okay time to raise this motor putting a hydraulic steering on it so i need to remove the motor anyway to remove the cable steering off of it so it'll be a good time to raise it up and we're going to take it up to the fourth hole and raise it that three quarters of an inch which would take it to two and a quarter inches above the bottom of the hole a lot of you guys have thinking that it's one more hole maybe two more holes so we're going to go up one more hole and find out also going to show you guys a little bit more on how i do it i'm doing it by myself with just basic hand tools so i'll go through and show you what i did and how i'm doing it to show that you can do it as well too [Music] okay here's the setup so engine hoist hook two engine plate just a couple of seven eighths inch mild steel spacers with some fender washers bolted right to the top of the flywheel which is right in line with the right line with the heaviest part of the motor keeps everything keeps everything in line doesn't swing around too much so now we just have to loosen the four bolts so i have an access hatch to get into my bilge my bilge this is the battery bay and then that's how you get into the bilge so i have the two bolts and the strengthening plate down there that i need to i need to get to so i clamp the breaker bar to the underside a bunch of extensions with a universal joint [Music] ah aah all right now the tricky part we got both bolts all uh all juiced up and now we got to push this motor in and get it even [Music] and not push the bolts back out lower the motor a little bit here [Music] all right let's see if we can get these in got one started got the other started now we're gonna have to raise it up as we push it forward keep an eye on both of them there we go so now we got the motor in we got a nice bead sticking out we don't mind squeeze out on this point all right let's put our plate on let's put our start our nylocks so that way we don't have a motor moving around on us slipping back out we've worked our way up we're going 55 foot pounds now for the final twerking so so now we got to do now is clean up that uh that squeeze out and disconnect everything and we'll do the uh we'll do the hydraulic steering uh tomorrow so i'll get another video and then we'll get it out on the water take some footage and see where that cavitation plate sits okay back on the water we got the motor warming up let's take it out let's see what uh let's see what she looks like up on plane and we'll take a couple passes i'm also going out and doing a little bit of fishing today's opening for the rock cod season for us so let's get out on the water let's see what she looks like take some footage when we get back in see hopefully we can catch some fish while we're at it so i'm pleased with the positioning you can see the cavitation plate is skimming the water i didn't get any more performance gains as an rpm increase but handling drastically improved i got rid of the chine walking at wide open throttle it's planted more i'm going to be making a couple of sharp turns coming up it's not blowing the prop out or anything else so definitely improvement [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you
