body hi it's me caleb again it's me misha again it's marty against again wait should we do this we will we will we will welcome this is house of worship if you come to us on friday night you would see us at house of worship this is house of worship shabbat so everybody say shabbat shalom shabbat shalom let's sing that let's sing that really quickly to enter in the sabbath okay here we go means sabbath peace so sabbath peace to all y'all we're coming to you from nashville everybody ready for the three songs yes we're all ready now and that's caleb of course caleb vincent hoyt this is misha our one and only daughter and this is my beautiful wife jennifer did you forget my name no yes didn't forget jennifer and i'm marty and and misha's husband josh is not here because that's what i was thinking go ahead no that's what was in my brain no go ahead well he's not here because he's in austin texas and uh misha and marty are going to um birmingham alabama tomorrow for passover and i'll tell you something else go ahead also my grandpa right there pop off his real name is martin there you go okay he asked me if that actually last name was ministries marty gets minutes it's papa's last name [Music] and i have a show with a person called martin that's right except it doesn't look exactly like papa because they're he's way younger and is his brother yeah that's right so let me just say this is the beautiful thing about pastor i was thinking the same thing but you go ahead no you say well the beautiful thing about passover it's a time for family it's a time for family to gather around the table and to remember all that god has done for us through centuries and so to have it's it's really for your children to pass it on to their children and to remember the passover okay so as a matter of fact so it's shabbat but it's a special shabbat because this is a shabbat in which we are celebrating something we call pesach we're doing our passover seder tonight because we are out of town tomorrow but passover doesn't officially start until tomorrow night and tonight just so you all know right but tonight's friday right and we are celebrating our pesach our passover here tonight because we will be gone tomorrow in birmingham alabama where we pray that everybody is safe from those horrible tornadoes that hit there and um what what jenna what jennifer was just referencing is one of the i would say the themes of passover and by the way pesach is a beautiful word that's a hebrew word pesach comes from a word that means to hover over like a like a bird would hover over its nest and basically it refers to the fact that the when the angel of death came to slay the firstborn in egypt and that we're going to talk about that god himself hovered over the people of israel why because they were better no because they were special no it's because they had on the doorposts of their houses the blood of the lamb and god passed over their houses and for probably over 3 000 years the jewish people have been celebrating pesach or passover and now wonderfully it the people of god everywhere people who believe in the god of abraham isaac and jacob everywhere are celebrating papa that is true wait let me yes it is true it is true people everywhere are celebrating passover and we hope you enjoy celebrating with us yes that is true actually that is true okay and so one of the themes is in every generation in every generation we should see ourselves as if we personally came out of egypt because what is passover after all is what what in your words what is passover a passover is freedom it's it's a remembrance of the angel of death that we are all really deserving that the angel of death passed over our lives because we put the blood of the lamb on the doorposts of our home which ended up looking like a cross which was yeshua and because we put the blood on our homes god passed over us and did not kill us as he did others and get your bible open because we're going to start now what would you say in egypt it's a celebration of what freedom freedom freedom coming out of egypt into slavery and bondage into freedom and a promise from bondage into slavery from darkness into light i have something to say what do you think about it into life i have something to say look caleb's going to contribute god's commandment is our praise that's amen amen so we're ready to celebrate the passover but before you even celebrate you have by the way the girls are going to tell you about what's on our table but before you even celebrate passover you have to prepare to celebrate the passover as people have been doing for three thousand years over three thousand years and passover is one day the if entire festival is eight days but there's one day called passover pesach but the passover season has seven more days and those are called what the feast the feast of caleb said the other day the feast of unleathered bread uh yes that's what he called it the feast of unleathered bread and what the papa i called it today actually did you was it today well and and the wonderful thing about god's feasts is they usually coincide with some kind of a a festival and uh or or as time of year and of course this time of year is the springtime have you noticed that it's spring now we celebrated passover last year and that was the time when we were all entering into covid covet 19 that pandemic and lock down and i and i remember one of the words that was being spoken over people was isaiah 26 20. come my people or go my people enter your chambers and shut your doors behind you hide yourself as it were for a moment until the indignation is passed so what's really momentous and really meaningful about our celebrating here today is that it comes at a season where pretty much the indignation is passed and the lockdown is pretty much over and we are coming out of our hiding places coming back into the world so this is a special season of spring new life freedom light life we pray in we pray that that would be i was going to say in yeshua's name and i want to ask add that too all of us we are believers in yeshua hamashiach we are believers in the messiah of israel we believe him to be yeshua whose name means salvation and we're going to talk about that a little tonight but we what we like to do as a family since jenny and i are both from jewish background you were from where tena fly new jersey right and i'm from cleveland ohio we grew up celebrating this yeah and what we like to do is we like to celebrate it the way we celebrated it in in new jersey and in cleveland and then later on we'd like to just kind of talk a little bit about the kind of uh the kind of extra special meaning that yeshua whom we believe to be mashiach messiah the passover lamb the passover lamb caleb wants to add something okay go ahead caleb does everybody have one of these well we're going to talk about that everybody does have one of these okay well tell them what that's called what's it called [Laughter] caleb is so much more oh god and we're going to show you what it what the wooden version looks like and what the real version okay show them your wooden version this is the wooden version right in here wooden as in that's a and this is but also you can see it does not open but i'll show you the real version yeah this is the real version that's right and it also but this one can open because that's just a pretend one everybody everybody can see these words in one one of these books has has these words that's right these words but some of them aren't english like this word some of them are not english they're hebrew like this word perfect perfect and you know what caleb you're gonna really you're gonna really add so much tonight and one of the things that caleb's telling you is that the haggadah this this is from maxwell house coffee and they they give they uh okay this is what i found out yes we grew up um we grew up with these haggadahs and i went online to see if they were available and what i found out was you could get them back in the day at your grocery store for free they would have boxes of them but the deal was um the stores made a deal with maxwell house that they would carry so much maxwell house and then the stores would give away such a deal and over the years they've they've modernized the haggadahs so i wouldn't recommend the newer ones because they're a little bit too a little progressive that's all right but but this is the jewish pagada and marty and i choose to use these because we grew up with them um and and there are messianic haggadahs which are wonderful but we like to bring yeshua in to what the jewish people are reading in their god so that so that the mystery is greater whatever the point is is that the haggadah means to tell or the telling the hegarta is the hebrew word caleb you were so right to point that out okay the telling because we tell the story of passover year after year from generation to generation to generation or as one of our cds says the door of a door and so that's what we're all about so this whole night is the telling of the story and god in his wisdom has chosen to tell the story through things that we eat going back to the old acts of the old axiom of the history of our people which is they tried to kill us they didn't succeed let's eat that's that and so we're going to be telling the story through these things now yes yes okay when we get there now if we were having a regular seder dinner seder by the way means order this entire evening is supposed to be in order we're going a little out of order but that's okay because the seder was put together through generations of people each each generation kind of would add a little bit to the to the seder and so it's not it's not like a holy order that has to be kept to like that but it's a it's an order that's been given us as a template to go through the story of redemption correctly story of deliverance but even before we do that we have to as we said the feast of unleavened bread what is unleavened bread unleavened bread is bread that has no leaven cause leaven is yeast now i don't cook why don't you tell me what yeast does to something when you're cooking well i don't bake but it makes it rise right and it makes it rise and that's a picture god has told us that oh puffiness and pride comes before the fall amen and so leaven is what is a type of sin and since we're celebrating god's deliverance from egypt we're also celebrating our deliverance from sin and what we do is we're basically passover these girls have been working so so hard so have you yeah i've been working so so so so so so okay so [Music] let me finish so so so so hard yes he has to prepare this but the father after the wives and the daughters have worked so hard to make a beautiful home and you girls did a beautiful job the father has the job right before passover of going around the house here caleb hold this and i'll show you what we do hold that spoon and the father takes and he he does it with the child too if he can and he takes a candle and he lights the candle and he goes around the house and he takes me do that yeah like that and he takes a feather because the wives and the daughters have cleaned the house beautifully as a matter of fact we believe that spring cleaning is a jewish thing spring cleaning comes because we're in the spring and and and people will clean their homes at the spring time you want me to try it are you doing okay what does it mean when the matches don't light let me try it okay yeah we need new matches we need different matches okay okay here you try sweetheart it doesn't matter so the whole thing i'm gonna have to light this yeah i know we are so the father yeah we need new matches okay we have to by the way we we have some friends here and we're going to employ them for the first time to go and get us you know they are in the in the drawer in one of the drawers so what the father does is he goes away i guess we should have checked those messages so the father goes around the house he takes a spoon and he takes a feather and he takes a candle which is a picture from the scriptures which says that god searches out jerusalem with candles and the candle is the light of the spirit searching out the house and you clean out the house of all yeast of all leaven anything that would make things rise wow there you go it's quite a life so the father does that and he goes around and he finds whatever pieces of crumbs the mom has left behind after cleaning the house so diligently and he scrapes the crumbs into that spoon and then he takes the spoon and then he takes the feather and then he wraps it up inside of a cloth and he takes it with the other men of the town and they take it to the city and they put it in the fire and they burn it so that there's no trace of leaven no trace of of of yeast in the house and then they all declare may all leaven which is in my possession which i have observed or have not observed which i have removed or have not removed be regarded as null and be ownerless property as the dust of the earth and that's called the beticott commates the search for leaven and that's when the house is prepared for the passover and um i'm just gonna take a moment here just a moment okay go ahead please add something i need i need to use that for it you need the spoon the cup no that cup we'll get to the cup what do you need okay this cup okay do you want to tell us something you can't keep going all right i'll show you we're going to do that in a minute in a minute after papa yeah yeah yeah okay well we're gonna oh well this is the real the real version of one of the cup and this is the like wooden version it's pretty weird about the wooden version okay perfect all right thank you caleb this is a very special pass over here caleb i love what you're adding go back to 11. yeah i think we're going to be here so i would like to just take i literally a minute and i would just like all of us to just take a minute and just think lord what is the leaven in my life and don't talk about it don't tell anybody just between you and the god of abraham isaac and jacob the god of all the universe just say just i'm just just take a moment and just pray and and we're going to sing a little song while you're praying and as you're praying you're just saying you're just bringing before god the leaven in your life the yeast the sin in your life that needs to be purged from your house that you might be made unleavened because god says in his scriptures let us celebrate the feast not with the leaven of wickedness but with the unleavened bread of righteousness and holiness before god and so let's do that as we sing let's just sing this little song honey create in me a clean heart oh god and friends you can join us and renew the right spirit within me this will just pray before the [Music] lord [Music] me remove the leaven from our lives lord cast me not away from thy presence of the lord and take not thy holy spirit from me restore to me the joy of my salvation and renew a right spirit within me so lord we just do thank you for this feast of passover okay okay who we can be unleavened and we can be pure and as a sign of purity the father always puts on what we call a little kettle and this is called my little kittle it's a kettle it's actually something in which orthodox men are buried and uh it's kind of a holy garment hopefully that won't be tonight that you do that but if the kittle represents kind of a pre-sleep robe that the father puts on so i'm going to dawn the kittle that makes me the father now out there if you're joining us even though we're not doing a dinner like like a whole dinner there are still things we're going to be doing so misha while i do this why don't you tell people about what we're what we're going to be doing yes about just tell them to be you know that they're they can be a daddy and a mommy oh okay let me see where are you so we're going to light candles in a moment so if you're by yourself you can light the candles and you can play all the rolls yourself that's no problem if you are with um a father and a mother um one can be the mama of the household one can be the papa of the household and the kids can play the kid role which we've got a kid roll coming up and we soon and um so you can appoint someone if you're with multiple people a bunch of people you can make somebody the papa and you can make somebody the mama um so you can go ahead and do that now we also have um on our website marty gets.com passover lyrics to a song we're gonna sing later in the evening so if you want to go to the website to sing along with us later in the evening you can do that what's the name of the song lamb of god we're going to be singing lamb of god later tonight and we'd love you to mom fix back what you change it back whatever you just did and then um i think that that's what you wanted me to say yes that is perfect so as we go jenny come here for a second when you're finished with that i'd like you to read now as i said from generation to generation that things have been added to the seder but in the original seder which was when the israelites were in egypt in bondage in egypt it was very very very simple and this is what god told them to do and it's in the scriptures and jenny and i you know growing up we didn't know that this was in the scriptures we knew it was in the haggadah but we didn't know anything about the scriptures but here in exodus or as it says in hebrews shemot which means the names because exodus actually in the scripture in the hebrew bible which is the names that go out of the that are that went out of egypt but you want to talk about that but go ahead go ahead tell them about them these are the plagues yes and we're going to get that to that soon all right we'll get to those in a minute and then we can talk about them can we talk about them now no no we can't talk about that would you want to read that just just right from exodus 12 right up to 14. so this is how it was in the beginning this is what god said for the israelites to do and she can read this without glasses because she had cataracts wow and this is this is challenging though okay so is this this here right here yes oh is this the story of exodus yes so where am i reading honey i'm 12. 12 to where verse 14. oh okay wow so everybody join in and listen to the scripture and this is important because this tells you the original exodus story the original passover and then this so many of these other things have been added from generation and i just want to say when i when i got saved i started reading the bible for the very first time and when i read that the passover was in the bible i was stunned because i grew up celebrating passover and i thought it was just in this book yeah i didn't realize it was in the bible and so that was like amazing okay so if you want to follow up long it's exodus chapter 12. now the lord spoke to moses and aaron in the land of egypt saying this month shall be your beginning of the month it shall be the first month of the year to you that's wonderful speak to us yes because this is the spring this is the first one that's interesting this is the first month of the year yes this is the jewish biblically this is the first month of the year yes absolutely oh my gosh that's amazing because spring makes you this is the beginning of everything it makes you feel alive right okay so this month shall be your beginning of months it shall be the first month of the year to you speak to all the congregation of israel saying on the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb according to the house of his father a lamb for a household and if the household is too small for the lamb let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons according to each man's need you shall make your count for the lamb your lamb shall be without blemish a male of the first year you may take it from the sheep or from the goats now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month then the whole assembly of the congregation of israel shall kill it at twilight you want to gently she's not there okay go ahead okay and they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two door posts on the lintel of the houses where they eat it then they shall eat the flesh on that night roasted in fire with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it do not eat it raw nor boiled at all with water but roasted in fire its head with its legs and its entrails you shall let none of it remain until morning and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire and thus you shall eat it with a belt on your waist your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand so you shall eat it in haste it is the lord's passover for i will pass through the land of egypt on that night and will strike all the firstborn in the land of egypt both man and beast and against all the gods of egypt i will execute judgment i am the lord amen now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are and when i see the blood i will pass over you and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when i strike the land of egypt so this day shall be to you a memorial and you shall keep it as a feast to the lord throughout your generations you shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance amen amen that's why we're doing this you put that over there and this is important to say this is something that the jewish people have been doing for thousands of years but important to say it is the lord's passover it's something given to the jewish people to celebrate but it is the lord's passover it's his feast and we were invited to participate in it but it really belongs to everyone as a matter of fact in the early days of believers in yeshua the what we call the church or new believers in in in jesus they celebrated the passover it wasn't until people came in who separated jewish people from christian people that people stopped celebrating this feast and so in a sense we're restoring by your celebrating with us we're restoring what god had intended all along he never meant believers to be separated in any way he never met jews separated from non-jewish people he meant everyone by faith to celebrate the lord's passover isn't that a beautiful thought so thank you for doing that with us yes yes look this is what the wooden version of the lan the real version of the lamb bone looks like this yeah the wooden version but you know what you're perfect timing because take caleb let's do this together yeah we're gonna we can talk about this first camera no we're gonna talk about this first we're gonna talk about this first um um we're gonna explain the seder plate caleb do it with me okay you pick up your what we're doing right now is we're really collecting the wooden versions of things and the not one version right and then we're finding out which which ones if they look alike or they don't look alike right it's very important you hold up yours and i will hold up mine okay so what we want to show you is this seder plate is the order of our service okay and so so on our seder plate we have many many many things and let's start with i'll start with this the parsley can you see your parsley car seeds right here that's parsley hold pull that up that's a sign of new life right okay and then we have and it doesn't look like the real parsley but it is like kind of similar and can you see the lettuce okay then do the that's called that's called car carpass was the parsley this is called catseret which is a bitter herb basically a piece of lettuce or something another lettuce that's a lettuce right it doesn't look exactly alike because it's not as big or not as green [Music] now let's do this one which one is that what is that that is that's the corrosive okay that's this mixture okay here i'm putting it on a fork i wish i had a spoon this is corrosive here and this doesn't they don't look alike because that looks like rice this one looks like wait let me show you that's true but it's that's the promotion which is a which is a mixture maybe some of you made it of apples and cinnamon and all these nuts wonderful things we had the friends who are joining us here today they made this corrosive and it is delicious are we what are we doing next yes what is that the more roar now you have hold yours up hold yourself can you see him enough yeah tell him everybody we hold yours up uh oh we lost the wooden mirror no i can get it is bitter herb and he's that's that's an actual piece of horseradish this is grated what we use is dropped on the ground very spicy so you can you see our plate here we lost our bait okay what do we do next kayla first i'm gonna get more and more more more more roar and then we'll talk about and then we'll hold ours up and we'll see how they're compared okay where's yours though we lost the table okay we lost something under the table okay and what we also have here is what do we do next oh caleb let's check out the aurora compare okay but you caleb's is purple papa's is white white ours is white and it says right in the middle it says matzah but we don't have a piece of matzah there are we suppose but we have uh we could put a little piece of them on well it just said because because sometimes the we don't really need that but it's kind of fun to do it yeah because here here we have it because sometimes the feast of our deliverance the feast of our redemption is called the feast of the feast of matzahs the feast of freedom there's many many names for pesach many name names for passover and and so i'm gonna talk about this land okay did you okay did you show the zoroa the zoroa is the land the land it's the shank bone of a lamb and that's what we show right here and that's very key to our passover because as you noticed as jenny read we there's we're talking about the the the giving of the lamb and the the lamb's blood and the slaying of the lamb as the passover leo version yes there you go there you go and what about and then this is called it doesn't look as likely right and then what do we have we've got something called bait saw which is the egg right what with that one there you go egg but but they're similarly the same except this one's white this one's brown so they're the same but they're just different colors right you are adding so much to this caleb no this is what passover is all is the children learning this now since misha is the mommy of caleb she's going to start our evening we always on a shabbat any festival in a jewish home is has begins with the lighting of the candles we are not commanded to light candles are we honey no darling we are not commanded but we are invited to light the candles because what is because after all it brings light into our home coming right back and this is a season we're celebrating light from the darkness and i don't know why misha left and she's having a baby in nine weeks misha's having another babe now do you know if it's a boy or a girl do you know have you felt it uh bumping around in there yeah we felt it like it felt like other but um it you know if the truth of it that we believe that a woman brought light everlasting light into the world we who believe in yeshua a little jewish girl named miriam brought light into the world and so we bring the light of pesach and the light of this new season to our table so you ready honey we're ready okay okay here we go do you want to cover your head or you don't you don't need to i don't have a cup nearby you're okay some people cover their heads it doesn't really matter she can do no these matches are fiery they are we finally found some good matches there we go they like the candles at home moms if there's mom's been home go ahead and light the candles with them you can do this one with me if you'd like you'll listen and you'll get it okay caleb's been speaking hebrew all day haven't you yeah because this is a book every has anybody seen a hebrew book it's very cool very fun okay here we go [Music] [Music] foreign blessed are you oh lord our god king of the universe who has sanctified us he divides us by the by the commandments and has invited us invited us to kindle the for sabbath for sabbath and this festival this festival oh man oh my god now that was beautiful honey and i'm sorry that we were jen mom wants to lighten well it's okay no no no just get out of here but you are a bro [Music] we like now a lot of the festivals begin the same way now during the passover time we drink four cups of wine or grape juice this is grape juice i'm taking a sip of grape juice right now right now but don't do it yet let me say the prayer first okay are we about to do that oh there we go caleb has his own order okay should i have my very own grapes let's now when you're gonna do the drink yes now what you do and the papa can do this at home pour the first flat cup of wine we're going to drink explain the word i'm going to oh the four cups of wine are based on the words in exodus exodus 6 that says i will bring you out from under the bondage of the egyptians i will deliver you from their slavery i will redeem you means to buy you back i will take rebuy you purchase you and then i will take you to myself as a people so i will bring you out i will deliver you i will redeem you and i will take you to myself now so we drink those four cups of wine and or grape juice and by the way when i was a when i was a kid they let us drink the wine as little kids didn't they honey remember man of chevits and mog and david and that's the way we did it sorry i hope nobody's offended by that and then we were asleep like and we were asleep and as a matter of fact most seders go on for hours and hours the orthodox slaters go on into the night so you're you're getting off easy here [Music] everybody must know that because they always pour drinks the same way yes but that's your grape juice right there isn't it yeah yeah that's it yeah it's the fruit of the vine and i have to say when i was a child i did not participate as much as caleb does he's very very interactive i'm not always okay and i have one more thing in common i'm always talking and i will what i would um what i would like to do is to tell you that i'm gonna do something called the kiddush which is the sanctification kiddish is a word holy or sanctified set apart by drinking this grape juice so this one we set apart the passover seder and we set it apart as a holy time now i was just going to say to you believers in yeshua now you can understand after the four glasses of wine and the big meal why in the garden we're jumping ahead a little bit but remember the disciples fell asleep maybe you'll have a little more sympathy for them because they fell asleep there in the garden after those glasses of wine well i'm going to do the long version of this of this kiddush now don't drink it until i tell you okay because we're going to do four cups through the night okay i hope you don't mind the long version i love it oh let me find that let me find that weight here you go page four this is what i did when i was a little kid and i was it was always for me the little kid too as a matter of fact we have a little we have a little album coming off called scrapbook and in that album you actually hear me at the age of i don't know probably 13. probably 11 probably 10 is 19. you're 13. i'm 13. you haven't probably just been bar right we have a little clip of me singing the kiddush at that age and that album's not out yet no it's not but i just thought i'd tell you about that it's very sweet here we go everybody papa's raised the glass everybody lays no everybody ready everybody can raise your glass okay but the papa pours my papa make sure everybody has what they need don't drink until i tell you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] because of this festival we're adding one thing that we all like to add [Music] on of the universe who creates who creates the fruit the fruit of the vine the vine blessed art where are you at i'm here page six blessed blessed art thou oh lord oh and brought us to enjoy this season now if we were at a big long seder table the way they used to have in the old old old days what would they do we're gonna ask our friends to shout it out go ahead tell us what we do oh my interesting okay there you go so let's lean and there's a reason we're leaning this way to the left go ahead and lean and this is what we lean as we eat and we drink and we recline because we are free people so if you have a pillow there that's the way they used to do it in the old olden days yeah when they and when were your shoes with his disciples that's why they were all there well go ahead and tell them i'm just thinking the pictures you see when yeshua was with his disciples and they were eating this meal together they were reclining on pillows they were they were and and it's the reason why when they said that there was one of the disciples was leaning on yeshua's breast or on his chest yes it's because they were leaning like as we're leaning now that was very good that you added that so let's all partake go ahead and drink the fruit of the vine you drink the whole first cup you can drink the whole are you supposed to you don't have additionally traditionally you would but you don't have to you don't have to drink the whole thing all right that's wonderful and there's an order that by the way we do all of these things kadesh that's the first one now the washing of the hands there's no blessing attached to this but the father of the house washes now yes if you have a bowl and you have water and you have a towel just have yeah and the reason you're doing this over me is because i'm a free man and i have you you're the father of that right that's right and i wash my hands because that's all about being clean before god remember it says it says who's going through it be in the hill of the lord he who has clean hands and a pure heart oh god help us be those people with clean hands wash me and that's another thing by the way you followers of yeshua tell us what we just did was i just washed my hands what was there in the first century when yeshua celebrated the passover what happened there he washed the disciples feet right because the father had a servant to wash his hands but yeshua for those of you who are believers you know yeshua turned it around and he who was the lord became the servant everybody ready and he washed their feet and what does that say what what would you say to that that we if you want to be great in god's kingdom learn to be what you learn to be a servant to all yeah amen and i remember singing a song when i was a new believer in yeshua at the vineyard christian fellowship i sang a song actually i didn't sing it my friend wendell burton sang it and it was a beautiful beautiful song i'm gonna sing it real quick it went wash me clean lord wash me clean as a matter of fact as i'm singing you can just raise your hands before god and ask him to cleanse you of everything in your life that's not a holy and whole and clean before him let my feet walk close beside you wash me clean lord wash me clean so with you i always will abide let my heart know with deep compassion all the things that you require of me let my mind know with full assurance all the things that you desire i do sing with me wash me clean lord wash me clean touch my feet touch my feet with your anointing that i may gleam lord that i may gleam that much brighter now to shine for you well i'm glad you're adding those things to our seder i was going to add them later on but i'm glad you're adding them right now i think it adds so much meaning to this see here's the thing yeshua for those of you maybe who don't believe in yeshua he is a jewish man yeshua would have celebrated the passover with his parents his whole life as a matter of fact remember he went up to jerusalem to celebrate the passover and he you know he was in the temple talking to the wise men and sharing wisdom with the wise men in the temple and they didn't know where he was they went searching for him and he said don't you know i must be about my father's business so this was incumbent upon yeshua to do this and as a matter of fact he celebrated this with his disciples he said in these scriptures in the book of luke he said i have earnestly earnestly desired from the bottom of my heart desire to eat this passover with you before i suffer because it was a passover that he did suffer and we're going to talk about that a little bit more okay so caleb we're about to eat something so you're gonna not matzo yet you can have a piece of mozzarella it's okay you there's no there's this is not a the great thing about passover it's not a holiday with strict strict strict rules there's an order but there's not strict rules matter of fact you're going to see caleb when he sits down come back and you can turn that light up take it okay come on over here because we're going to eat our might there you just put it right back in there well there you go because we're family over here now the next thing we do is we take the carposts now if you're um the mom or the dad it doesn't matter however you want to do it at your home car you pass to each other the the the parsley parsley oh yes and and you have a little bowl of salt a little bowl of salt and water now now let's get the parsley in the salt right we do this why did we do that do you know okay because the parsley we knife unite the death no the parsley unites the death that's interesting now let's just talk about this i want to just open this up what could this parsley mean misha a new life new life springtime a paint brush a paint brush to do what to put the blood on the for the hyssop yeah the hair sauce up the paint put it on the doorposts of the house what else you okay can we have that real quick yeah you can have that one what do you know i'm gonna have that which one no the lamp no no we can't do the lamp yet no i'm not doing a lamb i'm gonna do so this is and the salt water represents sometimes can be the red sea and this could be israel going through the red sea or it can be the tears that were shed in egypt we dip the parsley in to remind us of those tears that were shed but israel comes forth as new life even through their tears they have new life so we're going to dip the parsley but first you want to add something caleb how it works is you dip the parsley you want to do that and then you can paint the and then you get the blood and you paint it on the doorpost that's right caleb you are so amazing here go ahead caleb dip your parsley in the salt butter and you have to eat it then we eat it now if you're actually at a regular seder this is the first thing you get to eat nobody for a while yeah so if you're doing a seder if you have a big seder at home with a lot of people in a long time it's good to have a little something in the afternoon a little nosh as we like to say how was that how was it he was not a big fan he's not a fan energizing i like it i love it it also freshens your breath yeah i only took one little tiny crumb really and he did not like it you didn't love it i didn't love it as much as you i thought all right now we say something here now it's very important if there's a a phrase and that is when we hold up the matzah you mean well don't don't hold i'm not going to hold it up yet but which one are you talking like like yeah give me that please yes here's the parsley look you would eat it like this well i wouldn't there you go no don't eat the wooden version now this this is what we call a matzah tash or a unity caleb caleb has one too oh and you have your why don't you go get your matzah and put it in there that's okay so i think you're good would you like some real matzo to put in there honey no he wants the ones okay okay here's how you would do it i'll show how popular means this is the bread of affliction or this is the poor bread and i will pronounce the complete blessing in a minute but we put and maybe you did this at home in a napkin or maybe you had a matzo tash at home and these are beautiful aren't they they're made out of linen and inside that's not that's silk that's chill silk oh wow it's not linen it's not linen it's silk i don't know i don't know about these things caleb has his caleb has his i think his is linen this is how you show them what's inside of it three sections three sections right one yeah i'll do this one okay look you can put them you put the matzah in the silk cloth yeah now we're gonna break there's three moxas in here like you'll you see like three compartments three compartments right kind of like the five and this is very very important wait don't get to that part more yet yeah and the sun yeah and the mother okay there you go now caleb take out your middle matzah okay you have three mozzas in here here you go we take out the middle matzah come on over here you're gonna do yours look i know caleb it's tough but you've got to sit there so they can see your handsome face i got to do the real you get to do okay are we at count of three you want to count to three and we'll break it okay no you get i'm gonna count to three with the real because the pretend you get the purchase i do the pretend and you do the real that's good okay here we go oh not that way one the other way two there you go it's all right it's all right it doesn't matter now put these back okay and what we're gonna do is we're going to take this pizza piece of matzo no i want to hide it not pizza matzah and we're going to put it in the pan me that little silk bag and we're going to have by the way one of our other friends is going to be in charge of hiding them yes we that's good to have friends okay this is called the offi coleman which will become common dessert and what happens is we take the optic coleman and wait what is the happy coming it's you break was it the middle the middle there's three there's three hot there you go confusing there's three slots yeah one mata is an easy you thought i was confused and then there was the middle matzah and you break the middle matza and you take half of it and we take this and put it back in here get it into that little silk thing right here and then you you take that and you hide that yes and that will be hidden that's important there you go honey yeah look you would usually do this and then you would go do this tell them tell them in the camera go hide it you would put it in here yeah what you would do is you would get down and you would um i mean and after you would go hiding yeah are you hiding it caleb's hiding the hiding it right now okay there you go show them your offi komen bag it's really pretty but you have to sit up here again here i'll hold it got it i'm gonna show it okay yeah you show it here there it is i'm looking to see them caleb told us he's going to teach the children tonight and you're doing a great job oh good he's teaching this now hand me that that now we have a beautiful matzah tray okay and this is one i pronounce here's this this is the bread of affliction which our fathers ate when they came out of egypt let all who who are hungry come and eat let all who are poor and all who are needy come and celebrate the passover and you know you might recognize the kind of poetry of that statement and let all thirst no no no no let all who are cool that all who are needy what would that what does that sound like to you honey well math and matthew that's right it also sounds like the statue of liberty yes that's right and our friend our friend out here knows that what does it sound like that's right the poem by emma lazarus on the statue of liberty emma lazarus is a jewish girl and she wrote that that poem for the colossus in in the new york harbor and what does it say give me you're tired you're poor you're huddled masses yearning to be free you're tempted you know what is it also this is the wretched refuse of your send these the homeless tempest tossed to me i lift my gate i lift my lantern and we as you can i just say yes go ahead isn't it funny that her name is emma lazarus she's jewish yeah but lazarus right like being raised from the dead and we are right and it's meaningful to us especially because we're jewish people generally our ancestors came through ellis island right i'm sure the majority many of you jenny's parents jenny's ancestors came through from russia mine came from russia and from poland and we are so grateful for the united states of america that gave them shelter and gave them freedom and gave them a home and not only that at at at passover time we remember all those who are not yet in freedom and we we remember them as a matter of fact we should even say a prayer for them caleb would you pray for everybody that's not free now in the countries where they are that god would make them free at this passover time how about you pray for us god i pray that those people who are still stuck in egypt will get out amen amen and i have something missing this is not about passover but i do want to sing because i've never ever seen it okay okay when i am afraid i will trust in you i will trust in you i will trust in you you can sing this song to your kids whenever they're scared at night if if you come in and you have to come in a hundred times just sing that song to them and they'll feel all better they'll just be inside and it's talking about trusting god when i am afraid i will trust in you i will trust in you i will trust in you when i am afraid i will trust in you in god whose word i praise when i am afraid i will trust in you i will trust in you i will trust in you when i am afraid i will trust in you in god whose word i pray in god whose word i pray when i am afraid i will trust in you i will trust this last time i will trust when i am afraid i will trust in you in god whose word i praise oh that was so beautiful i love that because think about it think about how afraid people are even right now yeah as a matter of fact some kids when they're sleeping they feel so afraid because they have bad dreams and then their mother they can come and just sing them that's perfect and lord we don't know what's going on here in our country even at our borders and things like that but we just pray that you would bring wisdom to everyone and you would bring you would bring freedom to everyone and you would bring order to everything and and in all the places around the world whenever people are afraid let them remember what you did for our people at passover by delivering them amen now let's fill our second cup that was beautiful but just think also how afraid the israelites must i was thinking we're being told to leave egypt right and go toward the red sea yes can you imagine and in their houses imagine that night of passover how afraid how afraid they must have been and they're hearing all through egypt they're hearing the screams and they're hearing the of the first terror of all the things going on in each it's an amazing thing this is an amazing story we are so grateful and to god to be here so now we come to the the most important part this is probably the most important part because after all as we said this is all about caleb vincent hoyt and his generation and the young people it's all about you so we're going to tell astronauts yes okay also if you know steve green he wrote it there you go a little plug for steve green promoter that's good caleb you have you might have and we've listened to a lot of other ones like children obey your parents in the lord [Music] or deliver us from the evil one or um love god when you're older train up a child in the way he should go all kinds that's amazing all of those are from steve green that's great if you want i could see one of those ones at the end okay you want to do one you want to do okay we're going to have one more song i'm going to do children over here okay you should abide by that the rest of the seder yeah i'm gonna lay your parents in the lord if you want children if you want your kids to obey you and god then just sing that song to them there you go children away your parents in the lord this is from steve green too children obey your parents in the lord children wear your parents in the lord for this is right for this is right children away your parents in the lord wow that is not as long as the song should be but hey caleb now it's time to ask the four questions the what we call the the uh the fear the fear what the fear frogging in that's in german right the fear frog and our friend uh but uh we used to call them the fear cashes the four questions that's kind of a yiddish word the fear of tashas and um so by the way i did not add this when we just said that about the the bread of affliction at present we celebrated here but next year we hope to celebrate it in the land of israel this year we are servants here but next year we hope to be free men and women in the land of israel so this whole god brought the jewish people out of egypt to bring them in to their inheritance so this the in the original passover god said to eat the passover with their loins girded and their staffs in their hand god is always about bringing us out to bring us in so even though we're looking back at passover we're actually looking forward as a matter of fact this is a rehearsal actually what we're doing tonight we're rehearsing what we're going to be doing in the kingdom to come we are going to celebrate the passover in the kingdom to come and as a matter of fact when we you know jenny and and and misha so lovely made such lovely references yeshua when he took that first cup at his passover you know what he said he said i will not drink this again with you until i drink it anew with you in the kingdom that is to come so we are looking forward aren't we caleb yes so what i did yes i wanted to do is i wanted to experiment what this would look like in the water okay no not right now okay well okay now we're gonna ask the four questions now the four questions in answering them we are answering the questions that children have about the seder and about the passover and they have questions because at this point you're probably an hour and a half into the seder and you're wondering when are we gonna eat and we're an hour and ten minutes in are they gonna leave wow that's amazing thank you for hanging with us we're already an hour in like wow so you have your kids do this part and whoever's the youngest this guy whoever's the youngest ask these questions so i'm going to say them we're going to let them and then you can repeat after me with caleb we're going to leave this off only the kids can repeat after her right okay why is this night different from all other nights why is my different from all other nights any other night we may eat either leavened or unleavened bread any other night we may eat either leavened or unleavened bread but on this night unleavened bread but on this night i'm leaving bread okay this is the second question all other nights we oh wait he said he's in you're not this is right is he supposed to answer the questions no he's not answering so there's four answers for why is this night different from all others are you supposed to answer and this is the second answer okay all other nights we may eat any species of herb all other nights we may eat any species of herb but this night only bitter herbs but this night only bitter herbs that's the second reason i have the bitter oil this is different and i have our bitter herbs oh we're going to get to that in a minute i made it that's the parsley okay get ready this we've got the third answer for why this night is different from all other nights all other nights we do not dip even once but on this night twice all over all over all other nights we do not dip even once but on this night we dip twice yep and the last reason this night is different from all other nights on all other nights we eat and drink either sitting or reclining on all of the nights we either drink sitting or recline and on this night all of us recline and on this night all of us recline so those are the four reasons this night is different from all other nights and why don't you just sing a little bit for us yet we're gonna in a minute now i'm gonna sing those four questions because there's a little song that goes along with it and you guys can sing with me okay awesome you can sing too [Music] [Music] [Music] me [Music] [Music] wow and so we've answered the questions right yep wait wait wait wait i mean why do we eat unleavened bread quickly why we eat unleavened bread because our forefathers had to leave egypt in haste and there was no time for the bread to rise and all other nights we eat many herbs but this night only bitter herbs why do we do that is it to remind us of no bitterness yes to remind us of the bitterness of slavery and all of the nights we dip just once but this night twice why do we do that i don't know i don't know that well we do it twice to remind us of how god turned our our sorrows into joy and he turned our bitterness into sweetness when do we dip twice uh you mean when did we do it during the service we dip twice we've already dipped once we're gonna dip again oh okay all of the nights we eat a drink reclining or sitting but this night we all recline why because we are free i was a free man in paris now i'm gonna read this and then we're to tell very quickly the story of this of the passover okay but i'm going to begin it by saying this and misha will you find this part where we have the readers yes we might even have our friends read you won't see them but we might pass it to them to read okay because we were slaves unto pharaoh in egypt and the lord our god brought us forth with a mighty hand an outstretched arm and if the most holy blessed be he had not brought forth our ancestors from egypt we and our children and our children's children would still be in bondage to the pharaohs in egypt therefore even if we were all of us wise all of us men of knowledge and understanding all of us learned in the law it nevertheless would be incumbent upon us to speak of the departure from egypt and all those who speak of the departure from egypt are accounted praiseworthy we are doing something praiseworthy where we all declare ma why is this night different from all other nights why is this night different from all other nights because we tell the story of our going forth from egypt from bondage into freedom so i'm gonna start the story of passover is a story of miracles a story of redemption a story of the mighty power of god to overcome evil go ahead hon where are we ready reader one right reader one night the lord had promised the land of israel to abraham isaac and jacob yet here were three children in egypt they were their children yet here were their children in egypt the pharaoh who had come to power feared them the foreigners in our midst are preparing and have grown numerous he thought suppose they join with our enemies and turn against us vera decided to exert greater control over this people imposing harsh and bitter slavery upon the israelites still god blessed his people in strength and number here you want to read and then we'll pass it over yes we'll pass it over to our friends to read really really loudly pharaoh grew more frightened and ordered every baby boy among the israelites to be drowned in the nile river one israelite couple hit their little boy for three months finally entrusting his future to god they set him in a basket and placed him upon the river his sister miriam watched as he floated downstream coming upon the basket pharaoh's daughter took pity on the child and chose to raise him as her own son she called him moses meaning drawn from the water here you go now listen up everybody you're not going to see our friends on camera but you're going to hear them let's listen to the story let's listen to the story what we do three number three moses grew and became aware of the travail of his people one day in a rage he lost control of himself and killed an egyptian who is beating a hebrew slave fleeing the place in the eye of pharaoh moses became a shepherd in the land of midian far from the cries of his suffering brothers okay friend let's read this one nice and loud the lord however saw the afflictions of the children of israel and heard their groaning he would raise up a deliverer to lead them out of bondage it was then that he appeared to moses in the midst of a bush that burned with fire yet was not consumed moses drew close and listened as god commissioned him to go to pharaoh fearful and reluctant still moses agreed to bring god's message to the king of egypt let my people go amen when israel was in egypt land let my people go oppress so hard they could not stand let my people go go down moving way down in egypt land tello pharaoh to let my people go now if we were at a regular long passover seder that would have gone on for very long but we did a good job telling the story that was wonderful everybody and i hope you guys were listening very closely but god worked the way it worked out is pharaoh would not let the people go just like you know the clutches of sin the clutches of satan satan the devil whatever you want to call doesn't want to let the people go but because pharaoh is a kind of a type of the the evil one and he did not want to let the people go but god had to do something drastic he had to send upon egypt 10 plagues and he was not sending them that so much on the people of egypt he was sending them upon the gods of egypt because the egyptians worshiped different gods god did not hate the the egyptian people he didn't hate pharaoh either he gave pharaoh lots of chances but pharaoh's heart was hardened against god and he would not let the people go so god had to bring the plagues and the plagues were a horrible thing but how we remember them is with our second cup of wine our second cup of juice and what we do if you have your juice and you have your wine you take your little pinky finger and what you're going to do is dip it into this second cup the first cup was the cup of sanctification this is the cup of plagues what we're going to do is we're going to do what we do by taking out some of the juices we're diminishing what's in the cup why because we don't rejoice over the death of the egyptians we diminish our joy even though we're joyful that we're delivered we diminish the joy with the wine represents joy because of what happened to the people so we just remember that in in fear of god but we do remember the plagues and i'm going to say them in hebrew and you and then you'll repeat them in english okay got it and uh well you know how to do that take your pinky here we go now what you do is you put it on the plates one by one okay first one is dom [Applause] svardeja frogs ki neem lice a robe wild beasts diseases and their diseases okay i'm sorry i went too fast shaking boiling oils spoils he's doing both great darkness death of the firstborn everywhere in egypt the firstborn of cattle and animals and people the firstborn of every household it wasn't just children it was the firstborn of every household and caleb has his name caleb why don't you show us the plagues that you have the finger puppet please [Music] show us well the one that's darkness it has sunglasses and it fits wow we don't know where what else wild animals wild beasts what else do we have put them on your fingers like put them on your fingers that's right you're teaching the children nice death of the firstborn hail what else do we have i want to get this one with the frogs disappearing oils and sure it's not there let's see blood blood into water and that's it yeah and darkness which is right now what we're gonna do is we're gonna drink that second well now we're i'm sorry i'm sorry i went a little too fast because i'm a little conscious of the time because we're taking a lot of time but that's okay i hope you guys are okay okay great awesome facebook okay keep going awesome keep going rabbi gamliel who was a great rabbi uh said that if you did not mention the elements of passover the three important elements then you have not done your duty so we are going to discuss them the shank bone which we're going to lift up the shank bone the shank bone represents the passover lamb the lamb that was slain the blood was put on the doorpost of the house and also we remember of course that yeshua our our our passover is sacrificed for us he's the passover lamb and the matzah the house the matzah is the unleavened bread which we discussed before already the land the bread that represents no sin and and uh sin the sinless lamb of god as well and the the the the the bread which which did i have time to rise when we exited egypt and the bitter herbs the charoset here that we have here which we which is which represents the bitterness of our people in egypt which was made sweet by redemption now we are going to do the second cup because gamliel will be happy with me because i did gamliel is a rabbi as a matter of fact do you remember do you remember when uh saul of tarsus was was uh they were questioning what his bona fides were his his credentials and they um that and gamliel said you know you ought to give him he was actually the teacher of saul of tarsus so he was his teacher was an ancient rabbi yes he was a rabbi in the first century he well he he contributed to this contributed pretty cool huh very cool okay tell me about the stripes and the piercings oh we're gonna do that in a little bit but thank you thank you friend okay now we're going to drink our second cup all right and by the way you may think we're not near we're actually honing in on getting on on really finishing up our passover but we've just done a lot haven't we here we go again [Music] blessed art thou a lord our god king of the universe who creates the fruit of the vine amen oh man that's good now i wash my hands again but this time with a blessing because we're about to eat we hope you have the foods that we told you about are you ready to wash my hands oh i did no we're gonna do it again second time wow here we go wait wait the bowl i know i know i know ron pass that to me this no this time with the blessing so you can get the ball atta adonai eloheinu how many times do you wash your hands three times twice oh just twice yeah twice there you go thank you honey because we're about to eat can you say something yes go ahead you say something you know that this stuff has spots it makes me like a jaguar it makes me look like a jacqueline wow wow it does wow that's amazing that later there is more on that that doesn't have anything to do with that that's right but yeah i'm pastor we didn't have anything to do with that yeah it didn't happen now i have to say something this was just a little senior moment yes it was we forgot not that we forgot i just remember i said seder means order sometimes i put things out of order but it's okay we're all prepared to eat but before we do we have to remember what we just celebrated by the plagues on egypt and the deliverance of the people we have to sing our song okay so where diana should have been a couple of things back right after we did the plague so i apologize we need to move out right right no no no let's just we don't need no no no no no no so i'm gonna lead us in singing and we're going to dayenu means it would have been enough so whatever god does so much for us but each thing that he does for us it would be enough right yes sir it would be enough if if we were even alive but we enlivened and we get to celebrate paso we woke up we're live we have friends we have family we have we have food we have a roof over ahead we have you our friends out there watching us but we have yeshua at this moment [Music] [Music] is [Music] [Music] lord if you had only brought us out of egypt it would have been enough you'd have just given us your torah would have been enough you've just given up your sabbath that would have been enough and of course if you'd given us yeshua it absolutely is more than enough and if you give us mercy from everybody who's thinking marty took us out of order and didn't die anyway we should have done it thank you thank you for your mercy it would have been enough okay but we've eaten our we washed our hands so we can eat yes why don't you hand me now you can take from any matzo you want but why don't you hand me that really yeah hand me that and by the way well tell everybody what they're gonna do right now what we're going to do is we're going to eat the elements we're going to eat the matzah the more the charoset and that's what we're going to do are you well okay what i'm gonna do is i'm you can take from the the the the uh plate that you have i'm gonna take from the top matzah in my mozzatosh and we're gonna eat the matzah and we're gonna say a blessing over it everybody okay supposed to take from the top matzah yes yeah papa is yes from the top from the top papa takes from the top layer of matzah in your little napkin yeah would you like from the top would you like to know i would like from the top i'm going to give you from the top here you go i would like to move on okay here you go because caleb wants to be a papa exactly so i don't want to be a papa i want to be a dad so let's say let's say the blessing over the matzah everybody together okay [Music] our god king of the universe who brings forth bread from the earth amen now we're going to eat the bitter herbs what you can do is you can take a piece of matzah and eat the more roar the more roar which is the hot horse radish as hot as you can possibly find it yes um some of you i don't know if you remember herbs do you remember a product called drift stand this will clean out your sinuses and you have you should have enough on your matzah to bring forth tears because it reminds us of the tears that were shed in our slavery very very and ours is very hot so just give me a little bit there baru everybody have theirs everybody out there have yours [Music] king of the universe sanctified us by the commandments and allowed us to eat the bitter herbs we lost caleb coming back okay here we go eat up remember you have to tear up to remind us of the tears in egypt i'm eating my dinner oh boy whoa whoa you took too much whoa i wanted you i got my dinner right here a chocolate oh yeah yeah beforehand yeah oh my gosh i cannot even call it the jews had clean sinuses wait do you want that bitten too now another rabbi a second century rabbi hillel remembered that we ate the lamb whispered and by the way that they would eat the passover lamb as we as we talked about and there you go and we would eat the the uh hero set what we remember is that what we remember is that hillel made us the first sandwich the first sandwich the first down which was yeah the first sandwich was for hair out and and he made it yeah a hill out and he would take he would take he would take the the bitter herbs and the heroset and the matzah and he would put them together to remember that we were commanded to eat the matzah and we were commanded to eat the bitter herbs so what you do is take some of this the kharosa which is this mixture eat the heroes why don't you tell them about that well misha did you give them a recipe for the we did okay so this is apples and honey and cinnamon and either mana shevitz wine or grape juice and and it's just the sweet sweet and because of its texture it reminds us of the mortar mortar that was in the bricks that the israelites were forced to use to build for the pharaoh so you put this but it also reminded because it's sweet it reminds us of the sweetness of our redemption i know i'm not supposed to so take some of that some of this and make a little sandwich you have a plate right yeah can you mix your sandwich first or do you yeah you can eat it it's on its own we always did when we were growing up and wait are you saying mix it now mix it now with the horseradish that's right and make a little sandwich like i'm sorry honey i'm you're good i'm really mix it like that because you bring that horseradish yes honey because remember with bitter herbs and with matzah you should eat it with unleavened bread so basically you're taking the the unleavened bread and you're putting together with a little sandwich there's no prayer there's no blessing you just eat it and now mm-hmm by the way if you're doing this with us i forgot to mention this we would love you to tag us on instagram at marty guest you know what instagram's not on i know instagram's not on but if you have instagram you can post about this on instagram oh my god oh boy we would love to see all of you here's standard scene buddy a glass broke we would love to see you and what you're doing so no no either you can tag us on instagram no you can't see buddy come on caleb we're almost done you can email us your photo can i can i would love to see your photo and you can find all that info at marty getz.com now everybody email us your phone i just want to say something yes this is the time of the seder where you have been waiting so long and you've been going through the prayers and you finally get to eat this and everyone just kind of goes nuts for a little while just eating this yes so enjoy enjoy but now we would be going into our dinner with others which is our table we've been having a wonderful wonderful festive meal we'd be having we don't do most of most people now some some middle eastern folks do do lamb they do have lamb but uh basically our tradition we didn't have lamb we had like uh we had like uh like chicken chicken or we had roasted brisket i'm sorry about your glass huh we have some more right yep um so we'd all be having a wonderful meal and if you have a political family you'll be early urban politicians and you have gefilte fish matzo ball soup and you have this wonderful meal oh yes we have eggs that's right and we didn't talk about the egg why don't you hand me that egg we also would eat an egg now the egg represents sometimes people say the egg represents thank you the egg represents some people say that it represents like the israelites because they're hard on the outside but soft on the inside some people say it's like kind of new life some people say it represents the the offering the the the during the passover time there were all kinds of other offerings brought to the temple called the hagi matter of fact the time of yeshua when he was taken out of the city to be sacrificed at that same time they were sacrificing passover lambs and so there was an offering of the chagiga and some people say that the egg is there because it made its way onto the passover plate through our wandering through babylon and babylonia and that it actually is a kind of a of just a symbol that was taken from those pagan lands that they that they had gone through no one really really knows wow but we like to think of it as another offering offering of life now after we eat dinner then what we would do is search for the office coleman and we only go back and explain about the office right because i'm sure people have to remember we broke a piece of matzah in half we put half of it in a little pouch called the opi komen bag and then we put half of it in our mozzatosh and it's in jewish household it's just called the dessert that which comes after afi komen it's from a greek word that means that would come after and so we only have one child here to search for the aquacoma but he's really he's getting tired it's time for uh caleb our youngest member of our family to go search for the afikomen are you ready to do that are coyotes i have a daddy coyote at home mommy coyote me baby kylie yes well i do have seven baby brothers yes sisters and third one they're still growing that's right but don't go this way because there's broken glass so it's not over here yeah don't go over there okay does that all right because he does i'm gonna say a blessing for the end of ours no i'm going to say a blessing for the end of our meeting go search for the offi so all the kids that they can't thank you the kids in your place let them go search for the afikomen and i will say this blessing as he does [Music] who noted [Music] [Music] caleb found the opportunity now heat now caleb's gonna hit you're gonna come that's not part of the passover no it's not for the passover we'll do it after sader is over you're gonna you can go hide it now while we're doing it but while he's doing that everybody fill their third cup of wine all right fill the third cup of wine and we also have that little cup that we have on that table there but we'll bring that we'll bring it i'll move it over we fill mine a little bit or grape juice uh oh honey are you sad about your glasses no honey you're you're okay okay did you did not did you hide it he did go look for it after the seder we'll go look at it well i kind of need it i kind of need it oh you got to bring it back for a minute but as no we need it now we need it now bring it back so we can show them something yeah we can just go hide it again go get it real quick is in there yeah i'll go get it okay go get it no we have to use it now while they're looking for the optic opticoman are you okay well they're searching for the afikoman let's talk a little bit now we're about to cl we're actually closing our seder about this time now if you were in a regular long seder in a in a jewish household you'd just be getting started you'd be searching for the avid coma and that would be your dessert that which comes after and then you'd sing songs and you'd go for a long long long time we're just going to finish up here with a couple of things but it's very important caleb's having a little issue with he dubbed his toe oh no you talk about it all right wait excuse me that horseradish is so hot oh oh well and i when he gets over having stubbed his toe i will give him his reward hand me the reward oh let's give it to him now hey caleb you want we've got misha we have a reward for him come here caleb for finding the offi coming now come on now the little boy or the little girl you want to hide it and then and then jake and you and paul yeah come up here come up here these people have to find it as i said from generation to generation they added different things okay here's for caleb this is this is this is your reward listen what is in it open it up what did you get he gets a reward for finding it for the for little children seek after dc and five dollars and this now let's talk a little bit now remember what we did we took the middle matzah and we broke the middle matzah and we put the middle matzah in here and this became that which comes after or some people say this could even mean i have come now why is this in the seder it's just a little game for children to play but we all as messianic believers we believe there might be another theory to it you see we broke the middle matzah there were three matzah and it could be very well said that those three monsters some people say they stand for abraham isaac and jacob or they stand for the priests or the lee and the levites and the israelites just the people but could it be could it be that it stands for the the the three in one nature of the god of israel the father and the son and the ruach hakodesh perhaps who knows but why is it that we break the middle matzah we don't break the other ones we break the middle one then we wrap it in linen and we take that and we go and we hide it and then the children go and seek after that which was put away or we could say that which was buried that which was buried out of sight and then lo and behold hallelujah those who seek after it with the heart of a little child it's brought out from where it was buried in a sense raised up raised up from that burial and risen again risen again and then what's inside and what's inside and this is our friend over here our dear friend that mentioned this what's inside something that's striped something that's that's burned see the stripes you can see see and you and it's pierced through see how you can see see how you can see the holes it's pierced it's striped it's burned take it out and we believe this perhaps could represent yeshua hamashiach our passover lamb because he was it says wounded for our transgressions bruised for our iniquities and and the chastisement for our peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed this is striped and it's pierced for he was pierced through and the burning me is a picture of judgment and so raising from the dead is this piece of matzah the unleavened bread without sin amen that represents the perfect son of god who was perfect like the lamb of god had to be a perfect the one-year-old means it means uh perfection and purity and so it's it's it's interesting too that at the end of the meal we take this apikomen and we are now going to eat this afikomen and for those of you who are believers for the for those of you who are just jewish people you just celebrating the passover it can be celebrated just as the dessert that which comes after but those who are believers can celebrate it truly as the lamb of god which has taken away the sin of the world because even in the passovers at the passover time that they always ate the lamb last the lamb was the last thing they ate at the passover meal so they can remember the taste of the lamb in their mouth the taste of the sacrificial lamb but yeshua changed it at his passover and instead of having the lamb he said this is my body this is the body of the lamb of god and from then on we have taken this afikomen after the meal and from then on believers in yeshua in jesus have taken this as what we call the lord's table the lord's supper because at his passover seder he changed it all up and rather than eating the lamb he said this is my body take it and eat it and when you do it remember me and that's very important as we're closing up almost this evening it's all about remembrance tonight we remember our deliverance from bondage in egypt amen and we remember that it was we who came out of egypt and in the same way we remember what yeshua did for us amen and that we are with in a sense as he says we are crucified with him we we were with him when he took our sins upon his body on the tree so we're going to take the lord's supper they say the lord's table by eating this afikomen and drinking from our third cup of wine which is the cup of redemption it's called the cup of redemption because yeshua said take it take it and eat it here caleb and here here misha hear mama jenny thank you honey and here everybody pass out the afrikomen and what we're going to do is what is we're going to take it and we're going to i'm going to say a blessing over it i'll say the hebrew and then you do the the body and you do the blood right okay [Music] blessed are god king of the universe who brings forth bread from the earth don't eat yet until misha has prayed god we thank you for this bread of life this striped bruised pierced unleavened sinless bread and we thank you for your son yeshua jesus who is represented in this piece of bread god and we just thank you for his body and his blood god and we thank you for um him dying on that tree so that we could not a tree live amen amen everybody can partake he took the bread and said take it and eat it do it in remembrance of me and he took this cup he said this cup is the new covenant in my blood take it and drink it and when you do remember me [Music] king of the universe who creates the fruit of the vine don't drink until jenny prays oh lord god thank you that you are the vine and we are the branches and apart from abiding in the vine we can do nothing and thank you lord that um that that you are also that you gave your life and your blood that through your blood our sins would be atoned for and forgiven because without the shedding of blood according to the old testament scriptures there is no remission of sins so god for jew and gentile alike without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins and with your blood that was shed god if we believe that your shed blood is the atonement for our sins then we are saved and we thank you god for that reality and that [Music] and you may sit thank you caleb thank you so we have just taken the lord's supper and yeshua changed his passover forever and ever and every time you take communion in a in a congregation or a church any time remember him and remember this because this is where he did it with his disciples and he initiated a new covenant in his blood and his body with the house of israel and with the house of judah but a covenant into which you are all invited to come just as you're invited to eat the passover seder you're invited into the new covenant in the body and blood of yeshua amen and if you are a believer in yeshua you are grafted in to the covenant that god made with the house of israel and we are one body in yeshua right messiah and lord we ask that anyone who is take partaking of this tonight who was just learning to know you may you feel you fill them with your spirit and may you make them prepared for your kingdom and and make them born anew in your body and your blood in yeshua's name [Music] before we sing the first verse caleb go open the front door okay round go round through go around and go open the front door it might be like uh caleb do you see anybody you see anybody out there nobody comes who are we looking for elijah elijah come here and tell us about it he's looking for elijah and this is the cup of elijah this is the cup we set aside we set at our table hopefully that maybe elijah would come and drink his cup because if elijah comes that means that messiah is soon to follow wow but it was said that a man named jochenan the immerser sometimes known as baptist john the john the baptist he baptist john yeshua said he was elijah and he prepared the way and yeshua did come but he is coming again so every time we remember elijah's cup we think about the fact that yeshua shall return there is a kingdom that is to come remember he brings us out to bring us in and he's going to bring us into that new cup that new kingdom and for that we say hallelujah hallelujah and during the course of the seder we would have sung the psalms psalm 113 through psalm 118 and the psalm 118 ends with has these words in it [Music] i [Applause] [Music] hallelujah [Music] [Music] in the name of the lord blessed is he who cometh in the name of the lord blessed is he who cometh in the name of the lord is he who cometh in the name of the lord [Music] hallelujah [Music] well that's our hallel that's our praise and now we fill and drink a fourth cup a final cup the cup of praise and with this we will be concluding our seder but we're going to end with the benediction that's not part of the seder are we not going to do lamb of god no i think we i think we've already gone over our time how long have we been going yes it's nine o'clock yes it's nine o'clock no we're trying to conclude our stater perfect but this has been so much fun and i hope you've enjoyed it we hope you've enjoyed it too i've i've learned new things every time you do this you're going to learn new things you're going to there's going to be and our friends out there do you have anything to shout out that we need to remember anything that we left out there okay if i want to say i just want to say caleb had so much to offer too so much he's checking on a live check-in oh go ahead you checked on a lot maybe he missed it okay check it out check it out maybe we missed it maybe we missed him come on around come on caleb wants to be the watcher but come on we're gonna finish here okay so last cup we're gonna take this last cup of praise and then we're going to say the declaration that we always say at this time of the seder baruch hooray blessed art thou o lord our god king of the universe who creates the fruit of the vine amen and amen now let's partake of our last cup what's this called cup of praise the cup of praise but don't be now i'm going to read something and then we're going to make a shout okay okay this is the acceptance of our divine service this is god telling us it's acceptable whatever it is that you did breaking glasses and making up new orders and all kinds of things you're still accepted because we're accepted in the beloved because of what yeshua did for us the commemoration service of the passover has now been accomplished according to its order and some new orders all the ordinances and customs of the feast as we have been deemed worthy to prepare it now grant also that we may be worthy to fulfill it oh lord most holy who dwells on high raise up your people israel hasten to conduct us the plants of thy vineyard once more redeemed unto zion with joyful singing now i will say in hebrew and let's shout it out in english okay yerushalayim next year in jerusalem wait hold on we hope you've enjoyed being passover yes and i hope i hope we weren't confusing in any way i hope it was clear to you um it's a wonderful enjoyed it it's a wonderful thing to do and just keep on doing it until yeshua returns and then we'll do it with him in the kingdom to come that's the promise but misha has a beautiful song but we need to go around and i need to no you don't have to we're gonna do it here let's just do it okay perfect it's very difficult to actually make it to the piano and do it you would not believe how small i know we look like we're in a huge place but we're not it's small okay now will you sing it with us too move in next to your mommy here we go this is the aaronic benediction this is not part of the seder there are a lot of different songs we could be singing here now but we're going to sing this one to conclude our evening because this is the blessing over the people of israel the blessing that we believe is straight from the high priest of israel and the blessings are like well they were blocking him that's why they're like reflecting right there okay here we go and the blessing that that we believe brings all people together amen from number 6 24-26 amen writing you know this one may the lord may the lord bless and keep you [Music] may his grace [Music] may the lord lift up his countenance upon give you peace and give you peace [Music] [Music] is [Music] this is the way
