[Music] right i'm just gonna say this from the off i bloody love this pickup truck i mean love it [Music] this is the ford ranger raptor it's been in my life for a year now and um the one problem about this car and i need to get it out there straight away it's the same problem you have if you have a swimming pool you find you've got a load of friends that you never knew you had as soon as this ranger rap that came into my life all of a sudden people haven't spoken to for ages are coming out the woodwork hello mike got a pickup truck any chance we can do a dump run in it hello mike got a pickup truck can we get a seti everyone has been on the phone pestering me about me helping them move stuff as soon as i got a pickup truck like you know when you've got a swimming pool and all of a sudden people knock at your door with a towel wrapped under their arm it's the same problem but this has been a godsend in my life because i've actually moved businesses during the time that i've had it and i've put everything in the back of this truck literally everything and it swallows it up it can take a full size pallet in the back what is good it's got a load box at the back as well so when you put stuff in the back you've got this sliding cover that you can slide over and lock so your stuff's secure at night which is very nice and not only that i can tow a fantastic great big 20-foot woodford trailer behind with whatever i want on that trailer the towing capacity is brilliant and the way it tows is fantastic so this has been a real joy to have for the past year and i gotta tell you just as a usable vehicle as a daily driver and i drive a lot of other cars to show you how much i've used this i've done nearly 18 000 miles in less than a year it shows you how much i've relied on this ford ranger raptor let me tell you what it's like to drive well first up you've got a 10-speed automatic gearbox that comes straight out of the mustang gt it's silky smooth it's lovely you may think that this car has got a great big v8 engine up front or a great big diesel engine but no it's a two liter diesel engine but produces 213 horsepower but this car also has 500 newton meters of torque and when you think about that it's more than a well it's like an audi r8 you put your foot down and this thing is just hauls and the halls and when you're telling something behind you that's where it really comes in that talk you barely know it's there inside the cockpit is exactly like you'd find in a luxury passenger car it is motorsport derived it's got a motorsport steering wheel and seats that really hug you in all the right places it's got a paddle shift for the gearbox so you feel like you're in a much more sportier vehicle 8-inch lcd screen with connectivity to your apple devices or whatever else it's got apple carplay built in electric seats both driver and passenger and it really is a wonderful place to be and i've done nearly 18 000 miles behind this wheel up and down the country towing vehicles carrying stuff and i've always got out of it feeling refreshed with a big smile on my face the other thing i really like are the driving modes so you got six driving modes you can choose between normal sports we've got grass snow rock mud and sand we got baja which is fantastic so that's if you're driving over sand dunes and rock i just drive it really in normal mode and that's been good enough for me not to 60 is 10 seconds it cruises very happily at 70 miles now on the motorway i use the cruise control it's a wonderful place to be i like the lofty driving position as well because you actually feel higher than a lot of the suvs out there on the road you are looking over the top of the traffic and that's due to its great big height that it's got it's got this sport suspension all the way around it's got rear shocks as well it's not like a leaf spring at the rear and that's why it drives so well it drives more like a car and that's one of the other good things about this vehicle it's not class believe it or not this big pickup truck is a commercial vehicle it's classed as a passenger car so that means legally you can drive this into your municipal dump and they don't charge you for putting any waste in uh so i've been going backwards and forwards to the dump in this and they just have to smile and wave at me as i'm got bricks and rubble and all kinds of stuff in the back of the towel bed it's been absolutely brilliant for doing that the price is 50 grand and i think for 50 grand this is an absolute bargain and as i say it's been in my life a year and if it's not in my life for a couple more years i'll be a very sad man because this has really grown on me this vehicle i absolutely love it by the way everyone around me loves it too we've been using it a lot uh when i've been making my tv shows we've been having all the camera kit in the back we've towed stuff with it so much so they like it that a few of the people that i work with have actually taken the fancy to this one and they've gone and bought their own so it shows you how good it is so if you're in the market for a pickup truck that does a little bit of everything it's smooth and it rides like a car and it's got great passenger comfort then look no further than the ford ranger raptor i love it [Music]
