Mayhem as 30 buildings given same address | A Current Affair

well now mayhem with the mail in one of australia's biggest strata complexes 30 buildings 2 000 residents and they all have the same address even the poor post is confused the postman's arrived townhouse eight eighty one to eighty six this time and now the house yeah the house may be the same it might be that side and once again all hands are on deck i don't it's house number eight in the in the plan it is called house number eight nothing number eight you know you're in trouble when the postman can't find your address i got a little bit confused he's not the only one it is very confusing horrendous such is life living in australia's second biggest strata complex so what about this yeah so this is number eleven we have got house we have got townhouse we got duplex this is duplex that's right so there's townhouses duplexes units houses you deserve more money mr postman two thousand people live in a mix of apartments townhouses freestanding houses and duplexes 30 buildings in total and they all share the same address 81 to 86 kuralee avenue homebush west in sydney now in a normal suburban street 81 to 86 would work like this with three homes on each side not here no 81 to 86 currently avenue goes on and on building after building block after block street front after street front everyone here has those six street numbers yes too many people sharing just a few numbers so they added in letters of the alphabet that only made things worse sadia has just one townhouse but now four listed addresses unit 28 8186 corelli avenue townhouse 28 8186 venue townhouse 28 g 8186 corelli avenue and townhouse 28 78 g marlborough road how did this happen i have no clue when the developers purchased the land here it was called 74 marlborough road and the sign is still up which isn't helping then they changed it to 81 to 86 currently avenue continuing it on from a nearby road each building has a letter for three years harry has lived in building m for melody there's building o for athena oh that's not helpful or n for jenny oh dear anyway look up where is building m it doesn't show up in google maps or any of the varies or any maps it only shows 81. and 81 to 86 is a very long road with lots of homes yes yeah it is adding to confusion is the fact there are many alphabet buildings with names that don't match the letter and do you go in lobby one or two fortunately there is a sight map at the front gate r is here so ours on here but there's no r on the map where kevin is the complex manager with a quick fix this is better ah perfect trying to get deliveries here it's ridiculous um you have to stand out the front and direct people in it's just never-ending delivery drivers getting lost for like 20-30 minutes just roaming around the area they don't know where to go oh here's one now the numbers is very hard to find though yeah and there was that time when emergency services were called initially they were so much confused which particular building they have to go to so i wanted to test things out myself and send an express envelope to sadia the day before i sent you an express package did you get that not yet and his mail had already arrived but a little later when sadia was helping the postie that's mine it did arrive i sent that to you thank you that's for him look it's from me brady i sent him that as a test to see if it arrived and it did but i'm not too sure if i wasn't here that he would have got it anyway everyone here has complained to every authority they can think of council australia post the state and federal governments has anybody been able to fix the problem no not yet so life goes on in coralie avenue no choice no choice but not everyone is sticking around we're out here we're done we've had enough you've got a feel for those left behind good idea bye-bye bye-bye good luck yeah that's pretty funny if you don't live there in a statement strathfield council told us it acknowledges the frustration faced by residents and will work with them to reach a resolution you
