hi it's asian mom cooking here today i'm going to show you how to make mince pork congee and these are the ingredients you need half a pound of minced pork green onion minced ginger and sliced ginger one cup of uh long grain rice salt soy sauce sesame oil oil corn starch and water first i'm going to wash the the rice so i'm going to put it in a pot but you can use a small container so rinse it at least two to three times well you can rinse it until the water is clear so the first time it's quite foggy okay i am cooking one cup of rice today and so i am going to put 9 cups of water so it's a one to nine ratio zone like this one cup one full cup so you need nine cup okay so now i have added nine cups of uh water so i'm going to turn on the heat to high and it has to boil i'm going to marinate the pork half teaspoon of salt one teaspoon soy one teaspoon sesame oil one tablespoon of cornstarch and the minced ginger and this is a i let it shred it's for garnish green onion is also for garnish but you can add some in if you like but uh in case there's a picky eater don't put it in so now mix everything together okay my meat is a little dry so i'm gonna add a little bit of water okay like a teaspoon if not then add more so make it until it's easy to mix okay one teaspoon is good okay my kanji is boiling now so like this and i am going to check the bottom make sure nothing sticks to the bottom now i am going to uh add in some oil or just using vegetable oil or you can put any type of oil it's like a tablespoon okay so let it cook for 15 minutes on high heat don't cover otherwise it will spill so just let it cook like this for 15 minutes checking it to see anything that sticks to the bottom it's been like cooking for a boil for five minutes so right now nothing sticks to the bottom so stirring it every five minutes it's been 15 minutes boiling without the cap and it's high temperature so it's like this the texture so right now all you have to do is turn off the stove put the pad on and wait for half an hour okay it's been resting for a half hour and let me check the texture let me turn back the heat too high also let me stir it so pretty good nothing sticks to the bottom so let it uh the texture is not too bad cook until it boils if it's too thick add some water in and then let it boil so it's boiling now and make sure nothing sticks to the bottom [Music] and then it's not quite the texture i want so cover it back up it's boiling so now i turn off the heat and maybe another 10-15 minutes okay it's been sitting for 10 minutes it's the texture that i want it so i'm going to turn on the heat on high again and once it's boiling i am going to add the meat now the kanji is boiling and nothing sticks to the bottom and now i'm going to add in the meat a little bit at a time the meat is all added in so just keep on stirring it make sure nothing sticks to the bottom the heat is on high make sure it's cooked but right now it's not cooked yet so let it boil okay it's been five minutes after i put in the rinse pork so it is the texture i want the thickness that i want turn off the stove [Applause] okay i'm going to garnish my congee like this and a little bit of green onion and if it's if it's not salty enough for you you put in some salt a pinch of salt and then just mix it and taste it again until the flavor that you like but for myself for this one i need to add a little bit of salt okay thanks for watching please subscribe and click the bell to get notified next time i upload you
