAWSUIT SAYS OF THE RESORT WAS IN A RUSH TO OPEN FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. WE HAVE REACHED OUT TO ALPINE MEADOWS FOR STATEMENTS. WE HAVE NOT HEARD BACK. >>> TAKING A LOOK ON THE ROAD CONDITIONS. WINTER WEATHER IMPACTING THE DRIVE HOME FROM TAHOE ON THIS PRESIDENTS' DAY HOLIDAY. SNOW HAS BEEN FALLING IN THE AREA, YOU CAN SEE THE ROADWAYS, COULD BE SLICK FOR DRIVERS BUT CHAINS ARE NOT REQUIRED AT THIS TIME. PAUL IS JOINING US, AND MORE SNOW ON THE WAY? >> NOT A LOT BUT A LITTLE BIT LATER ON THIS WEEKEND SO IF YOU HAVE PLANS ALREADY THINKING AHEAD TO NEXT WEEKEND, MAYBE GOING UP THAT DIRECTION, I THINK TRAVEL WILL BE A LITTLE BIT BETTER AND YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND TRAFFIC, JUST NORMAL WEEKEND TRAFFIC. ADDING UP THE SNOW AGAIN, VERY LITTLE THE REST OF TONIGHT. LESS THAN AN INCH OF TOTAL ADDITIONAL CUMULATION AND LATER THIS WEEK WE ARE TALKING ABOUT 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW ON TOP OF WHAT THEY HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED. THAT IS BARELY A TESTING FOR THE HIGH SIERRA, LESS THAN AN INCH AT LAKE LEVELS IS NOT GOING TO BE A BIG SNOW MAKER EVEN THOUGH IT WILL BRING SOME RAIN SHOWERS INTO THE BAY AREA BY THE END OF THE WEEK. LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW. LOCALLY DENSE FOG DEVELOPING TONIGHT, SOME OF THAT OUT THERE ALREADY, AND THAT WILL SLOW DOWN THE MORNING COMMUTE IN ALL LIKELIHOOD. DRY WEATHER TOMORROW CONTINUING THROUGH THURSDAY DURING THE DAY, AND THE NEXT ROUND OF SHOWERS MOVES IN. HE LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BRING US THE BEST CHANCE OF RAIN, NOT A GUARANTEE BUT A PRETTY GOOD CHANCE, ALREADY MOVING IN AFTER MIDNIGHT THURSDAY NIGHT. BEST CHANCE WILL BE DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS ON FRIDAY BUT SOME OF THAT MOISTURE COULD LINGER POTENTIALLY AS LONG AS SATURDAY BUT IN GENERAL THE WEEKEND IS LOOKING DRY, AND LIKE THE PAST COUPLE OF SYSTEMS, THIS ONE IS NOT GOING TO BE A HUGE RAINMAKER BUT WE WILL TAKE WHAT WE CAN GET. THE FUTURE CAST ANTICIPATING ANYWHERE FROM A 10th OF AN INCH OF RAIN FARTHER INLAND TO AROUND A QUARTER INCH NEAR SANTA ROSA. THE FARTHER NORTH YOU GO WITH IN THE NORTH BAY THE HIGHER THE AMOUNT YOU WILL BE. BUT THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE A DROUGHT BUSTER. STILL, WE ARE AT THE POINT WHERE WE WILL TAKE WHATEVER MOTHER NATURE WANTS TO OFFER. SOME PEAKS OF BLUE SKY OVERHEAD, TEMPERATURES, NO VARIATION. EVERYBODY IS AT 54, 57. WE END UP DROPPING OFF AS WE HEAD INTO THE REST OF TONIGHT AS THE WIND GRADUALLY CALM DOWN BUT IT IS BREEZY OUT THERE RIGHT NOW, A LOT OF SUSTAINED WIND IN THE 50 TO 20 MILE AN HOUR RANGE. THESE NUMBERS WILL DROP AS WE HAD PAST SUNSET. THE ATMOSPHERE TENDS TO CALM DOWN DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS BUT TOMORROW LOOKS LIKE A BREEZY DAY, NOT REALLY DEEP BY BAY AREA STANDARDS BUT STILL NOTICEABLE WIND THROUGHOUT THE DAY. MOSTLY IN THE LOW TO MID 40s, SOME OF THE VALLEYS IN THE NORTH BAY DIPPING DOWN INTO THE 30s AND EVEN LIVERMORE HAS A DECENT CHANCE OF DROPPING DOWN BELOW 40 DEGREES. TOMORROW'S HIGH TEMPERATURES ALMOST EXACTLY NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. EVERYBODY RIGHT AROUND EXCEED DEGREES, WHICH PUTS US WITHIN A COUPLE OF DEGREES OF ADVERTISE. RIGHT AROUND 60 DEGREES FOR MOST OF THE SANTA CLARA VALLEY, JUST A DEGREE OR TWO WARMER INLAND IN THE EAST BAY. SHOULD MOSTLY REACH UP TO MAYBE AROUND OR ABOVE 60 DEGREES. THE WARM SPOTS WILL BE THAT 62 DEGREE HIGH TEMPERATURE IN FAIRFIELD BUT TEMPERATURES WILL NOT BE THAT MUCH COOLER AROUND THE BAY. UPPER 50s TO AROUND 60 DEGREES AND MOSTLY INTO THE LOW 60s FOR THE NORTH BAY. PART OF THE NORTH, A LITTLE BIT COOLER FOR MENDOCINO AND LAKE COUNTIES BUT NORTH AND SONOMA AND NAPA COUNTIES SHOULD BE JUST AS MILD AS THE REST OF THE BAY AREA AND WILL WARM UP A LITTLE BIT MORE. A MANY WARM SPELL AHEAD OF THE NEXT CHANCE OF SHOWERS THAT WILL MOVE IN LATE IS DENIED, IT WILL BE WITH US ON FRIDAY BUT IT SHOULD BE OUT OF THE WAY IN TIME FOR THE WEEKEND. SO ANY OUTDOOR PLANS YOU HAVE FOR THE WEEKEND, LOOKING PRETTY GOOD AT THIS POINT. TEMPERATURES WILL BE WARMER ON EARLY NEXT WEEK. HIGH TEMPERATURES INLAND REACHING UP CLOSE TO 70 DEGREES ON MONDAY. AND THAT IS A CONSERVATIVE ESTIMATE.
