META QUEST 3 FULL BODY TRACKING UPGRADE!

today we're going to be upgrading my full body tracking setup with the quest 3's new upper body tracking using virtual desktops new emulated trackers and also using dentex virtual desktop body tracking configurator so we can turn off the AI legs and only enable upper body tracking so we can get the crazy enhancements of upper body tracking but our actual legs tracking and use them in conjunction instead of just the headset and controllers we can do a new upgraded full body tracking you're also going to want to stick around till the end of this video to find out how two lucky subscribers can win any VR game on The Meta Quest store anyways let's install dentex full body tracking configurator for virtual desktop boom so if you watched my previous video right over here you would have seen that we had to go to the virtual desktop Discord that way we can access our beta testing features for the downloads future herar here it looks like as I was making this video today it's no longer in beta it is now a release an official release so it's basically updated make sure you're on the latest version and I'm going to have a link in the description to the GitHub page so you can activate dentex full body configuration check dentex uh virtual desktop tracking configurator full body tracking configurator once you go there you just want to click on the link and then from there I'm going to download the 6.1 because for some reason Chrome won't allow me to download the new 1.7 I've tried many different times and it didn't work so for me 1.6.1 is working uh maybe 1.7 worked for you um but just unzip unzip the folder I'm doing that off screen so once you're here you're just going to want to mess around and for me I'm going to turn off lower leg joint left foot joint right right wait so there's pre-made settings up here so upper body with hip and then upper body only and then elbows only Uh crap okay so it looks like I selected that already so upper body only is what I'm going for so once upper body only is enabled what this basically is going to do is it's going to give us this new shoulder and elbow tracking that's more advanced than just the standard head and controllers it's going to give us that uh tracking with the cameras on the quest 3 and we're going to get better elbow tracking which means we don't need trackers for these points anymore and in conjunction with the lives we're going to have a way better full body experience than just the standard hip two feet two controllers and head you know what I mean yeah so just like that it's done and now we're going to fire up everything in Virtual desktop and just see how this works we're also going to you know get our controller set up you're in Virtual desktop you're just going to want to make sure that you know you have your emulate steam VR tractors then you're just going to want to open VR chat all right so once you're in VR chat you should be able to see your new trackers and that they're only for the the upper body don't mind my terrible messed up blend shapes when I'm in the to POS I I really don't know how I mess this up in unity um but yeah so now you can see my new upper body trackers and then all you got to do is go to open space calibrator you know you guys should be familiar with this and pair your controllers turn them on there they are they all should be visible we're just going to click Start calibration and then you do your little swirl Leaf so then all I got to do just click calibrate bam all right so now you can see that my movements are now more organic for the upper body we're going to do some more interesting Dynamic poses so like tests let's check them so obviously we have our legs so that's awesome um and we have our fluid arms so like now we can test or fluidity God I look like an air vender bro right or boxing who I don't know how to box it just bear with me boom boom boom boom okay okay I mean dude right this looks much more better more fluid more smooth I'll show you guys comparisons so see how that [Music] works but yeah just for your basic movement standing up and looking more expressive and not so stiff this upper body tracking with the Vive tractor seriously does add better tracking like motion after you know like it it it gives it more life for the upper body it looking smooth let's switch to a um one of my fur balls here's this Bean you can just see how God it's like yeah your our shoulders are just much more tracked there's your elbows again there's like they're slightly delayed but damn this looks freaking looking good this looks good dude this looks this looks good I I got to give it props for the this upper body tracking this looks good all right so as you can see here with my body movements I have this crazy super like stiff shoulder movement my elbows no longer properly track so now my elbows only moved depending where my controllers are so it's just and right as you can see my it's like my shoulders are forever like my whole upper body since there isn't really any trackers here right right it's it's just not the same in my opinion right let me try to get as Wiggly as I was I mean it's still full body you know what I'm saying but like they just look at these punches like they don't extend like how my you see how this happens this crap right now like I used to operate full
