This is probably quite confusing video for beginners as Atlas tiles don't have bitmasks. This video makes it seem like they do: You say "Go to the Tileset and create an Atlas of the Tileset you want", then you show how you click on "Atlas Tile".

If a Godot user does that, they will have no "Bitmask" tab. The Bitmask tab is only available for Autotiles.

I've already received heaps of super useful feedback on things I should've included in this ( I'm still learning, sorry!)

If something stood out to you please feel free to correct me here or on the video so I know what to look out for next time :)

you have a building interior or other structure consisting of multiple tile variants painting these on individually to match their correct orientation is tedious bit masks can do this magically on their own to get started go to your tile set and create an atlas consisting of the tiles that you want painting on bit masks can be done by clicking the bit mask icon a bit mask is what godow uses to figure out which tile to place next to another depending on the tiles adjacent to it it's easiest to think of the corners of each tile being little magnets the only exception being that these magnets only attract to their own type instead of opposites with this logic in mind if i paint this corner red it will only snap to other red within a building this middle tile here can obviously connect to any other tile as we want all our edge tiles to have the interior facing in we demarcate this by painting all the inside area with a bit mask now when we go to paint tiles into the world we notice that magically our buildings always have the floor facing in additionally godot will swap tiles that you've already placed when the tiles surrounding them change if this has been helpful please like and subscribe and feel free to let me know what you'd like me to cover in the next one down below cheers
