Meguiar's Perfect Clarity headlight cleaning kit

okay this is the headlight on the sable we did the lens cleaning thing about a year and a half ago and it lasted probably about three months and then it fogged up into this again so the way these are driving at night I might as well not have headlights because all it does is blind everybody in the oncoming traffic so we're going to try something different this time I used McGuire's before but that was an abrasive that you sanded it down and you polished it and you sanded it and you polished it this one is all liquid so it's supposed to be a light polish and a buffing with the special acrylic clear coat and it's it should last a year they say so we're also going to probably do the truck here because we did them the last time - oh wow yeah they fogged up pretty bad okay so we're going to give it a shot and we can compare and contrast this is how they are now and we'll see what they turn into alright this is what we used originally last year requires heavy-duty headlight restoration it used sanding and polishing and abrasives and all kinds of fun stuff to do this now this is the one we're going to use today it's also McGuire's and I like the products so we'll see how this one handles and this is not sanding this is just basically liquid and coatings Jim is trying a different product on his he couldn't wait his does a lot of sand and abrading and his also uses a water dip which means everything that he's scraping off of there he's putting into that water and then putting back onto the light I'm going to try this one hand sanding or hand polishing I guess they'd say all right it says for best results apply to a clean cool and dry headlight in the shade mask around headlight before use well my paint is shot so I'm not too concerned shade product well okaythat's well sure I've actually been shaking it longer okay squeeze a quarter-size amount of perfect clarity cleaning solution onto a cleaning pad using a back and forth motion Carolee clean the entire headlight surface reapplying the cleaning solution as needed wipe the heads light surface with a clean cloth to check progress alright this is the cleaning pad from the old one and the new cleaning pad stick right to it which is nice okay make me look like an idiot yep I think this will get a little bit of editing okay that's about the size of a quarter you feels like it's drying out a little bit wait something soft it looks a little cleaner but not a whole lot yeah mind you this is in real time that we're doing this so how'd yours turn out Jim there's a double-faced the yeah yeah here have another one too usually lexical no I might do it on the other side see if that works better on that one see what this looks like Oh got it no it looks a little better this is just the first stage we think compared to the other headlight definitely clear it's too been a little easily yeah now you have a polish for it afterward it's a spray-on headlight coating but I want to just polish a cleaning solution that's that's what I'm using right now I am putting in a quarter sized drop at a time there pence that's an American quarter it says a back and forth motion so I'm not not going like this this I guess is the point where I'm most concerned as far as the turn signals you want those to diffuse be nice and brighten and Larry it's like a rubbing pump it yeah it has grit in it you can feel it all right what do you think it's much better than it was and I'm not going to get much more out of my arm just doing that so it says for best results apply in the shade clean cool and dry head lay that has been prepared with McGuire perfect clearly cleaning solution shake well before use I wish I could read apply one medium wet coat of perfect something a perfect priority headlight to the entire headlight surface overlapping the previous past by 50% let the first coat drive three to five minutes then follow with a second medium wet coat to completely seal the headlight levels the coating will be dry to the touch in three to five minutes and fully cured within 24 hours so where'd my rag go I just did that God knows what this will do to my this small feeble finish that I have book desk not yes you know what yes stick that along good idea he's very clever it doesn't mention about doing this on a windy day so I would recommend don't do it on a windy day whoa damn pardon my french definitely better oh yeah okay so far I'm super impressed let's see let me let me take a picture the other the other lens and we'll see what the difference is let that cook for three to five minutes it says so we go over here and we look at that now Jim just did his right you did yours well yeah okay they'd look a little better now you used what a 3m kit huh yeah I think L Jimbo is going to probably come over and redo his try just bring this one the bit okay give it a shot which letter you doing this okay seeing what that does I really didn't make that much difference you had it pretty clean we'll see I'll leave that one that way and leave that I will tell you huge huge difference yeah if you want to try that that cleaner on yours you know with a little hand pad go right ahead see if it makes a difference holy crap I can see you reflected in it that really did a great job I'm just going to turn on the headlights and see what they look like well big difference the one on the I on the passenger side look thrill foggy to me like it just makes a haze well let's see alright a bartender bar before you do that turn it back bone again I don't want them to get too hot because it says not to put this on a hot light oh yeah I see a spot now nothing yep that's the high oh yeah there's a there's a huge difference all right I want to put one more coat on okay that's the second coat on there I I am super impressed I can see the light bulb inside I couldn't do that on the other one so let's take a peek at the other hand and Jim came up with a good point which was basically don't use the drill just if that thing worked as good as it did go with that so I'm going to do this side now we'll see how that turns out this is the second coating Jim and I were just discussing something which would be he did the driver side of his truck with the coating he polished both the same using a grinder polisher this so he did both at his the scene and we're going to come back in six months and see how his held up and we'll see how these held up in six months because they sucked the last time they were really not cool okay that was the second buffing herb whatever you call the cleaning let's call it clean huh I hear puppy trying to come out standing okay so it doesn't look all that crystal clear like this but can I have that top very well I guess you don't want to seal that polishing compound in there okay and shake well and they do give you quite a lot here this is enough to do with the cleaning compound at least probably 20 headlights minimum and this now I'm not too sure because I'm putting it on pretty heavy okay I'm seriously impressed with this very much so all right let's okay that's the second coat done I am super impressed so recommendations James buy this stuff man buy this stuff it's McGuire's perfect clarity headlight restoration two-step kit and it definitely works well I do have to say that holy crap goodbye okay all done all dried Wow oh what a difference and there's actually beams on the wall behind me that is so cool all right buy this product McGuire's two-step headlight polishing cleaning perfect clarity stuff whatever I had on the label bye okay that there is a tremendous difference you can actually see them on the road and that's the i-beams holy crap what a difference I am so super impressed by this product you
