hey there Axiom has killed world edit or has it I'll have played Minecraft for 14 years come this October over a year and a half of which has been spent on wavetech creating some of the most complicated decorations for Minecraft's most complicated Farms to make these decorations I use a little-known tool called world edit a mod that I have over eight years of building experience with I've spent literally hundreds of hours learning and practicing every single command that world that it has to offer so imagine my shock and kind of my horror to learn that a brand new building tool was taking over the building Community by storm and allegedly had the potential to replace world edit entirely now if you've been on YouTube lately you might have heard about Axiom from popular content creator MOG swamp he did a Showcase Video that made the mod look like it was going to squish world at it took itty-bitty pieces and after a pile of mine shared that video to wavetech's build chat I knew I had to try it out at the risk of sounding a little arrogant I feel like I have an interesting angle when it comes to reviewing building mods due to my experience with world edit so in today's video I'm going to systematically experiment with Axiom speech and together we'll find out if there really is the world edit killer here's how this is gonna work I'm going to spend three days on stream to get to know and use Axiom day one we'll have to learn Axiom no use in reviewing a mod if we don't know how to use it so step one is to discover all the different utilities day two is the first practical application of using Axiom in a build on day two we'll see how useful Axiom is by itself without any complementing mods such as world edit when we construct a modern cityscape day three is the final test of Axiom pairing it with worldedit to see if the build process is sped up or slowed down by its presence on day three we'll pull all the stops and use whatever we've learned in the previous two days to play around with macro and micro detailing when making a decoration for one of latex Farms after each day I'll tune in with my thoughts on my first second and third impression of Axiom and I will be judging Axiom in the following categories one are its features useful two how intuitive is it to you said features three does it speed up building now this one is arguably the most important for you is truly a guy who spending egregious amount of time designing decorations for wavetech and four is it fun to use arguably this is the least important factor but it's what I wrote down prior to starting this review because while seeing the end result of a hundred plus Hour project is Fun the process in getting there I.E typing in all the commands into world that it feels more akin to coding than it does to gaming you know so now that you know the parameters let's not waste any more time and cut straight away into how day one turned out foreign so we have to create a new world let's call this something fancy Axiom testing world that's pretty fancy right so I think we're all good to go let's create a new world and oh there's okay can I scroll to it oh I can first point second Point scroll to move what what what really it's that oh that is pretty cool I'm gonna have so much fun as mentioned day one was just learning the ropes which ultimately meant goofing around with Axiom but most importantly I began to realize how powerful this mod really was by using leftal on the new Hotbar space we worked our way through the Builder tools move extrude smear stack and clone these tools are excellently implemented and are very intuitive to use my biggest gripe with them being the instructions for their use are in the middle of the screen which reminds me before I continue my review is largely based on what I myself experienced in the mod if there's ways to change where the instructors are located for example like disabling them or moving them to the side I simply didn't get that far in my testing let me know what I missed out on in the comments I'm sure there's a lot the real fun for me began when we started using the left side of the Builder's tools during our testing this is ridiculous oh my gosh that's so cool and look we made a little like floating flower or something or whatever I don't I don't know what it is what it is doesn't matter the fact that I was able to just do that is so cool oh it's fast oh it's very nice and directional that's pretty cool hold down left click to break blocks very fast there we go uh efficiency four shovels be like oh wait I just had a great idea so if I place this down here and then Tinker is turned on oh my gosh that is disgusting what have I made suffice to say if wavetech didn't already hate my decos they were going to now what followed was an absurd amount of time just spent playing around with a tinker part of the mod ah I can see the FPL if I remove this now wait hold on no I turned off block updates do scaffolds work differently no the force block updates doesn't work on scaffolding I'm actually kind of disappointed you that's how you know a mod is good when you work with it for such a little period of time and then as soon as like you run into the first thing that it can't do you're like really you can't do that wait wait wait wait I'm in my office chair let's go hey look and I'm still in my office chair wanna see something cool drum roll please right shift foreign potatoes of the mod this one is almost entirely for terraforming with tools like sculpt shatter and more I really like the biome changer feature as well which is greatly Superior to world at its biome changer where you have to re-log for changes to appear and not to mention all of this is so easy to use however my most favorite feature so far was a lot more simple than any of these mountain building tools take a guess what it is based on this clip did you guess control Z you probably did and I'm gonna make a controversial statement the fact that you can control C while building is the single largest Improvement any mod has introduced ever likely every program you have ever used on your computer has the control Z function and the dev's decision to include it in their mod single-handedly made a huge portion of the building process trial and error intuitive best part is they transcribe your entire command history allowing you to control Z all the way back to the beginning of your session unlike world edit which only allows you to type slash undo 15 times in those hotkeys alone they not only added an insanely useful tool but they also made what might be axiom's greatest tool insanely intuitive to use there was a couple other notes I had about day one as well namely ah run away little grass wall run away angry at out fluid that is there is many things wrong with this image I am I'm bewildered day one ended with nothing but positive notes apart from a few odd interactions like saplings trying to grow despite being frozen scaffolding updating the entire stack and other small things like that there wasn't a single thing I could complain about like I said earlier if you're nitpicky on a mods function after the first impression it's a good mod an axiom is a great mod I'll save a star rating for the categories I established earlier for the end of the video but for my first impression Axiom is incredibly useful decently intuitive and fairly efficient and so so fun day two didn't provide much more insight about the mod than we cleaned on day one but it did allow us to see if practice would increase my opinion of the mod's efficiency modern cityscapes aren't particularly my forte so while we originally started this project with the intention for cubic to use it in a project he's working on it quickly devolved what is this what happened it was okay half a second ago I turned around I turned back and it's bad however we had the opportunity to continue trying out axiom's Builder tools I quickly realized that for my build style I would be mainly using Axiom for the normal hop art functions providing you don't need anything measured perfectly the scroll wheel is a fantastic addition for stacking and cloning speaking of that reminds me of something else that is incredibly important to note this mod is still in beta and is currently being updated literally my biggest gripes with the mod have been patched since I've recorded the footage you see here I have written in my notes that the hopper tools can be greatly improved if you could rotate or flipped clone Selections in just a few days before posting this video that feature has been added to Axiom it's really incredible what the developers have been able to accomplish and it's my understanding that they're constantly taking people's suggestions from their Discord to implement into their mod if what I've shown you so far is enough to convince you to download the mod for yourself you can find the link in their download Channel link to their Discord is in the description thank you [Music] day three was by far the most fun I had while testing Axiom in it we tried to get creative while making a farm decoration exploring the Tinker tools to see what interesting things you can do with structures and foliage with only a surface level understanding of the mod we started out in the terraforming window I don't know its actual name and created terrain for us to get started on since we were also using world edit today I also used light matica using an old building asset we created for the 3500 subscriber special using Axiom with all my other standard tools really helped out much like my patreon Skeeter milky and Broski as well as all the channel members help keep content coming out weekly thanks guys and having all the mods at my disposal was a ton of fun for the sake of keeping this video to the point I won't bore you with every detail from the stream but the stream fod playlist will be linked down below if you're interested to see everything it was a lot of fun with ideas like Trident travel being suggested for navigating the terrain I have a small goal of getting to 14 quadrillion subscribers by the end of August and has a little incentive I'll actually release this build for free at 5 000 subscribers thank you all so much for the support lately really does mean a lot much love guys like I mentioned earlier the mod is constantly being updated with Axiom getting new features left right and Center utilities such as being able to rotate and flip to your clone selection long distance reach allowing you to destroy blocks or pick blocks or make selections Beyond normal creative reach are so so incredibly useful it bewilders me that I haven't tried to Cobble Mods together with world that in the past will allow for a similar effect speaking of that's something else that I truly appreciate about Axiom I have a decently thick mod folder because I only use a feature to for many of them however Axiom consolidates the most useful features into one mod things like far reach or increased flight speed or freezing block states have been possible in the past but including them all into one cohesive mod is a brilliant decision I will be including Axiom in my mod folder from now on it's unfortunate that it's not compatible with sodium and by extension it's not compatible with Iris the mod which I use for my shaders but I'll find a way around the issue simply because of how powerful this mod is so what do I rate Axiom well judging from the categories I mentioned earlier it'd have to be five stars for how useful it is four and a half stars for how intuitive it is only being dinged by the terraforming window five stars for hour boosts efficiency and 10 stars for Pure fun and and yes that is out of 5 Stars I cut out an insane amount of notes for the sake of runtime on this video but I'm fairly certain that I'll make another review on Axiom once it's officially published this mod is too good not to feel free to subscribe to see that when it comes out and peace
