[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey my strong running friends hope you guys are doing well today it is a beautiful day I'm out for a long run so I thought why not share some of the mental tips I use during those long runs when the mind starts to tell you the legs are burning you need to stop you've got to take a rest try some of these tips out I hope they help [Music] southern number one and one of my favorites is counting your steps take out of your left foot right foot and count every one of those steps and go as you hide you want I like to go up to 100 but 'mentally take your mind off of everything else all pain cuz it's really hard to think about two things at one time so simple one two three four five six twelve see how I even count pursued stopped counting as you won't be thinking about it you know I stopped counting it that's tip number one but help me get over those hard low moments at running tip number two is another counting exercise but it's intervals so when you're tired and it's like you just can't run any further start doing intervals count 25 steps to walk and a hundred steps of running 25 steps of walking hundred steps of running and just let that take that walk rest slow down and then get those hundred steps in of running and just do that over and over and over again and pretty soon the miles will just count down tip number three is simply having the conversation to talk you out of wanting to quit running you're running your brain your mind to say running it hurts you've got to take a break but you got to have that conversation ask yourself my cramping my stomach hurting and what's the problem why am i quitting you got to get past your brain wanting to tell you that it hurts they've got to quit your mind it's gonna fail or your body so have that conversation talk to yourself talk to you how about you can't do this even remember the reasons you're out here I think about why you started this check number four you've probably heard it before maybe you do it maybe you think it'd be us but it's mantras using a saying over and over to make yourself feel better take your mind off things one of my favorites is actually through my song and it's kick up the gravel take the path less travel I'll say that over and over but it could be anything run hard be strong don't stuff stronger and stronger by the mile this is what you came here if it doesn't challenge you it doesn't change it could really be anything you want it to be be simple I can do this I can do this I can do this whatever it is just repeat it over and over and just take your mind off the pain things you're feeling well that is it for today I hope you enjoyed these it's good give me a thumbs up subscribe to the channel be awesome keeping close to 5,000 subscribers but enjoy your day get out there keep running and practice that mental straight try these tips out until next time [Music]
