hello crix is here and welcome everyone to this cozy gouache mixing video today I have a package which I just received and I'm super super excited grow yourself a cup of tea or coffee or any drink I have red bush now without milk and also if you want to support my Channel please give this video a thumbs up so it can reach more people so this is first time ordering from Rosemary and Co this is a brush company and I discovered that they are selling art tool kit which has been on my radar for I would say at least a year and I just couldn't justify buying it from America but now Rosemary and Co from UK stocks our tool kit paletts and I actually became their affiliate so I'm going to link the shop down below so I got tiny pocket palettes by Art toolkit and I also got one of their travel brushes and this is pocket golden synthetic triangular size number eight and uh it's so tiny I actually wanted to get folio palette which is double the size I think but it was out of stock and I just thought you know what I'm just going to going to get this one because I know exactly what I will do with it and what I really like is really lightweight I have it in black color I think there is silver available as well but I think on the art um on Rosemary on COD they stock the black ones only this is how it looks and I'm going to unbox the the brush the the the shape is not like dger striper it's kind of like triangular it's really interesting I really like dger brushes in just using them in the studio and I thought I will give this a go I have this pocket palett and I just thought this could be perfect for traveling well it's it's meant to be for traveling and I see why it's super lightweight it's super thin and I thought I will replace my current gouache setup which I bring outside and as you can see it's much thicker and uh yeah I have this plastic palette with gouache paints and I actually have a video on YouTube for from two years ago where I shared how I mix some of them since then I have refilled it twice and these two I just refilled like a few few days ago I added I think three more colors since I did it so I thought today what I will be doing I will use this little needle use my Gage tubes and I'm going to create my own color palettes and you can follow along you can um join me and mix pant together I have designer's gouache and I really enjoy working with it I think it just mixes really well together but I also have these two lefron and Borgo a gouache which I got as a gift from one of my patreons and I think let's tip it off and see what we have so these are the colors I will be basing my colors from this one because this works so well together and actually before I start sharing how I mix the paints I'm going to share a little bit more of my past sketchbooks and how I use these gouache palettes uh this is odd orange Sketchbook which I fed in the past and these these are all the colors I have in that gouache palettes but this is 15 pants verus in this palette how many I I can fit 8 10 12 so I have to be wise but I put put we I approximately know what will be in the bigger ones and this is like a mixing tray if I understand it correctly and everything is magnetic and I think it's just really easy to move things around these small ones will probably run out super quickly so I will just F the bigger ones with my goto colors um but yeah I have used these gouache pants in the past from my previous palettes when I go outside I really found that the traditional gouache is really veratile medium to sketch outside because you can get opaque you can get transparent and um mix in between I'm going to skip a little bit uh and show what else I did with gouache so I have this one this is also with the palette and what I found really great when you mix your own colors you don't need to spend a lot of time mixing you can just put them straight from the pans because they have this already this qu quality of um used uh mixed up pan this is one more and uh before that I had this map crunching Sketchbook and I did a lot of um marker studies here but then I switched to a gage at some moment I think probably in the end part this is with gouache um this is with gouache this is gouache this is also gouache and this one and I think this last one as well as this one so I have been sketching with this gouache a lot I don't per say use it for my final artworks but I love to sketch it with it in my sketchbooks so let's kind of replicate the colors I have here my most favorite one is this one I actually feeled a little bit more wide this time but you can see around the edges hopefully that there is more like Misty type of blue color and I'm just going to I think I need to take these ones out actually so the white slash light blue will definitely be in the bigger one and I think I want to use this one on this side to be honest this time I'm going to just go for it and put it straight from the tube because I want to have misty blue color I'm going to mix tiny bit of blue together with orange uh why orange you my task I I want to have it more grayish and if you want to do the color you add usually color from opposite side of the wheel and for for blue color it's orange I'm going to add much less of orange then this blue really like a DOT and then I'm going to add a lot of the white and I think the smart thing is to not add too much of orange and blue in the beginning because you can always add them more I'm going to go outside to sketch tomorrow so it says in the packaging it will dry super quickly so I'm pretty excited for that I hope it will dry overnight in the comments down below let me know if you want to try mixing your own colors as well or if you have done it in the past I am really really curious I think it's really fun thing to do okay I think this is the first color now I have to think what else could be in this bigger one and I think it will be this color which is dark green and I found this beautiful mix which I will tell a little bit more about because it just it granulates I don't know how but it does and I think we should should Mak that color up I barely have any ultramarine left and it requires ultramarine and yellow Walker and they create Magic together let's just see how much ultramarine we have I think we will have to maybe it will not be enough okay you know what let's risk it I'm just going to squeeze ultramarine in here let's use the yellow [Music] Walker at first I had this cadmium yellow color but then I realized it's not cadmium free so I stopped using it I don't want to use toxic pigments in my painting process and that one was toxic so I had to take it away from my palette I don't want to throw it away so I might sell it I'm trying to get more of this ultramarine I think I have to squeeze it all out um because to to get the color I want I really need to squeeze it all it's really tedious process to mix it I think it's because it's so thin it just requires Precision to not spill it okay I'm going to try and test the color out and see if this is the right one okay oh yeah it's pretty good and it does separate I'm going to show you the color I have in this palette this is the one I have in there so it's pretty close but it does mean that I don't have more of this ultramarine to mix it into other colors I really love how it looks here I hope you can see the separation and I was shocked at first when I mixed this color in the past and yeah so I wanted to recreate it okay what are we going to mix next I actually think one color could be just right from the tube and this is the yellow Walker I think I'm just going to put it there because I don't think this color needs to be mixed this is going to be my yellow I really want to have it in this bigger pan because these are so small like super tiny so we have yellow we have dark green which just I love that color and I think what else we could do we could mix the rust color and the rust color I have in the previous thin it's kind of in this color I really enjoy it and I think how I mixed it in the past was yellow ocher orange and tiny bit of blue to kind of make it more muted I guess so let's see I'm trying to not be messy but it can happen so we are mixing with the orange so how we we can mute it down again we add the complimentary color which is blueing this time we don't add the same proportion we add it in the smaller percentage and because the ultramarine is running out I'm going to use the primary blue this time it's all about proportions you can kind kind of see how it mutes down and that is thanks to the blue okay I'm going to try to test it out to see how I like this color oh wow this is such a gorgeous Stone I think also in this case because I'm making a color palette mixing colors I'm trying to use similar colors so it's more cohesive right now I have used five colors in total to make these ones and one one color I really want to make is just classic green and I think I want to make it with the primary blue and yellow V and kind of make it a little bit lighter than that dark one so I'm just gonna try my best it's going to be much harder now to mix the colors cuz it's so tiny in here it's really really tiny in here I don't know how people feel these small ones but maybe it will be all right okay I need to add more blue I want to add tiny bit of white as well to make it little a bit lighter so let's do that so hard to hold it so tiny yeah this looks like a lovely green this could be like a Meadow Green situation going to add a little bit of more white I have to make it into consideration that it will probably dry and sink a little bit which is totally fine so yeah this is the the next color yeah it's it's lovely tone so it's all right okay what else we need I would love to have one dark blue color I have this one here let's just Swatch it quickly it's the only blue color I have in the palette and it looks like this I think I used ultramarine and primary blue and I mixed them together I actually think maybe I will use blue and tiny bit of uh orange this is a little bit more bright so I'm going to add a little bit more of the orange color for this blue I think the ultramarine would have helped because the primary blue is a little bit brighter oh but I think it's better now let's try it out now yeah I think it's all right it's more kind of greenish type of blue but it's different then that one so I'm happy with this color just going to mix a little bit more and then leave it for it to dry I thought I will mix one more green and I have this um olive green color which could be amazing mid green but I'm going to add a Twist I'm going to add a little bit of this blue a little bit of orange to kind of make it more with personality I guess okay I think this is the another green so so far we have three different greens and I really like palettes like that where you have darker and then meat green and light green one more color I really enjoy having is this one over here the second one and it's just white and then it's kind of green but cool leaning I love that color color for distant heels or distant landscape so I'm just going to grab this white [Music] and fill it quite generously and then mix it together with I'm going to mix it with the primary blue and I think also little bit of this Olive but not a lot so there's still so it's quite light toe okay it does need to be a little bit cooler so I'm just going to add more blue Let's test it out I think it's too vibrant it's actually it's actually quite good though let's see from the previous color palette I had I had this one which is yeah I guess more greener than Bluer let's just add a little bit more of the olive green hopefully it will do its thing kind of it's quite similar I guess the one I mixed it's a little bit more vibrant but I think this is perfect because it's [Music] cool but it's it's kind of like cool muted green cool light muted green if it's like that okay I'm looking at the colors and I really want to just have classic Brown and I think I will I will mix I will not mix I will just fill one with raw Amber because I like this one and I think it would be great addition it's actually warmer than I think um ra Amber should be but I really enjoyed this color okay we have three more colors I want to make like Sandy type of color I think I will just mix white with uh with the yellow Walker I'm thinking about the landscape and how I paint when I go outside and these are the colors I would use I'm also thinking about where I'm like sketching and usually it's close to the sea or maybe like in a field I think one more color I want to have is red but I have like cooler toned Reds here this is Aaron crimson and I also have Chinese red and these both are cold tone Reds so I think how I will get warmer one I will oh no oh no you know what I knew this will happen oh no okay I think to not smudge things I'm just going to add them on this tiny card so I don't accidentally tip them over and don't make more accidents I'm going to rearrange everything later but I yeah I think I need space so I'm just going to put these ones up here I'm just going to move this one aside I really like how it's already looking but I might smudge every thing and I don't want accident to happen so I want to have warmer toned red and I only have two cool toned colors and I think I will add the orange to get them warmer and I think I will use the Alin Crimson I am butchering this name it's actually it's still looking like orange let's see how it looks if I paint with it oh no it does look like red that's good and this is really bright red um which is great as like a pop of contrast in my picture okay the last color I think what else is missing trying to think um I use a lot of greens here I'm kind of trying to use all the colors all the primary colors I have in here maybe it will be kind of brownish like light type of brown little bit of green it's turning a little bit more into Rosy type of color and I'm I want to neutralize it again wow it's kind of brown but green brown I like this color my fingers that's crazy okay I'm going to try to move this one okay this is how the palette looks right now it's still wet and I'm afraid to grab into the colors so I'm going to leave them to dry I'm going to share them tomorrow and I think I will also go on sketch and use them in my work so I will share that a little bit later as well and maybe Swatch all the colors in the next morning I came to my studio table and I was really pleasantly surprised that almost all the pans had dried up I think there were two or three which were a little bit softer and those were the bigger ones but I really like the idea when you can just mix their own colors and in the next day go out and sketch or just play with this palette and I decided to Swatch out the colors for you so you can see little Snippets and also I decided to go and sketch outside I was planning to go on um further away trip but it turned out that I was sketching in the garden and it was so enjoyable and peaceful to do so and I decided to bring you with me so there will be little clips from that maybe you will also see the reason why I wanted to get our tool kit palette I wanted to put into some special role and I will chat about it in the next video but yeah enjoy these clips and see you a little bit later [Music] cut [Music] Corners where do you [Music] go breaking borders what do you [Music] know
