that was an easy fight [Music] good morning and what a beautiful one it is first thing i got to do this morning is bring some cover crop seed down to the local retailer you guys have heard me talk about cover crops before what i've got in there is winter rye we're going to spread it over one of our dry hills hopefully get it to grow a little bit cut down on some wind erosion over the winter it's a little cold out there and then hopefully plant green right through it in the spring that's my idea anyway [Music] there now they will take that they will blend it with some fertilizer spread it on the hill and everything will be magical it's all going to be great believe me now that we're done putting grain in the bins we still got quite a bit of tillage left to go we got jim out running the ripper right now and we actually got 20 000 bushels of corn to pull out of these bins delivered to one of the local ethanol plants so i'm gonna fire a truck up here dad's got his running we're gonna go to work always check the oil and always check all tires using this specific precision instrument and they're taking the speed tiller away from us which is fine we were done with it anyway but did a heck of a nice job i'm a little sad to see it go now somebody who was running a combine ate up a couple of tile flags we've got to replace those so that we know where our tile inlets are i'm not going to name any names here but i am going to go replace these flags i guess somebody beat me to that one looks like this one needs a little blue pill and this one is is just completely demolished hey look at that our lift came for washing the dryer that's always a fun job at least the weather looks really nice this week so shouldn't be too bad everyone else is moving and there's no fires to currently put out for me so i'm gonna take the mandeco and the 8360 across the road and start running some tillage always check the oil this machine's got the adjustability where we can run the disc blade angles from 0 to 14 degrees from the front to the back separate so we got two separate banks of discs on there it's really handy that way i've got them both set at 14 degrees now trying to throw and mix as much dirt as i possibly can on this heavy corn residue but it leaves it nice and smooth i like the job that it does the downfall is that we don't have a big enough tractor on it we've got the 9560 but jim's using that on the ripper so ideally we should have a bigger tractor on here we should be going faster i've got a 360 horse tractor on it now that struggles to pull it at seven eight miles per hour with the the discs set that aggressive but it is what it is we're gonna do what we can out here that's one of the most mesmerizing things ever the first trucks are back now so i jumped across the road back into the yard to check some tires on the third truck keep these guys going this truck i'm gonna park underneath the leg here because i've got a portable grain vac on its way it's gonna be here in an hour and we are going to clean up the mess back here that somebody made what happened with this ugly situation is i climbed this bin pounded on the walls and said well we can go in there for about 40 more minutes 35 minutes later i came out to shut it off we went in for about five minutes too long my math was off i gotta set up the camera in case you tip it over on myself that went down there easier than i expected yeah so we are setting up the walingua 3510 agrovac here this is a portable vac it's got a castering wheel and handle we pulled it up here ourselves and the plan right now unless it changes is to suck this corn up and route it directly into the conveyor and into the truck this looks like it's going to work out pretty handy supposed to move 600 bushels an hour some of that capacity goes down as you add the longer hoses but what am i pushing here what do i need this one just to prevent any splatter we're going to set up our professional system here for keeping the splatter down old aluminum race car doors serve many purposes everything is a little bit noisy so i think maybe we'll treat you guys to a montage with a time lapse and we'll get this sucker all cleaned up [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] we didn't do too bad so there were some rotten beans underneath here that jim and i shoveled out of this bin before they're still underneath there we don't want to take any more of that that's junk same with this stuff down here on the ground there's about an inch to two inches of rotten stuff we're just gonna shovel that separately and bring it out the back and get rid of it i don't want to run it through the grain lake but that sure beats the shovel wow that was a fair amount of corn we got uh oh there's got to be 500 bushels in there at least 400 anyway so now i'm gonna move the truck out of the way grab the moline bring it over by the grain dryer and uh we're gonna dry we're gonna suck up some of the dry chaff underneath the dryer and get that out of the way we had incredibly nice weather for harvest which immediately turned into eight inches of snow that stuck around for 10 days and then we had mud and slop for a few days and now it's supposed to be in the 60s this week for a couple of days which is just unbelievable 60s in november i i pretty rarely see that i don't know honestly i don't know if we've ever seen that but look at the mess look at the mess we made wes you don't want to just lift that up that ledge yeah too much he probably could he just doesn't want to show off can you see zach i can see at the moment until i gotta tip him down we'll see how this works it's always a pain in the neck to shovel everything underneath here so this should be nice [Music] well the way it turned out this stuff is just this is rock solid after getting that snow on it so we took all the light and powdery stuff off but i'm not gonna keep wes here all day i can shovel this a little bit we took a couple bucket loads out of here now i'm gonna try this thing in my favorite spot which is the bottom plenum of the dryer that fills up with stuff every year so this is the stuff i got to climb in on my knees and dig out and this isn't too bad but as long as we got a vacuum here let's get it out of there hey wes yeah this job we just did in here this might be the greatest day of my life [Laughter] well that was helpful we uh we got a bunch cleaned up still got a lot to go but that was from walinga i will link them down below becky we'll link them down below check them out they make all kinds of different sizes grain vacs they also make the air blower systems like we got out of the back of our dryer so we're going to be in touch with those guys that portable one could come in dang handy but check them out if you're interested in anything like that look at that sunset setting up to be beautiful i'm gonna move a couple more things around in the yard here before it gets dark and then tomorrow we're going to resume cleanup and tillage and all those other kinds of fun things in the meantime i got to do some stuff for the family tonight so i'm going to call this a day for you guys thank you once again for watching sincerely appreciate it this is going to be a busy week so we're going to be pumping some videos out thank you for watching everybody keep it between the rows well i got done with that and i was bored so i figured why not work for another hour or two
