[Music] what is happening everybody and welcome to today's episode why did I buy a mini truck as you can see the mini truck is looking a little bit different since the last time you guys have seen it that's because we have been grinding to get some stuff done in order to get this thing painted by the first weekend of July we'll just start start off with what I'm working on today went ahead and built a frame for our fuel cell now this is not the finished product yet this is just the lower base what I'm going to do is we're actually going to go ahead and drill two inserts on the bottom side of each of those longer arms what that's going to do is give me a spot to go ahead and put a wellnut so we can go ahead and make sure that there's a strap that runs from the bottom all the way over the tank and then back down to the bottom on the other side of course the tank T will be bolted with these four tubes that you see here however the bottom of the tank rests completely on this and this is just a little cutout here so that the tapered portion at the bottom where the outlets go uh has plenty of room on the bottom of the bed speaking of the bed I already went ahead and figured out where we're going to go ahead and put it it looks like we are going to end up putting our fuel cell back here uh just centered up with our rear axle nothing too crazy we're going to raise it up we're just going to drill a nice oval shape right here for our feeds to go ahead and head out from the tank to our fuel pump we're going to also go ahead and probably Mount our fuel pump over here somewhere uh and then run our fuel lines so that they are out of the way I originally was going to go ahead and mount it over here uh this way the fuel lines could just tuck down but it ends up being a little too close to our dry shaft when we're dropped all the way out and I'm not 100% sure we'd have enough clearance for the fuel lines to route at the very least the hard part is is done the lower portion of the frame for the fuel cell is complete so with that we'd have a pretty good idea of how things would sit in here now we do have our original bed floor we're going to be doing some changes here that's not going to be anything we're going to work on this weekend however it is something I'm going to be working on throughout the week in order to make sure that the bed is ready to go since what we're going to be doing is we're actually going to be spraying the bed out with our uh our rust stol bed liner I got a couple cans of this turbo truck bed and this works really well I shot the frame with it um our rear axle along with the back side of the wall here for the bed and the backside of wall that meets the cab just a little bit of extra durability a little bit of sound proofing cuz it does dampen the sound of thin aluminum pretty well so we're going to go ahead and and keep moving forward on that we also need to go and cut off these old mounts they weld on our new mounts that we have right there now these new mounts these are going to allow us to get that extra inch or two if you know what I'm saying so that when we're bottomed all the way out and lay in frame our shock still has about a/ an inch of travel and this way we're don't bottom out our shock and sit on it and risk damaging the mount I was also able to get the doors prepped and sprayed so the back side side of the doors are all stripped out now this is just two coats of the skidar black and two coats of the freaking fuchsia flake those coats are just going to sit on the door when we go ahead and clear the whole truck we'll be clearing this portion as well um but I got those all sprayed we got the new hinge pins and bushing sets all in which is really nice might be kind of hard to tell also went ahead and got these brackets all sprayed uh out in a nice black satin black with a satin clear I used an engine enamel on all of the parts that were bare metal uh and anything that didn't need to be painted with the skidmark black from Roth flake just hit it with that engine enamel something about that ceramic coating that it has just really sticks to the metal a lot better than your regular spray paint we have a bunch of stuff going on over here it is a mess but we got our fenders over there our bumper is sitting over there are fuel cells on its side and we have some additional flares for test fitting the front that's all stuff we're going to work on later this week not a huge deal I also do have one of our skirts resting right there so I'm not sure if I showed you guys these wheels or not but these are our new Wheels uh they are Black Rock Wheels 997s uh this is a type 8 wheel it's a two-piece steel wheel 17 by9 with a -46 offset I am running 1 and 1/4 in spacers all the way around on the truck truck I'm still not 100% sold on running them in the front but if I don't run them they just barely don't clear the 4x4 Fender and if I do run the spacer then that will give us that extra inch and a quarter for our flare um and we wouldn't have to do any work on the fender so I'm still not 100% sure what we're doing here in the front yet I am working on a full Fender replacement but I'm not sure that's going to be ready for this truck in those shots I showed at the beginning of the video I did have the rear flare on now there is a little bit of stuff we're going to have to do back here and it's my fault guys you guys always remember learn from my mistakes if you're going to be cutting your bed up for flares maybe wait till you have the right wheels and ties that you want uh and then you can go ahead and make the cuts I also did get the bed bolted down so this thing is solid uh when ahead and ran a sleeve in the back with a polyurethane bushing on the uper and lower portions similar to what you would use on like a four link I just cut down to the height that I needed to make sure this body line was good and then the front we are running just a 1/8 in rubber mat spacer is essentially what it is just a little disc of rubber I went ahead and cut out perfect for the bed everything here clear so I'm very excited about that there are a couple things that we need to do to the truck once we get the fuel cell mounted I'm going to get the whole truck up on jack stands we need to mount up the fuel cell cut and do all of our aend lines up to our fuel pressure regulator and our rail we also need to make sure we get the position and the bracket mounted up for our fuel pump and then while the truck's in the air I'm actually going to rebuild the whole exhaust so I had built it in 3 in however because the truck does lay frame and I was not able to tuck it up high enough uh there were still about a half an inch that was just going to drag the ground so I decided to go with a 2 and 1/4 in exhaust uh which is what we are going to be running I thought at first it was 2 and 1/2 it's 2 and a/ qu had to double check but we're basically going to duplicate the exhaust we already made and the smaller diameter pipe will be really nice cuz it'll allow us to kind of go up under our bed and do our bed exit if that's something we are still going to end up doing I was also thinking about maybe doing something out of the center of the back but with the fuel cell and everything there I don't really want to put it back there much rather have it come out here it'll look cool hopefully it'll sound cool we do have our Jones compact race Muffler there along with another uh MagnaFlow that is 2 and 1/4 in and 3 in out so that might be something that we put kind of in this section here right before we do our Pie cuts to send it out the side of the bed so this video is going to be a little bit shorter than most of my other ones and that is just because I have been working I know haven't been filming a lot of the stuff I've been doing but that's just because it is easier just to get in here and grind and knock it out I think once we get the paint video out and the truck is sprayed there will be a lot more videos coming out of assembling the interior tucking all of our wiring harness inside um you know mounting all of our compressors and our tanks and final nut and bolt checkup that kind of stuff uh we do still need to bleed our brakes and and uh make sure that our clutch is nice and bled as well and I'll show you guys kind of that process cuz we did delete the dampener we did delete the brake bias back here I'll show you guys how we did that um when we do our brake line video so I'm going to go over all of the brake lines where they land how I mounted them um and how you could potentially route them if that's something you wanted to do now I am going to be running the fuel lines along this side with our brake line that runs to the rear similar to how the set up was on the original right here I did keep this just as a reference for lengths but honestly I've been just doing the own thing now underneath I am still trying to figure out how we're going to get everything mounted up whether I want to go above the supports or below the sports not 100% yet but that all comes with time now we do still have a fair amount of body work to get done but I figured addressing where the Tank's going to go getting all the holes drilled into the bed and getting the tank temporarily mounted so we know where it's going to going to land along with finishing the tubs in the bed which is something we also have to do in preparations for our floor so when we do the tubs in the back I am going to film that I'm going to film all the tub Fabrication in the rear and how we're going to address the C Notch cutout here now originally what I wanted to do was cut all of the old floor out and put a brand new floor however what I'm considering doing is smoothing out all of these cuts after we get the fuel cell mounted figuring out where the tubs are going to go and then I would like to weld the tubs in place with little block offs on each side cuz this the way this is cut is obviously different from our trailer fender that we're using so there are a little bit of gaps that we will have to fill but get those filled in and then maybe do some kind of method where we can just bolt and unbolt this Center section here this way if anything ever were to happen you'd be able to get in here do any maintenance on the bags do any maintenance on the lines or the four link and um that would make if you get stuck on the side of the road super easy pull this off replace a bag replace a fitting replace a line whatever you need to do and not have a problem it'll also uh open things up in here so that if you were ever to lay frame due to a leak or something uh you'd be able to get under here obviously put a jack under here now there's a a bar that runs along here thinking about making a a jack point there uh nothing too crazy but maybe just welding on a nice thick disc with a little spacer Rod about a 2-in spacer Rod um so you get a jack under there no matter what and be good to go to do any kind of service now we do have bump stops on here which uh prevent this crossbar here from laying on our um differential which is great um so I'm really just thinking about service ability in the future um as well as ease of Maintenance as far as the fronts go I don't have anything yet but I am in the works of Designing a bump stop that will bolt up essentially where the bags bolt um and then that that will come out and have a removable Bump Stop um so if something were to happen in the front you were unable to fix it uh you could just Jack the front up put the bump stop in lower the front down and still drive home home with all that being said guys I have to get back to work I need to let this dry a little bit go to the store and get the straps and the punch kit that I need to make our over straps from the lower frame over our fuel cell back to the underside of the frame make sure it is all secured I will catch you guys in the next video there might be another one coming out on Monday not 100% sure yet but hopefully we'll get a lot of work done in here that we need to I do some parts coming from roab as well so I am waiting on some of that stuff to show up in order to finish up some of this body work I hope you guys have a great weekend remember get out there get those projects done and until the next one peace
