Miami Cruise Port | WHERE TO STAY BEFORE A CRUISE | Fun and cheap activities near Port of Miami

hello everybody thank you so much for watching my name is brittany if you click this video you're probably going on a cruise out of the port of miami or doing something else fun in the area so in today's video i'm going to share with you guys where we stayed which was the holiday inn port of miami and what's around the area the things to do i just thought it was the perfect location for getting to restaurants and shopping and seeing the cruises and everything i just thought it was great so i wanted to share with you guys that and some other things to do in the area and then at the end of the video i will be back because i'm going to go over the prices and things for uber so that you guys can budget that a little bit more and a few other things so i will see you guys back in a little bit okay so our flight left around 7 00 am and we get in around 10 30. i definitely recommend if you can just take an early flight so that you have more time to do the things around miami for that day our check-in wasn't until four but the website said that there was a baggage hold so we were fully prepared for that but we got lucky and our room was ready when we arrived so we did have time for a quick cat nap before the big day ahead of us so we sit at the holiday inn of the portland miami i highly recommend this room because of the location mainly it's right across from all of these activities that you don't have to take an uber for and you can just walk around if you want and look at things for free or you can go shopping and you can do boat tours there was just so much to do because of this hotel in this location you can see looking out the window right here you can see the ferris wheel that's where we walk to right across the street and of course you can see the cruise ships which just made me so happy and if you don't have a room with this view you can just walk right over there and look at all of the cruise ships it was seriously the best so they did have a little kiosk if you're feeling a little bit more adventurous or if you have an extra day and you want to do some more things around the area but we just decided we were going to go right across the street to bayside marketplace and that is where they had everything right there for us okay so you can see this is the hotel that we stayed at the holiday inn right there and this is literally we're at bayside marketplace so that is how far you have to walk you just have to cross this street and they do have scooters and things around the area if you prefer [Music] so yeah this hotel is a little bit more than the airport hotels but location is key now if you're flying in at night time just so that you don't miss your cruise ship the next day i recommend just staying at one of the cheaper hotels because you're not gonna have time to do anything anyways so this was midday and there were so many restaurants and things to do the atmosphere was so lively it was very fun we did fly in on a saturday so maybe it was a little bit more hype than normal i'm not sure but yeah look at people were dancing already and so right there they have the tours that take you to the places around the area or star island where you can see a red's house and roseau donald and things like that so yeah super fun we didn't do that though we instead we got some shots cheers first drink on vacation [Music] so then we went shopping for a bit [Music] so this is included you can just hook up your phone and take a picture [Music] so [Music] we are at bayside marketplace what do you think about it i like it it's got a mixture like flea market shops and [Music] other shops that no one would shop at the views are expensive shops there's people who shop there it's just not us but yeah we're looking at the cruise ships and i haven't seen one in so long and so excited but this is fun we're staying at the holiday inn and this is right across the street so we just walked on over and we have a drink and it says and i have a long island so this part is totally optional it was like an extra 20 but around 5 p.m we took an uber over to miami beach it was like a 15-minute ride but it was so nice he got to see all of the cruise ships up close and the main reason we went over here actually is to watch the cruise ship sail away because our crews left on a sunday so there were cruises sailing away on a saturday and so we got to go on the beach and watch them all go out into the ocean and it was totally worth it this is how close you are to the cruise port so that's where all the cruises come out of and then just right over here that is the bay front park that's where the bayside marketplace is and the hotel we just had our uber drop us off at the mcdonald's over there that was right next to all of the shops so we did a little bit of tourist shopping and then walked over to the beach that's all parking in the middle of the road oh my gosh [Music] [Music] we are standing at the beach that we always watch the people standing on so we're at miami beach and there are five cruise ships leaving right now you can see them i always see this beach when i'm leaving the cruise so it's really cool to be on this point of the beach so excited after two years we are happy okay well we're leaving lance hess to literally drag me away because this is awesome [Music] in the holiday end they have their own bar and here in the morning they will have breakfast [Music] so if you are a basketball fan the miami heat literally play a second down the road from the hotel so you can catch that if that's something that you want to do but we were walking to a cvs to get a 24 pack of water so obviously i had lance to carry that back so something to consider but you can take an uber there if you want and i felt safe walking there the whole time but yes i wanted to point that out because i felt like that would be the most reasonable price for things if you forgot something for your cruise or you know whatever it may be so then after that we went back to bayside marketplace for the nightlife [Music] orange juice and liquor and we said with the extra to the two dollar shot of whatever we did have to buy his suitcase because lance broke our suitcase so 99 you got a hard cover love this store growing up if you look up their hours online it will say that they close at you know nine o'clock or something but that is just the store hours but they have tons of bars and restaurants that stay open [Music] [Music] as you can probably tell we stopped at a bar and got some much needed nachos [Music] back in the room so we can enjoy our cruise tomorrow i'm so so so excited morning of the cruise and we did actually get a voucher for a free breakfast so we ate that it was very good and then we're gonna take an uber over to the port [Music] so we are back i hope you guys enjoyed the footage i tried to film as much as i could within the one day trip basically before the cruise while still enjoying our time if you do stay at an airport hotel then you're not to get all of that kind of stuff and i think it just adds on to your trip unless you're you know flying it at nighttime then you know stay wherever whatever's cheap um but safe but yeah i thought this was a great spot so anyways i wanted to go over some prices here i did write down how much different things were so that you can kind of budget so when we were actually coming from the airport going to the hotel it was 18 for that and then you know make sure to tip of course um and then if you were to take a taxi it was 27.50 but you do need cash for that so just kind of remember that taxis charger buses things like that they do have mostly our cash and so we just we like uber we we know how to use the app we just we're good with it and then in the video we did go over to miami beach that was actually a little bit expensive it was just five miles away and it was 1777 and then we had a tip as well but it was a little bit more expensive because we went over there in the evening and it was a saturday and people that's when they start drinking and you know you can't drive so uber prices will go up then when we did go from the hotel to the port it was 12.86 and then a tip that is for almost a three mile drive if you ask for a ride they might send you over to the black car service it's supposed to be more like luxurious it's like nice black suvs or something but it was forty dollars a person when we went and you know maybe you can bargain a little bit but we just were like and we'll just do an uber so that was much better and there was tons of taxis and things outside of there it's such a popular area you're not going to have any trouble with that i have a little anxiety with that because i like things pre-booked and so you can't really pre-book you know riding over to the port and you know that was hard for me so now that i've done it i feel comfortable with it but i just wanted to share with you guys so that you feel comfortable as well so then leaving the cruise going back to the airport it was a little bit more complicated but it didn't really have to be i think it was just what happened to us so we did get an uber and it was taking the guy like 25 minutes to get there but it was pretty packed and we can see his little trail where he's going he got really close and then all of a sudden it said your driver is not available and never said he was there or anything and then it said recalculating another driver then that driver said she's finishing up a ride and she'll be there and she did end up coming but we had to wait almost an hour for that which again was fine we had a later um flight but if you guys are in a rush maybe it's something you don't want to do we would have taken just like the charter bus there or a taxi but it was cash only and we didn't have enough cash by the end of our cruise because we the rest of our money we just most of it we just left with a tip so the charter buses was 20 each but they were right there like we could have just if we had the cash we could have just got on and been done not had to worry about it it would have been more expensive but like less stressful so worth them and then it was 27 for the taxi for you know both of us because we're both in there so that was cash too so we did have to wait for the uber and um there was no atms or anything outside of the cruise port that we saw anyways so just kind of a little fyi there and another thing that i found to be really helpful which i found out too late but i think that it is great advice to give to you guys is if you sign up at the holiday inn website to be a member and it's free you can potentially if available it said you can get free um late check out which was 2 p.m and that would be great because you can't get on the cruise until the afternoon so you can have your room still and you know go shopping or do whatever you want in the morning and then heavily check out so i thought that was really good it's a rewards membership you can sign up on their website and then quickly i just wanted to let you guys know i'm not sponsored by the holiday inn or anything there were two other hotels that were like pretty close to the holiday inn one was intercontinental miami and the other yve hotel miami so definitely price check if you want to i just have never stayed there i only recommend where i've actually stayed at and where i had a good time at and that was a holiday anyways thank you guys so much for watching i hope this helped it's such a short time
