Matted cat attempts multiple escapes | Cat grooming

hey guys so this is Lucian Lucian is a rescue cat he's about five years old right now he's really matted he has never been professionally groomed before so today he is getting a lion cut I have never groomed him before so I don't know how he's going to behave he is wearing a Thundershirt right now which I am going to leave on him because it does help calm animals down hopefully he'll let me clip his murder mittens and then we will take him for a bath after he's been pre-shaved good can't please be nice okay your parents said you were nice no biting [Music] you freed your nails trying to get out of your crate okay I'm going to attempt to shave with the 10 blade first she's got a lot of matting [Music] [Laughter] [Music] foreign [Music] this is all matting here that can't be brushed out foreign [Music] you can see all these little bald spots here and that's where the hair was being pulled right out of the skin because of the matting it was so tight to the skin [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] just stretching the skin as I shave because I have super thin skin and you can easily get caught in the blade [Music] [Music] [Applause] foreign [Music] [Music] okay the lovely cameraman is going to help hold the cat while I shave its back end [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay so this is just warm water with soap and it is clarifying shampoo today please don't jump kitty cat nope nope nope stay he has had baths at home before so he should be relatively used to this okay [Music] it's okay I don't use the shampoo nozzle on cats unless I know it's a cat that's very much used to being groomed and is not afraid of water otherwise the shampoo nozzle will really scare them I'm just holding the skin at the back of his neck to keep him still I'm not lifting just holding that usually gives me a better handle on a cat that might try to jump out and scratch it's okay it's okay well I hold the cat he is going to start rinsing slowly just to see how the cat reacts okay I'm here okay okay [Music] it's okay it's okay okay that's better it's okay okay now it's a symphony your brother is singing too this right leg right now no fun um okay towel please no no jumping off fast but I'm faster yes lay down okay see how he reacts okay foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] oh God so as soon as I took the happy hoodie off he was really scared of the dryer so I'm gonna put him in a crate with the fan on him which is going to be a lot less loud and a lot less strong and he should be okay just to dry his head here because it's a little bit damp and then he will be ready to get his full cut that shows you the difference in the happy hoodie how much calmer it makes them okay now we're gonna finish off his shave go back over him with a 10 blade to smooth out the haircut and then do some scissor work and then he's done [Music] okay you're almost done [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] just going to brush out his Mane and his tail and paws okay you know I'm just evening out his Mane using the chunkers [Music] too big kitty cat very good cat [Applause] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] a little bit of cologne he is all finished and now I'm going to groom his brother if you guys want to see that video it's on the main Channel girl with the dogs and yeah it was really good let's go straight in there go on go on there you go
