Max Wedge Power! Mopar 440 dyno session and combo using trickflow 270 heads!

hey guys welcome back to the channel so great video today we're back up at Pete's Place hanging out on the dyno so our cruising and racing season has come to an end uh we might get a couple more cruises in still we're still getting okay weather out uh but in the winter seasons that's when we moved to everybody's favorite time of year Dino season uh Pete's got all kinds of stuff going on up here as usual and he invited me up here to come hang out and check out this 440 based RV big block Mopar makes some big Power on the dyno this is going to be a really cool video because he's actually already run this thing it's all broken it's good to go so what we're going to do today is we're gonna run it as is and then we're gonna swap intakes ad spacer add jetting and try to push this thing to the max first thing we'll do is let's walk you guys through the whole build and that way if you want to copy it you can okay here we go with that build info look at that unit okay so it is a 440 based big block Mopar it's the raised deck unit it has a bore of 4.350 a stroke of four one five oh which makes it 490 3 cubic inches and we do have a compression ratio of 11.8 to 1. um stock block uh P got uh girdle in the bottom of this thing or anything like that girdle push lifter boards solid roller out of the box heads and out of out of the box intake okay yeah so at a stock block girdle in the bottom uh moving up to there the camshaft is solid oil like Pete was saying at 50 000 stop it lift it's a 265 269 duration 651 lift uh on the intake 654 on exhaust on a 110 lobe separation now the big kicker is these are the trick flow 270 Max wedge heads we have not yet seen those on the channel most times we're up at Pete's Place it's got the 240 heads these heads obviously with the 270 Inlet Runner are much bigger using a Max switch style and you have to use a Max wedge intake that's the big kicker here today so he's got a couple that we're going to try out this one is completely unported and then we're going to move to the ported unit there we'll talk about that when we do the swap over and then on top we we have a 1250 Dominator carburetor so should be a really cool combo big Power um five rockers one five rockers Harlan sharp rocker [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign okay so here we go we got our final established numbers made a couple pulls back to back make sure everything was hot and happy but here you go 771 at 6400 and then look at all this torque in here 693 at 5400 so that's pretty much exactly what Pete was getting yesterday out of it so that's why he gave me the call and told me to come down here and check out this Beast so now we're gonna go ahead and start swapping that intake Pete is already on it and we're gonna see if we can get a little bit more action I would have been opened up plenum [Music] and here is that intake that we're going to it's the same uh super Victor Edelbrock intake but you can see all the port work on the inside of the plenum area it's been cleaned up in there they haven't touched the runners um but it has been opened up in the plenum area so this is what's going on next and then we will try out the massive super sucker just gonna show you guys the ports here on those 270 heads real quick look at that really nice trick flow once again open up some more Mopar guys out nice plate too it's really nice looking we love trick flow okay so here's the intake coming off you can see completely unported untouched from Edelbrock then moving over same metal blocks super Victor with a bunch of plenum work done completely opened up on the inside Runners haven't been touched but you see all that plenum work there [Music] okay speech just getting this guy buttoned up he's looking at the Port alignment on the inside and it's not a perfect match on the top he thinks it's a bit of a wall type scenario but he's gonna press on he still thinks we're still going to make a bit more power and then we can add the spacer to this guy as well so okay so Porter intakes on uh dominators back on and then pizza and screw it we're going straight to the two inch Superstar sucker intake spacer all right let's light her up [Music] [Music] foreign [Applause] foreign okay here's our results from the first test with the ported intake and the two inch spacer and you can see we're up from where we were on our previous test uh we're making now 776 at uh 6300 and then the torque is almost at 700 foot-pounds looking like uh six 698 there at 55. so Pete's seen a little bit of a lead condition on One Bank he thinks he's Gable gonna sweep some more power out of it so he's already in there draining the ball we're gonna do a jet change and uh make another hit okay so Pete's just finishing up that jet change went to some big dog 102's on that leaner bank so tighten those guys up and then we're ready to make another hit [Music] [Music] foreign going down so that's done we're gonna fire it up once again [Music] foreign foreign boom okay here are those final numbers look at this 788 6300 and look at all the torque man 710 at 54. oh this thing is an absolute Ripper oh man maybe dreaming about Big Blocks over here look at this and this is like the awesome thing about this motor is it's nothing spectacular it's all out of the box stuff we do have a little bit of Port work on that guy but you know honestly the other intake was very close as well so you could copy this combo very easily what a ripper those trick flow 270 heads are putting in work love it okay guys thanks a lot for watching we had a great day up here at pizzas again what a great package for all you 440 guys those trick flow 270 heads are just outstanding you do have to run a special intake for them but if you like this video and you like this combo stay tuned because Pete actually has been working on a six-pack motor or a six-pack intake for this motor he's had some Port work done he's added some material so we're gonna be able to fit a six pack onto
