squeezie forward faster house it trying to build that up and it's like hey you can swing we'll just pause their game until you figure it out do you not recognize that there's a 100% save file on this and lose a bunch of time that really ends around you should drop the story well it can end like a personal best paced run back or something a lot of games have it like you need to make safe states and stuff for a marathon or something but this runs already marathon safe just by default I don't have to change anything I do for a like a no reset run got some time to kill before doc needs me at the lab let's do a little spider workout in the city I'm not getting any phone calls like I should be right now because the collectibles give you tokens that you can use to upgrade your items and stuff if I didn't have any downtime in the run at all I wouldn't be getting anything but that gives you it gives you downtime and we capitalize on that I wish I could do something to help doc I could call Harry ask him to talk to his dad Norman never listens to Harry even tried to kill funding for his research stations those stations is nearby see how they're doing well here he's in Europe must be some don't know just newer games I can't I do anything wouldn't let me web anywhere so a lot of the newer newer games can attract a lot of newer speedrunners and they just don't understand that you can play on like earlier patches they just see like a timer at a gdq and that's a they don't know about a lot of other stuff that goes down and speedrunning you turned the game on you start the timer and then you say let's pick charities but and and donate to cancer and then they're like what you're loading screens are different or like well I don't have the fastest platform or it excuse me excuse me what like you can down patch the game all these things that just aren't on the surface a lot of things that aren't talked about and they're not even bad they're just like new and surprising and they they're like minimal more work so a lot of the times these communities are afraid of doing more work and they don't know how simple it can be oh I don't think I'm gonna save that much time I don't think I'm saving any time but this pace is still good like 10 more seconds so I'm losing 20 here I blame the ecosystem I don't know I had a bad first stealth section that you guys all saw no I lost 20 could have saved 10 and I lost 10 so that's 20 altogether the splits that I'm comparing to were like so arbitrary like just because the personal best doesn't mean that like like if I was competing against a gold split there and I had the same time I would it would have said that I lost 20 seconds so a really healthy way to think is like I don't know let's say I had like five minutes to say when I look like I just stirring that split I put down my controller went to go take it down from then came back if I saved one minute everybody'd be like sweet we saved a minute nobody would be thinking about how I still didn't save those four extra minutes locked can have people stealing garbage so if like I have a split where I can save a minute and I saved 30 seconds that's not good that means I still lost 30 seconds and I know that can sound like a pessimistic way of looking at it but it's just like I'm not I'm not very pessimistic of speedruns like I was optimistic even though I only lost a 20 second time that's pretty good but it's more like realistic because your perspective can't be in conjunction to what your personal best is that's a good way to compare this run to my you know PB that's how I like that my split side up but if I compare it to my gold what's only my solicited be read forever it would be like really demotivating so you let your brain do all the summer best work because then it's a lot more manageable and less stressful and you let your splits to the pp comparison so doesn't look like you're looking at a wall of red really you know put your hopes down exactly pooks exactly what pooks said you're still spending money even though it's on sale here if it still works yeah looks like everything's here Hey look I know the gadget prototype looks kind of Awesome testing and I've never done that in any community that's a lot of stuff that actually a lot of communities don't even try to figure out for years I was really good like China Mart's - speedrunners yeah they have like the audio files in length actually they probably don't well they they might but they probably don't have like an organized like file folder of every audio file cutting cut within it that was actually used in the final version of the game and typically voice files for a game whenever they're on a computer they're all in one voice file like if you want to play fallout 4 in french you have to take out the english voice file and put in the french one it's all one big chunk it's not like it's not like you can load and listen to every separate audio file like a super mutant screaming are you talking to Norah it's all just in one thing and the client of the game itself knows how to extract find the audio within that file when it's needed so we just got a compares there were like spreadsheets and comparisons done for Fallout and it could be done for this game too there's not many moments where you need the audio to finish sooner and when it's a cup scene it doesn't make a difference probably because it's already a fixed video but if it's just like you free-roaming and you need to wait for a phone call to finish before you can proceed that's the kind of momentum over hoping where the phone call can finish faster because that's 100% audio no video or mouth movements yeah if I can like watch a video of somebody doing a playthrough a spider-man in like French or Spanish or Chinese or whatever I don't know then I can compare it to the speedrun and a part where somebody talks line up the two videos together like I don't need to own all the versions or do it
