Maximize Your Art Studio Space with these Creative Tips

hi I'm Tiffany and I'm an artist and this is my [Music] studio so let's talk about well space often times I have two or three or sometimes even four paintings going on at the same time I hang them on my walls so I can look at them each day think about what the next step is going to be if I have 10 minutes here or there I can do a quick glaze put it back on the wall um just a great way to store and think about my current projects I bought my easel at Michaels um I just got a nice one nothing fancy just something for me to start out on since I just started doing acrylics a few months ago I can use it to photo PHH my artwork is at the same time I can sit down on a chair I can stand up if I feel like it it seems pretty sturdy as long as I don't get anything too big on it I attached a cup holder to my easel to put my water in that way it's nice and handy and I'm not trying to find a a spot on a table nearby I have my iPad holder close by so I can use it for my reference materials so let's talk about my desk it's basically a board from Ikea used for Cabinetry on two filing cabinets I put easy liner shelf paper on it to make it look like wood and it works great Walmart is a wonderful place to get all sorts of supplies for your art studio I went shopping just to see what I could find looking through the kitchen wear looking through the bathroom stuff um and then of course the art area and the office area I found this great little salad plate that works wonderful as a palette I found this these dip bowls or if I'm just using gesso if I'm gessoing a canvas I could use that wasn't sure what I was going to do with the butter dish when I first got it but it has been great it holds all my little note cards that I use to test my paint and it also holds my colored pencils um and it fits Copic markers perfectly the spoon holder but it works perfectly to hold your brushes while you're using another one or getting paint everywhere so Walmart has these util packs of washcloths for very cheap under $4 I believe um I use those as my Rags so in my desk drawers I have a pallet drawer a wood burning drawer and then a miscellaneous storage drawer so in my palette drawer I do not like having one big palette when I'm painting so I do individual palettes for every painting I got these super wonderful stay wet palettes at Michaels and I just get one for each painting that I'm doing these petts are fantastic um so I know that when I open it up I still have nice creamy paints to use and they're not all dried up fantastic purchase definitely worth the money it is so wonderful to come in every morning and see this beautiful Masterpiece on my wall full of art supplies I got my pegboard at Home Depot I bought eight pegboard panels there was an accessory kit that also I could purchase and some shelving so I bought all of those things had my handy husband hang it up for me all sorts of hooks and things came in that accessory kit this is how I hung my acrylic paints so some of my paints didn't have this little hole to hang it on a hook so I used binder clips got them at Walmart super cheap um very pretty and I clip them on to my paint for my brushes I got on Amazon and purchased a kit that was for the peg boards um that held cups now on to the art supplies I love all art supplies I think I own basically all of them color pencils is probably my favorite medium um so I have a whole bunch of those from Faber Castel I used mason jars to store them so I got had the lovely shelf that I got from Home Depot and I put the mason jars inside the shelf and split them up according to color and it turns out beautiful easy to find the colors I'm looking for I did the same thing with my watercolor pencils um just using the mason jars in a shelf started using inks when I did inktober challenges in the in the past I just started using Copic markers and I am getting a pretty good collection at this point at Walmart I found some clear cups to put them in and now I can see every color that I have for my pastels I found some little bins in the bathroom section at Walmart to store them in and then of course the mason jars for the the accessories and my charcoal pencils in the pegboard accessory kit I got at Home Depot it came with a couple of little cup like holders I use that for my erasers and my sharpeners I have my watercolor palette and my gouache palette on one of those shelves on the pegboard as well I've set up my own palettes that's a whole another video that we can do another time how to set up a palette like I say I like to see all the colors all the things that I have when I'm painting and don't have to think about it too much it's just all right there for me to use and then I have some miscellaneous shelves this store things like MJ pod for collage um different mediums for acrylics and oils on the same wall where I store my current paintings my husband built me some shelving and a little workbench on one side it stores our CD collection ction the other side has all my miscellaneous art books and reference books as well as all my supplies for my cute little reptiles and of course every Studio has at least one animal I have Odin and Rogue and then I have two cats Nova and Squishy and then this is my milk snake Nam Zed and of course there's Angel my trantula thank you so much for watching I hope
