Masterworks.io Vs Makersplace - ART work Investment redefined

hello and welcome to asgen tech forum in this crypto slash investment alternate investment series of video we are going to discuss the artwork or investment in art and in my previous video we have reviewed openc from creator perspective that mean if you want to sell something or sell an nft how you can use openc but in this video we are going to review two websites to prominent art websites from buyers or investor perspective first is masterworks dot io and second is makers place they both are alike at the same time very different and we will talk about that in detail in later videos in later section before we deep dive i want to make this disclaimer that this is no sponsorship or promotion and this is not an investment advice either so if you want to buy or sell after watching this video please do your own research all right let's get back to the first website or the first avenue which is masterwork dot io masterworks dot io it is now a unicorn company after their latest round of funding so that stands for one billion dollar evolution what is masterworks.i masterbook.io is a website where you can buy a piece of or a fraction of a classical art multi-million dollar art right without investing or holding the complete ownership so that means many people can come together and be a uh part of that uh owner of that investment and how that works i'll we will talk about that so masterworks dot io today is available the site is today is available on invitation basis only that mean you have to request invitation you get probably one round off phone call or interview with master books dot io and then you become member once you become member you have access to the site and what you can do when you go to their site you can see the offline the paint and the artwork which is available for purchase right and appear on master books dot io website here you can see we have some multi-million dollar art available right so there are two or three available right now there are some very in uh helpful video and past reviews available right so as you can see this artwork is almost 22 million dollar right and yeah it comes with a deal sheet which tells us more about the artist the artwork etc and how much it is already subscribed so the minimums or smallest fraction in masterworks io is 20 right so you can buy in 20 denomination so one unit smallest unit is 20 then this is the member only area and you can go and um check a few things uh deal sheet is going to give everything about the deal price database and uh there are a lot of information about the artist and how their pri uh price database is working with uh what was their last sale and all those things masterworks dot io if you are a u.s resident you do have access to the secondary market that mean you can buy and sell your your whole your unit of holding in secondary market right but other otherwise you just buy a fraction of the painting or artwork and get an ownership certificate mind it once you're buying a fraction of the artwork you are not entitled or you are not getting any soft copy or hard copy of the artwork right from asterworks dot io all you get is the ownership certificate also masterworks and io is unique in a sense because they have worked with financial financials and each artwork is treated as securities just like the shareholdings so your offerings are treated as security and that mean when you buy and sell you pay taxes just like the equity right at the same time masterworks dot io they make sure that they are they keep this artwork safe and insured so that in future whenever the price is appreciated your master works like io can go ahead and sell it and you get based on the selling price you get rewarded right so so far they have 67 artwork purchase at the time of this recording we have three artworks available for investment and as i mentioned minimum 20 of investment you can make and it's a unicorn company now so so it's a good avenue for alternate alternate investment right and if you're in u.s you have option for secondary market that gives you a pretty good liquidity as well the deal all the information about art and artists is available in deal sheet and you can see how much it is subscribe and all those things you can see here all right so pretty neat and clean website pretty simple model but i would say simple but innovative model what else you need to know is uh they charge you annual fees so 1.5 as it stand today one point five percent of annual maintenance fees is there and very important masterworks dot io doesn't buy it directly from any artist what they do they always buy from auction houses premier auction house houses that mean the nobility and genuinity of the artwork is guaranteed today masterworks dot io doesn't offer any digital art like nfts which is the latest craze but the last round of funding comes from galaxy digital which is very big on nft and digital art so i'm not surprised if we see nfp getting listed uh pretty soon in masterworks dot io but this is just a spelling speculation at this moment all right let's uh go to the next website which is maker's place and maker's place is more of the new gen nft craze website right so it has things like drops and this is more like an open c right but with the with a caveat is unlike openc which strictly work on crypto here if we go to uh purchase and bids and payment setting you can see i can either pay from my paypal account that mean i can use my credit card to purchase the painting or artwork or i can connect coinbase however in openc which is really a blockchain based uh nft marketplace you have option to collect multiple crypto wallets like using metamask wallet connect so you can connect anything pretty much anything not restricted to just coinbase however mark maker's place is a kind of mix of it so it has digital art slash physical art not everything is blockchain here but most of the things are blockchain and this is the pretty much i would say constraint at this moment at the same same time flexibility because you can buy our piece of artwork using your your credit card right so let's look at the website drops as it say nft drops right so what are the new or upcoming drops you can see here the various artists upcoming artists and many pixel arts are there and as you can see the prize is listed not material nothing solana but this is a 1920 this is a pixel art it's a video but price is pretty much listed in proof of authenticity it is a edition of 10 yes so it's a ethereum it's a maker's token v2 contract id and all those blockchain details are there right okay let's look at some other offering straightforward offerings not a gif so here you can see this all these items are listed in 8 that mean these are blockchain native and you can actually make an offer or buy things why i'm picking only videos i don't know maybe the videos are the latest craze or something okay uh what i like about makers place is their search feature so you can go to search you can apply certain filter like you can say prices because i really want to buy um some cheap nfd's or inexpensive nfds which is just single edition so say ten dollars to a hundred dollars there's no matching creations artwork maybe i chose a very little so let me go to makersplay marketplace an edition of one that means it is the only one of its kind you can know more about artists you can make an offer you can either favorite it or you can even go ahead and select right it all details are here and then you can see you're purchasing the full non-commercial right to the creation i'm not sure what does that mean that it does that mean that i cannot put it for um display in my art gallery and collect rent so i'm not clear about this but yes all this artworks on marketplace they are available immediately for resale so once you buy it you can definitely go ahead and sell it in the same platform but please make sure that you review all the details before buying your artwork so that you know that what you're getting into and here this is the thing i was talking that i want the original mint a single edition under 500 bucks and these are my options right like you can see so you can make an offer you have dollar list value listed this is listed in ethereum that mean you have to pay with ethereum let's go back and check something which is listed in dollar right addition of one okay make an offer here as you can see this is asking me to make an offer with a credit card so what confuses me is how i can buy artwork with my credit card and make it like 100 blockchain uh blockchain native right so i'm not sure what they're doing uh uh in the back end but yes you do get all the contract details as i didn't mention there or maybe this is the first contract when you pay in usd dollar uh it create a blockchain transaction and after that maybe it will have all the traces right so this is what how you can buy using your credit card or ethereum uh two payments are accepted at this point of time in maker's place versus masterworks dot io which is purely uh digital uh not digital art but purely artwork from real artists at this point of time and this is very high net worth uh classic artworks which a single individual owner cannot investor cannot afford but you can go crowdsourcing way and become a proud owner of uh classical artwork right and maybe in future if prices appreciate you can make a money out of it however marketplace it's mix off like what open seas and solana nft marketplace is doing it is a mix of physical world slash digital art where you can use your credit card your uh coinbase wallet and buy and sell digital arts slash nfds right so these are the two things i wanted to discuss with you because we have already reviewed openc uh from creator's perspective but from buyer's perspective it's worked pretty much the same i am going to put the link in the
