Modern Shower Niche and Trim How To

what's up guys welcome back to the channel I have a video on how to install subtle low profile very modern looking trim edging for your shower niche and the sides of your shower wall now the tile we will use will be this 12 by 24 rectified porcelain Carrera and the trim edging that will be installed is this Schlueter Jolley chrome [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] now please keep in mind guys I quickly mark this up within 20 minutes with scrap material this is for demonstration purposes only cut yourself a small sample piece of trim and also keep in mind the porcelain the face of the tile has to hand over to accept the tile that's going to be installed on the sill of the niche 3/8 plus [Music] [Music] and then use a diamond pad this is a 100 grit diamond pad to bevel the edge to make it look factory [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] 1/16 inch spacers now I made my marks here so that these veins and movement flow with the tile installed on the face of the wall you want your veins and you want your movements to connect as best as possible when installing Carrara now it is not very difficult to cut this aluminum trim edging profile but be very careful and cautious some of this aluminum can fling off the blade always wear eye protection hand protection and ear protection is an absolute must when cutting metal like this trim we have a 100 tooth Diablo blade it works great any $20 80 tooth compound miter saw blade will work as well so what we're going to do is my tour all four corners of the niche one thing you must do is run the blade through this aluminum extremely slow clean miters we will need to cut the excess off right here with some tin snips piece number one now we cut the sides and the top everything is dry fect let's mix up some thinset install the tile install the trim and install tile on these two adjacent walls [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] well there it is ladies and gentlemen a quick mock-up three walls hard porcelain trimmed out with Schlueter jolly trim profile mitered at all four corners and then we have Schluter Ron deck to cap off the sides of the walls shorter jolly around the niche is a square trim slitter Ron deck to cap off the sides is a curved trim with a radius around trim as you can see you try your best to make the veins and movement connect and flow what we're gonna do now is very simple let the thinset cure and set up we will then grout and then show you the final product here we go [Music] [Music] [Music] and here it is your final product [Music] [Music]
