Missed Opportunity! Jordan 1 UNC Toe Review & On Foot

okay so this is actually shaping up to be a pretty interesting Jordan release but with everybody talking about this Nico is it really worth the hype let's find out [Music] here we have the box and I mean the Box itself is pretty much worth the hype am I right this thing is super nice obviously it's nothing special this is basically something that Jordan brand has increasingly been doing they're matching the Jordan boxes to the sneaker itself so sometimes they can even get pretty crazy with like we saw on the Jordan one washed black where it had all of the Speckles and the fading color either way this pair comes in a very similar box to what we saw on the Jordan 1 taxi this is just UNC blue instead of yellow so let's pop the tub and let me show you guys today's sneaker it's the Jordan one uncito [Music] foreign [Music] they come with black laces on the pair of sneakers but you do also get an extra pair which is the UNC blue color I kind of would have liked it if they added white laces I think that could be an interesting lace walk at least you do get an extra pair of laces which on other pairs of Jordan ones recently we haven't so in my opinion one of the worst things about buying a pair of Jordan Ones is the fact you have to freaking lace them up nevertheless I always seem to have some of you guys asking about the extra laces and asking me to lay swap them so here you go through in the included blue laces on the other pair and I actually am pretty happy I did I was pretty much ready to ride the blue laces off and just stick with the black but I kind of like the way that they look they're definitely not as bad as I thought they were going to be I do still think I prefer the black but after a while I might just throw in these blue ones for a little change of scenery okay so here we have them guys the Jordan one UNC toe or as Nike's calling it on the Nike sneakers app the university blue Jordan one now we have known about this pair of shoes for the longest time and the release is finally right around the corner in fact for you guys out in the US you already had the first shot drop of this pair on July the 6th now obviously I'm not in the US so let me know down in the comment section how that shock drop went a lot of people have reportedly told me that they were pretty easy to get and there was a decent amount of pairs I don't think that really surprised anyone because the rumor for this pair of shoes is that there's apparently 600 000 pairs they're going to be dropping globally apparently that shot drop that happened yesterday a hundred thousand pairs actually released either way the main release for this pair of shoes is happening on July the 22nd they retail for 180 out in the US or here in the UK 165 pounds now they are going to be releasing in a full family size run so you can definitely tell that this is a big Jordan 1 release for Nike [Music] thank you [Music] you can also keep in mind that yesterday's shock drop most likely wasn't the only one that's going to happen before the main release I think you could definitely expect more exclusive access release more shock drops or however Nike wants to do it it's kind of Nike's new method of dropping big sneaker releases there's usually like a couple pre-releases before the actual main draw and I think it's actually a pretty smart move from Nike because instead of dropping all 600 000 pairs of these things they'll do a couple smaller releases which we'll all end up selling out okay so like I said this pair of shoes interesting release right because Jordan Ones haven't really been selling out recently I mean like even some of the fire colorways that I would have said are guaranteed to sell out are either sitting around on apps or some of them are even on sale now this colorway on the other hand is definitely different this one is a heavy hitter I mean the UNC color blocking specifically on a pair of Jordan Ones has typically in the past made a lot of them extremely expensive I mean Nike even throws this UNC color on other models and they tend to do extremely well also I think also specifically this UNC toe color blocking where you have the UNC on the toe box that makes this one extremely sought after and with all of this hyped this colorway has on the other hand there is a lot of pairs of these things that are going to be released but yeah I think it's going to be a pretty interesting release to see if the demand outweighs the actual stock or if it's the other way around in any case the sneaker itself is really really nice I mean I can easily understand the hype of this colorway there is something just so aesthetically pleasing about the UNC colorway especially when it's accented by the white and black leather panels now speaking of the leather that's actually something that I was a little bit nervous about when I first unboxed this pair of shoes I was like yo please don't be trash leather thankfully it's it's not that bad all of the UNC blue leather panels that you get on here actually feel pretty nice you can see it's all tumbled it feels pretty soft to hand so that's for the toe box and even up around this ankle area and of course the back heel now the black leather that you get around the mud guard the eye stays in up around the ankle area that feels pretty average it's nothing too special it's definitely not tumbled and it's a little bit stiffer then of course you've got the white leather panels which are on the medial and lateral side of the sneaker and they probably feel the most mid out of all of them like it's nothing special at all I think the Jordan 1 taxi is the best most recent comparison that we have for this UNC tow it both in color blocking and materials if you want the quick answer I prefer the leather they put on these taxis over this UNC tote like you can visibly see on this pair of taxis that pretty much all of the leather is tumbled it's also a lot softer just pretty much everywhere feeling around this pair of shoes if you have this pair and you've felt this pair just expect this one to feel a lot softer than the UNC toes [Music] foreign [Music] I kind of wish they did go a little bit above and beyond with the leather on this pair of shoes but obviously it's not going to be a massive deal breaker for most people in this UNC toe is such a fantastic colorway I think it just looks so good and obviously a great pair for the summertime I think in terms of gr Jordan Ones this is probably one of the best colorways that's dropping this year and if you take a look at what's left to release this is probably the best at least in my opinion I mean we do have the Black Toe lows which is definitely a great pair of Jordans but apart from that we got the reimagined ones the Palomino ones satin Breads and most of those pairs are probably the most hype that's going to be dropping before the end of the year but for me personally I'm taking these over all of them overall this is definitely a solid pair of Jordan Ones it's definitely one of those colorways that's not just going to be forgotten in the the next few years I mean again it'll be interesting to see how these release but given the current climate of Jordan Ones just not being the most hyped sneaker anymore these could end up being relatively easy to pick up and on that note there is a ton of other really solid two-in-one colorways that are also easy to pick up or potentially even on sale so just keep that in mind if you don't have your heart set on this pair of shoes it's definitely worth having a little browse at all of the other Jordan 1 colorways that's about and it's a great time to grab some steals while the Jordan one hype is down either way guys let me know what you think of the UNC toe
