A couple of years before Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz decided to fictionalize their marriage as the basis for a TV show (1951) , Lucy co-starred in this incredibly popular rom-com with William Holden. Ball's Miss Grant in many ways served as the paradigm for the character she was to portray in "I Love Lucy," a ditzy, but lovable redhead whose well-intentioned maneuvers lead to plot complications that never compromise a happy ending. It is still very entertaining today i.m.o, especially if one can slip on the social spectacles of seventy-years ago.
