mob psycho 100 is [ __ ] great why is it so great let me explain I've always enjoyed one's Works especially one punch man for It's Over the Top epic fights and Peak fiction that would make my 10 year old self jump enjoy but his other work mob psycho 100 hits different when it's much more thought-provoking and teaches us some good lessons when exploring the main character's personal development mob psycho's colorful palette and weird character designs May deceive you at first into thinking it's just another action comedy Slice of Life show but there's something there that's really special with each and every season of mob psycho there's a theme to be had and each theme subscribes to an overarching message about how mob can confront the issues with his life but this in turn allows mob to grow as a person whilst also imparting some of that life lesson to us viewers as well several characters also realize aspects of themselves that can be improved on so let's get into the meat and potatoes of this video shall we I'm gonna show you just how meaningful some of the ideas in mob cycle 100 can become in season 1 and season two I wish I could cover season 3 but aha hasn't come out yet but I'm super [ __ ] hyped foreign [Music] so in the first season we're introduced to the shy timid boy named shigayo kagayama AKA mob wow a bowl cut huh it's like I was staring into a mirror okay anyway he doesn't have any outstanding achievements in school and isn't fit and doesn't really have the best grades but what sets him apart from the other characters is that he's an espa him being an esper is an important aspect of season one that we'll touch on later as the story progresses we find out that he uses his power to exercise evil spirits and works under the guy named Reagan who takes advantage of him before this exorcism company even though he himself has no powers man I love Rick why you say well he's more than just a con artist he's also mob's entire reason for being able to keep going on in life despite having special psychic powers despite Reagan being a dumbass and a comedy relief character he's unknowingly the Catalyst for mob's growth season one is like an introduction to mob's character and what he's like as a character it explores his relationships with other characters such as with his non-espa but very talented brother or his middle school Crush that he's too nervous to approach or the enemies or Frenemies he makes along the way notice how I mention the word enemies and Frenemies now you might be wondering why I did so well it's because throughout season 1 the enemies actually Propel mop into improving himself as a person and teaches him a lesson as to not rely on psychic powers as a means to Define himself with because all the enemies have psychic powers they deemed themselves to be special and above everyone else and base their whole identity on this one thing for what happens when mob shatters that illusion with his overwhelming power well the villains begin to realize they have nothing else of value to provide because they haven't worked on improving themselves with skills forging bonds and friendships or even just walking talking out this is precisely what Teru hanazawa realized when fighting mob in the first season much like all the other villains dimple claw what separates mob from these villains is that he has made bonds and tries to improve himself as a person for himself and others and also when you view yourself above everyone else it just becomes Lonely at the Top doesn't it well mob doesn't need to take the burden of being alone anymore as he has friends to lean on and realizes his powers are just another extension of his personality but it's not what defines him unlike the villains so let's fast forward a bit into the future so during the final battle against claw division's leader mob has his back against the wall and Reagan and everyone else is there to help but whilst fighting Reagan grabs onto mob and lets him know it's okay to rely on others and MOB realizes his gratitude towards his friends and the bonds he has made in that final battle he doesn't need to take the burden anymore and he's grateful for being able to lean on others and thus a strong surge of emotion is what makes mob's power grow even stronger and thus granting Reagan with a thousand percent of his gratitude up here foreign Reagan then proceeds to slap the [ __ ] out of Claude the end no no I'm just kidding uh this obviously a season two so much more fun and character development can be had and it's not solely just MOB season 2 of mob psycho gives us more of the same greatness in its themes about self-improvement this season focuses a bit more on the other main characters and their struggles with how to become a better person namely Reagan and many of the villains or people mob tries to save this season in this season mob comes face to face with a whirlwind of emotions much more than he did in season one so in this season he proceeds to process the following emotions courage to nasty friendship ecstasy shame compassion resignation and finally kindness and we'll explore each of these emotions that he confronts in this season so mob with his Newfound relationships and friendships goes about his life working under Reagan to exercise spirits but as mob gets busier with his life and no longer is reliant on Reagan anymore he's slowly really provides less help for Reagan's company this forces Reagan to confront a setup made by a real psychic which would expose him for being a fraud completely alone as he struggles to prove it isn't a facade Reagan tries to get mob to help him but in turn lashes it out against him and things begin to sour Reagan is exposed for being fraudulent by the other psychics and is scheduled to apologize in a live conference for his exorcism frauds but instead of doing so Reagan simply says you've grown up haven't you mob you see this is an important part because Reagan realizes mob isn't a kid anymore and he can go about his ways in life without guardianship from Reagan as mob watches the conference a surge of emotions hidden and things in their conference room begin to levitate and go out of control allowing Reagan to escape mob meets up with Reagan and Reagan is about to apologize but mob knew all along that Reagan was a fraud but he chooses to ignore it and forgive him because deep down he knows Reagan is a good person who genuinely cares about Mock and that struck a chord with him and what transpires is the most heartwarming scene I have ever watched because mob Echoes back the kindness that Reagan gave to him as a kid [Music] yeah [Music] [Music] and man this scene made me weaker I was just in a pool of my own tears the next big confrontation mob faces is in the form of the evil spirit kg Mogan you know him it's that [ __ ] bastard given the task to exercise the spirit from the client's daughter mob encounters the hundreds of suffering Spirits inside mogami's world and oh boy the animation here pops off but before that mogami tries but fails to trap mob in his world as his bond with dimple and his friends remind him that he's no longer alone simple attempts at bullying like how the clients daughter suffered were shattered in the wakes of mob strong connections to his best made dimple the fluid eye candy pops off as mob fights mugami through the Newfound coach to save those in need from the dark depths of their hearts just as mob was in the past with his 100 courage he easily disposes of origami for now so by now you will kind of get the gist of the theme and Trend here of mob giving it his all to impart what he's learned in becoming a better person to save those in need but of course he still has a lot to learn himself through the Epic sakuga infused battles of season 2 The confrontations of villains in this season provides us with more perspective on how mobs growth has reached the point where he now tries to help those around him but not everyone can be saved some people like mogami can never be saved so let's jump a little bit forward in time for the next antagonist or his life he had been Outcast by Society keeping to himself and being too afraid to interact with the world that didn't care for him Suzuki extended a hand to him by pretending to care about him giving him a job and purpose however when mob engages him he sends back sarazawa's attack which floods him with mob's own struggles making friends but as we know making friends with your own efforts slowly but steadily is a more meaningful process than the hollowness of Suzuki's deal sarazawa realizes this and stands back at this point we can see that mob really has grown and demonstrates so much empathy for people even antagonists fast forward a little bit Suzuki absolutely destroys his son and then mob proceeds to engage with him what transpires is an epic battle between mob and Suzuki going all out mob in the process begins to enjoy the battle due to Suzuki being incredibly strong and also him taunting mob mob loses himself in ecstasy and then is reminded of what's important by his friends he realizes this and controls his emotions and begins to feel shame and that's important because mob can catch himself and realize the error of his ways amid battle whereas Suzuki cannot mob really tries to save Suzuki but he's failing in the end Suzuki is like a reflection of what mob would have become if it went for the countless beacons of light shining through the darkness of one's heart so in a way mob defeating Suzuki is him trying to come to terms of how his life is no longer shrouded in darkness in the similar sense sarazawa the umbrella guy is a reflection of mobs lonely and sheltered past mob tries to show compassion and kindness whilst he resigns from finishing Suzuki off by displaying such kindness to Suzuki and making him rethink his ways of viewing the world he's able to absorb Suzuki's overloaded power an intern say finally be able to forgive him from this development mob continues to grow as a person and what struck a chord with me personally was the message that things can get better from where you are it lets us know that even if you're at the lowest of lows if you've done something irreparable or things are going south in your life there will be people like MOG who can forgive you show you kindness and lift you up just long enough for you to fly so what's next for Mob psycho well I'm super hyped for season three and how mob's character can develop from them and let's not forget the sweet buttery smooth animation that goes along with it and again thanks for watching [Music] good
