[Music] we did not even expect it to run 17 months we uh when the album first came out we thought okay you know we'll do three months in europe and then we'll do maybe 10 months in america but uh afterwards the momentum of the album was still going very strong after those initial 10 months and every month it was every month after that there was another month added and uh also we got to go to places like australia and new zealand and down to south america and um we we didn't expect it to be that long i mean that's one of the longest uh any heavy metal band is toured i mean you have your people like bruce springsteen go out for four years or something but uh it was fun i mean we took a seven month break from the time we did the injustice for all tour and that was a a seven month break after being on the road for 17 months so we really needed the break we were really run down and burnt out a bit and uh every every chance we got to get together that's all we could talk about is uh is being on the road and getting back out on the road so the first opportunity we got to to play these gigs we just jumped on it and yeah we really missed being on the road even though it was that seven months seemed very short or it was i mean we were definitely uh wanting to get back out [Music] writes a majority of the lyrics and we all tend to think the same because we come from from we all live in the same area and uh we're all the same age and we're all in the same situation and uh us being as tight and as close a unit as we are we tend to think alike in the way james thinks it makes sense with the way we think naturally and i think james's lyrics are or are very confrontational i mean they address the situation and i i believe in everything that that james writes about i stand behind it also we did did it right and we did it at the right time we uh we through doing this video we we realized that the the video format works for us now at this particular point uh now that it it now that we can approach it i mean it opens up a whole new thing for us doing video it's it's interesting to see what it will come out of it in the future also because now we're not not directly opposed to doing videos it was bound to happen anyway punk pumpkin and heavy metal were bound to meet in the center and uh fortunately we were there first we were there at the right time also what happens was we listen to all the riffs and we take the best riffs off each tape and put it on a master rift tape and all the main ideas come from that master riff tape and then things are built on top of that and that's basically how we do it our management which is coupon management click bernstein peter minch they stress to the record company elektra phonogram over here that um that we wanted for artistic control of everything and we wanted to uh be able to see everything and finalize everything before it saw the light of day and cliff and peter really stressed that fact and said that it was an important factor if you sign this ban we want to want to do it that way and that's basically how we did it as far as maintaining our sanity well that doesn't happen too much they just tend to go insane [Music]
