a fortune from gambling at his casinos going as far as setting up gambling operations in Cuba his luck would run out in the end though as the rise of the Cuban Revolution led by Fidel Castro led to Lansky losing his businesses and Fortune with his later years seeing him trying to flee America due to tax evasion charges so what was life like for one of America's most famous Mobsters Maya I need alongside his criminal Associates to have control over some of the gambling operations in the country which included the racetracks and casinos Batista of course would be rewarded handsomely by Lansky and the mafia things would be looking good for Lansky as Cuba was set to make him money with his gambling operations as the gambling laws in America during this period made things difficult for him to continue running business there however the rise of Fidel Castro would send shock waves through Lansky's criminal Empire as Castro's socialist Revolution which looked to the nationalization of Industries would drive out outside influence from Cuba such as the American criminal underworld this saw Lansky's business operations such as his casinos being seized by Castro new Cuban government lans's later years would see him try and flee America as he was sought after for tax evasion in 1970 who would go to Israel um Mr Lansky I'm afraid you can't stay in Israel what do you mean have you
